accuweather forecast. here's mike nicco. >> i lowered the storm scale. that's good news. we'll have light to showers. it could be locally breezy and brief intense rainfall. we should keep this a 1. we have a chance of thunderstorms, mainly across the north bay. that area has also shrunk. we had thunderstorms up a lock the mendocino county coast, those have since dissipated. new showers are developing from half moon bay northward. guess what, our commute is about to get wetter on san mateo bridge, the bay bridge, the golden gate bridge and the richmond-san rafael bridge. here's a look at walnut creek. sprinkles falling here. we have the best chance of showers from now until noon and then the chance tapers heading into the afternoon hours. temperatures mild. mid to upper 50s most of the day. all right. how about that commute? here's sue. >> it's wet in some spots of the we have standing water on the roadways still. extra caution advised.

san rafael, no rain right now. but traffic is slowing past the civic center. let's go back to walnut creek for a minute. southbound 680 past north main, you see brake lights here headed towards the 24 interchange for an 8-minute drive from 242 in concord to highway 24. it's looking good down the corridor. 40-minute drive out of the tracy, central valley area over the wall -- the antioch and livermore into hayward and you're looking at about a 50-minute drive all the way on that 580 stretch. let's check highway 4 to the maze. 21 minutes. another 10 to 11 minutes behind the bay bridge metering lights. about a 32-minute drive there. if you're taking a flight this morning, it's looking good. a mudslide in danville. officials posted this photo of the mess on twitter last night part of the road is closed

because of the mudslide. drivers can use danville boulevard as a detour. b.a.r.t. trains are moving again after a downed tree caused problems. this happened last night before 6:00. b.a.r.t. had to single track for a few hours while it was cleaned up. no injuries or damage reported. ferry service back to normal after a rough evening commute. you can see the choppy waves and gusty winds on the bay. this video was taken between san francisco and alameda and everyone just going about their businesslike it's a normal day. the ferry had to cancel a few evening runs because of the tough conditions. >> let's get you to the santa cruz mountains now. this is new video overnight of arcing wires on summit road near marty road in los gatos. you can see the small fire was sparked. pg&e is there. no word on the impact for customers in the area. also in the santa cruz mountains, highway 35 it closed because of this. a mudslide. trees are also down across the roadway. this video was shot around 3:30 this morning at bear creek road

and gist. cal trans is responding to clear the road. flooding still a major concern as we deal with the impacts of the storm. >> reporter matt keller is live above the guadalupe river in san jose where there is a little bit of good news. matt? >> reporter: yes. things are starting to calm down here, alexis. we're still dealing with a lot of the damage here in the south bay. now you're looking at the guadalupe river. it reached flood stage overnight. it was at 9.15 feet last night. flood stage is 8.5 feet. it's been going down ever since. the latest observation has it three feet below the flood stage. a lot going on overnight on idylwild road. two large trees came down. they started cutting up the trees with chainsaws to open up the roadway. cal trans responded and shut down lanes between los gatos and bear creek road. look at this scary situation.

we showed you this video before. arcing wires. wires and trees were down across bear creek road. that will take a while to clean up. you may be the first one to come across downed trees and power lines and especially in the mountains, especially around highway 17. obviously, you want to be extra careful when you're driving this morning. reporting live in san jose, matt keller, abc 7 news. >> thank you, matt. crews cleared this collision on the richmond-san rafael bridge last night. this truck was knocked on its side in the eastbound lanes last night at 8:00. that driver is okay. traffic got by just using the shoulder. the highway a patrol had to wait for winds to die down before uprighting it. the scene was cleared around midnight. >> in sonoma county, water sub erjd the area in shellville. the highway patrol -- they're driving along the flooded section. one officer and other people helped to push an suv that

stalled in the flood watt rs. >> this morning, crews all other over the bay area will be busy cleaning up trees. crews removed a tree that fell at fill more and hay streets last night. tim shea took a cell phone video of the firefighters showing up to help. >> it's not safe to walk under these trees when they're laden with weighter, you can hear them -- water, you can hear them creaki creaking. you know they're going to break. >> hyde and broadway, two trees fell across the tracks there. on the peninsula, a gigantic tree snapped and came to rest on power lines. this is along busy skyline boulevard in san bruno. the position of the tree forced officials to close all lanes of skyline between manor drive and sharp park road. pg&e crews responded to power outages all night and downed trees. we met up with tree trimming crews yesterday as they were

country really quick. whiteout conditions because of the blizzard. caution on the bay because we have bay shore flooding and our fastest breezes are this morning. the beaches, we have that high surf warning through tomorrow afternoon. about 5:00. here's a look at what's going on flood warning continues up in the north bay until 8:15 where some of the streams and creeks overfilled their banks and caused flooding. here's a look at that at 5:00. tomorrow evening, breakers up to 40 feet along the coast. with king tide starting today and climaxing sunday, this is our first coastal flood advisory which includes the bay shoreline. 7:42 is when high tide hits the golden gate and it will spread through the rest of the bay and cause flooding. i wouldn't be surprised if we have another one tomorrow and again sunday -- saturday and sunday. sunday is going to be our highest tide at about 7.1 feet. >> that's a look at what's going on as far as your watches and warnings right now. we have more rain in the forecast. i'll show you that hour by hour

felonies in connection with the blast that shattered windows on tabor place near second street. nobody was he pleaded not guilty to all charges. a free training program in san francisco will help chariot shuttle drivers find new jobs as muni operators. about 300 drivers will lose their jobs next month when chariot closes. mayor london breed announced a new training program yesterday. it's called city drive. it's a three-week course to prepare them for the commercial driver's test. the license allows to you drive a bus. >> if i lose a job, i don't know what i'm going to do. i bought a car because i figured we renewed a contract with a client. i figured i was secure. >> city drive will provide on-the-job training with muni so chariot drivers can continue to get paid during the transition. >> you see the chariot drivers all over san francisco. kind of shocking. all right. we're going to look outside

right now. our first look. update you on this b.a.r.t. situation. an earlier train was taken out of service. a disabled train on the . tioc anton direction. to the richmond-san rafael bridge, it's quiet this morning. not as wet as yesterday for sure. they have a wind advisory there. we'll pop down to the south bay. highway 87 in both directions there as you make your way on the right-hand side towards the san jose airport. but traffic is moving nicely. we did have ponding and flooding at the intersection of 87 and 280. heads up there. they're trying to get that drained out. we've had a couple of solo spinouts in the area. heads up. we'll have our tahoe report because it is snowing and there are chain requirements coming up after mike. >> sue, let's look at what's going on. you're never more than seven minutes away. golden gate, a light shower over your neighborhood right now on either side. breezy early, showers and thunderstorms, especially across the north bay. that's the best chance of

thunderstorms. cooler tonight with showers mainly in the north bay. we'll have a chance tomorrow. again, mainly in the north bay and for all of us sunday. that is it for a while. temperatures already in the mid 50s in many neighborhoods. in the mid to upper 50s. very mild. very muggy when you head outside. in that atmosphere, it's very buoyant this morning. but it just doesn't have the energy yesterday like we had yesterday to create as many showers and thunderstorms. that's why i lowered it down to a 1. mid to upper 40s. here's a look at south bay. we're still waiting. just north of 237. we had a heavier shower in san mateo and foster city. there may be minor ponding on 101 and 280 there. the marin head lands and towards richmond and kensington, moderate showers right now. the morning commute, i think it will be the tougher one. rain and breezes this morning.

we'll talk about the earthquake. that is today's earthquake. it looks an awful lot like yesterday's earthquake, doesn't it? just about the same region and about a couple of hundred yards away. this is today, which is to the west of 13. this is yesterday. the blue one over there, which is to the east of 13. notice they're less than a quarter of a mile apart and just about the same magnitude and the same depth. a 3.4 yesterday. a 3.5 today. yesterday, it woke you up at 4:42. today, 6:11.

it has happened again. another earthquake hit the piedmont area this morning. the magnitude 3.5 hit at 6:11. a few minutes ago on the hayward fault. it feels like deja vu, it is. this comes exactly one day after a 3.4 earthquake in the same exact area. we've received your phone calls from our abc 7 news viewers who say they felt the quake in oakland, hayward, san leandro, san francisco. no reports of any damage right now. same as yesterday. b.a.r.t. is inspecting tracks to make sure everything is okay. expect delays if you're headed

the temperatures starting to be scattered at noon and almost over at 7:00. sue? >> as we mentioned, we reiterate that b.a.r.t. is running slower due to the earthquake this morning. they're doing track inspections. it's routine. this is protocol. 10 to 15-minute delays systemwide on b.a.r.t. san rafael, southbound 101 past the sichk center in the north gate mall, they're getting a little wet with brake lights swords central san rafael. a 20-minute drive from novato across the golden gate bridge into san francisco. you have four lanes in your southbound commute headed into the city from marin county. a little windy on the span this moas ll. about 40 minutes f tracy up and over the altamont pass this morning. otherwise, pretty good with slow traffic across the san m bridge. we'll check on that in a bit. >> thank you, sue. crews worked quickly to save

a home in saratoga. the water was knee deep. it was recently plugged leaving overflow with nowhere to go. the crawl space beneath the home was flooded. >> it is nothing compared to what you see in the back. the back is like a huge lake. everything is -- because the water, everything is draining from that side. the creek is plugged. so it just all behind that wall. >> the homeowner spent the last 23 years at her home and she's never seen anything like this before. crews will be out today cleaning up the mess left by falling trees all over the bay area. >> crews in mill valley were cutting up this huge downed tree. it crushed the rear of a car and crashed into a home, which is across the street from marin horizons school. the tree narrowly missed the people inside. nobody got hurt. sadly, a different story in the east bay where a man died after a tree fell on thim. it happened in oakland on the embankments off interstate 580

near macarthur boulevard last night. they believe the victim lived along the side of the freeway. cal trans owns the land so it's in charge of figuring out what caused the tree to fall. a tree falling caused this collision. a couple was driving when they hit a tree that had come down. it happened before the lawrence expressway. the couple is okay. in marin county, downed power lines have closed part of lucas valley road. it's between big rock trail and nicasio valley road. public works says the damaged lines may not be repaired until later today. >> the santa clara fire department tweeted this video of damage caused when a tree went down on crestbrook drive in saratoga. the falling tree brought down power lines and a transformer. the fire department is warning the public to stay away from power lines because they could be energized. >> in east san jose, an intersection went dark when a truck crashed into a light pole.

police say the driver was taken to the hospital and traffic there was snarled for more than two hours. about 28 and a pg&e kcustomers are still withot power. power is out 07,385 in the peninsula. about 6,000 in the dark in the south bay. in the east bay, 1800 customers affected. travelers are warned to expect more delays at san francisco international airport due to the weather today. you're looking live at sfo. airport officials are already reporting 29 cancellations and 19 delays this morning. 188 flights were canceled yesterday due to the weather. another 477 were delayed. if the wind and rain aren't enough, now comes huge waves. there's a high surf warning in effect a lock the coastline for today and tomorrow. breakers could peak between 40 and 50 feet high.

a storm like this brings choppy seas, low visibility. it's dangerous for people who don't have to be in this environment. >> the coast guard says anyone heading out on the water should file a float plan and double-check your safety gear. it goes all up and down in red. that's where that high surf warning is. man, can you imagine the breakers. 25 to 40 feet and president thunderous noise they bring about. i love hearing that. i hate the damage that they cause. now, we've got the beginning of king tides today and a climax. 7.1 feet sunday. we may have to issue this. the national weather service for the next couple of days. it's from 5:00 this morning. high tide at 6.3 feet hits the golden gate at 7:42 and spreads throughout the bays and cause flooding along the bay shore. minor creek flooding up in the north bay from guerneville to

petaluma until 8:15. we've got the breezes being through 9:00 this morning. perpendicular to our east-west bridges and also if you're out on the ferry building. we just had a shower roll across the golden gate bridge. it's wet again. everything is caution because of the periods of showers we'll have today. the east bay, 8:00, looks like you get a lull but from 10:00 to 2:00, you have the best chance of showers today. in san francisco, lull is possible at 8:00. again, 10:00 to 2:00 for you. the last stop in the south bay, up to 2:00, you have waves of showers rolling through. notice temperatures this the normal bell shape curve from the mid-50s in the morning to near 60 in the afternoon, back into the mid-50s during the evening hours. we don't have the same setup as yesterday for thunderstorms. i'll show you that and the chances of rain coming up. >> got ponding going on there and rain showers happening right now at the richmond-san rafael bridge. it's dumping right here, right

now. extra caution. those are going through the fastrak lanes and they are definitely slow down which is good news. across the span, we have a high-wind advisory. let's go to the san mateo bridge where it's seeing rain. brake lights across the span for a 22-minute drive from 880 towards 101. no stalls or accidents. just slow and go across the span with high winds as well across the bay area bridges this morning. so green is good. we do see slowing fairly typical for your morning commute. we'll take a look at the drive times elsewhere. highway sbo 4 into the maze. the bay bridge backup here. another 12 minutes to the commute in san francisco. sfo looking good. just over ten minutes. new at 6:00, heads up if you own a kia or hyundai. they're being recalled because they could catch fire. the issue, improper fuel pipe repairs from a previous recall. several models are involved. owners will be notified by mail

even away from the tv with live doppler 7 on your phone. download the abc 7 news app. new at 6:00, a major data breach involving a popular video game fortnite. there was a vulnerability in the log-in system that let hackers break into players' accounts. hackers may have made in-game purchases using credit cards on file. the issues have now been fixed. no word how many people were affected by the breach. 80 million people play fortnite each month. also this morning, facebook has taken down hundreds of russia-linked pages, groups and accounts part of two disinformation operations. it's part of facebook's latest effort to fight fake news. officials say the pages and accounts had nearly 800,000 followers. promoting anti-nato sentiment and protest movements. facebook says the pages posed as independent news sites in eastern europe but were actually run by employees at russian state-owned news agency sputnik.
