3:02 pm
the initial diagnose did give them pause. one in 8 million are actually diagnosed with this. so when they then had amber, they had her tested immediately. she, too, got the same diagnosis eight years later. >> life expectancy is 12 years old. and i'm 20. that's not something that's in my mind anymore. i'm not really thinking about it because i know he's really good and i'm really good also. >> he really beat the odds and they have such a positive outlook about this. >> they go out and live their lives. mikel drives and they like to go cart. amber likes dancing and shooting videos and putting them on social media. i would think the blessing is mahail has a sibling that can emphasize with him. that must mean something to the family. >> we have some
3:03 pm
those are the times. >> they've got a ton of friends. >> i don't see the progeria part of me. they see me and my personality. >> he's 20 years old. not everybody with his disease is going to be 20. we know that as well. we're going to make the most of it. >> the oldest person ever made it to 26 years old. he's looking to beat that. i'm going to go further than that one. >> what i would like to say to that one is enjoy their life as much as possible, even for them, life's too short. you just got to make the most of it. when it comes to women and sky diving, amy shemalecki has become a legend, a member of re bull air force. she has taken it upon herself to make sure women get involved in the sport. we had her on talking about the first fly girl's summit. the second one just happened and it is a two-day event where they
3:04 pm
address issues facing women in sports, but aalso have a number of competitions where these women sky divers can partake. they had about 55 of them. >> that's a good number. >> it's a solid number. >> definitely some nerds up there, but they all do great. >> they had hundreds of women there to come learn, maybe get into the sport. they even had three new female certified sky diving instructors become certified that day. they had an entire day full of competition, and amy herself came in second believe it or not, there were three other women that placed first in the different categories. >> of course being a trail blazer and to bring people along the trail behind you. when people breakthrough a ceiling or the first person to do something or become the focus, it's great when they reach behind and help pull people up with them. >> one of these girls says when she got certified, it was a
3:05 pm
female certified instructor that helped her get into sky diving, guided her, made her feel more comfortable. it's cool seeing more women get involved. only 4% of instructors are female. >> sky diving is just about the most successful sport. it doesn't matter your age or sex or weight, everyone is going to fall. being a pool owner, you kind of expect stuff to get in the pool like leaves, sticks, that kind of thing. not this. this is in kent, england, the owner came outside and discovered that horse may have been there overnight. they called the firefighters. >> people in england have pools. >> i was thinking the same. thatoolve musha bee cold. >> you're right. they were worried it might be at risk for hypothermia, so they got a harness and a winch. >> how did the horse end up there? >> they think the horse walked
3:06 pm
on to the cover and fell in, but they think the horse may have been a stray. they say there's been a lot of overbreeding. people can't take care of them due to economic woes so the horses are let go and let starve to death. the rspca says last year they took in a record number of horses like this one. this one has a chip but it wasn't registered so they don't know who the horse belongs to but they have nearly a thousand horses that they're taking care of that were abandoned and need someplace to go. after all was said and done they were able to successfully remove her from water. these two were stolen from their mothers by breeders. they don't know if they were trafficked from laos, but the good news is they were rescued. they have two minders who have to feed them every three hours. they're getting puppy replacement milk because that's the closest to bear milk they can get. >> no one else is going to go out and milk a bear.
3:07 pm
they say even though the situation is critical, they think they're going to be okay because they're in the hands of four paws and they're caring for them around the clock. as regular drivers we need to pay attention to the road. as a bus driver, you need to pay attention to everything. this bus is stopped, parked, this elderly woman walks up to enter the rear part of the bus and as she's stepping up, they didn't see her. >> her legs went under the back wheels, man. >> that's terrible. there are mirrors, sensors, all kinds of things that this bus driver should have been paying attention to. >> as she's stepping up to get on, falls off, right over her and keeps moving. people saw her laying there in agonizing pain. they pull around and help her and pull her to the side of the road. she was taken to the hospital. she had fractures to both legs. the bus driver was arrested.
3:08 pm
he says he didn't feel her or see her. this couple needed to board the bus. mom and dad trying to get to the hospital because mom's in labor. they were just about 3 miles away from the hospital when the little one was like, yep, i got no time. i'm here. mom gave birth to a healthy baby. >> did they take them to the hospital or drop them off at the nearest bus stop. mixing up some cocktails with a twist. here we go. see the slick bar tending tricks that will leave you thirsty for more. >> that was sick. >> and this young athlete's reading a special note. >> the end of that note takes her breath away. >> the story behind the huge news that brings on the happy tears. >> brought to you by reeses, not sorry.
3:09 pm
