woman sitting on a cushion calaveras avenue near blacow. she doesn't remember what happened and they have no witnesses. a person found dead in a bunker in san francisco. coast guard crews and san francisco firefighters came across the victim below the cliff house while answering a call about a boat in distress. the call ended up being unfounded. investigators say it appears the victim lived inside the old military bunker and died there. two people are recovering after a backyard deck collapse in san francisco. sky7 flew above the scene as you can see from exclusive technology. this happened at 39th near moraga street in outer sunset. building inspectors are working to see what went wrong. both victims are expected to be okay. happening today, governor gavin newsom plans to visit a youth facility in stockton. he'll tour the facility's computer coding and construction labor programs which help reduce recidivism.

earlier this nont nemonth newso he wanted to move it to health d it would provide youth . offenders more opportunities to become successful when released. uber says either focused on keeping workers safe this year. this comes after cnn obtained an internal memo from uber which found employees are underworked, overpaid and at times traumatized. it looked at the special investigations unit. it investigates serious incidents involving drivers and passengers. they involve threats, assault, rape, theft, and serious traffic incidents. the memo says as recently as may of last year the unit handled about 1200 cases every week. it warned of mental health risks to investigators. even the potential of suicide. uber said it made changes since reviewing the memo. two groups are holding counter-protests in kentucky today over the high school involved in a controversial video. many of you have seen this video

with students from covington catholic high school. as you can see a native american man in washington, d.c., standing across from one of the students. now, as you can see the teenager is staring at the man while others around him appear to be cheering. this morning the indian movement chapter will end a peace vigil to end racism. the teenager say the video was taken out of context. they say they were being called hateful things by a different group before the recording. people who support the students are rallying at the high school today. by the way, the school has condemned the students' behavior. new this morning broadway star carol channing had interesting ideas for her final resting place. according to media partner, mercury news, the san francisco native had talked about having her ashes spread over the golden gate bridge or being buried between the curran and geary theaters. city ordinances won't allow that second option but the owner of the theater is looking at other ways to honor the three-time

jcpenney could be the next iconic retailer to file for bankruptcy. they have downgraded it one step closer to junk status. their stock fell below a dollar for the last time last month. sales over the holidays down 3.5% and penneys says it plans more store closings. new at 6:00, a hotel getting a $20 million upgrade. renovations at flamingo resort and spa will begin next year. the property manager wants to move the entrance so visitors can see the pool from the lobby. they plan to add a poolside bar, remodel the restaurant and focus more on hosting events. the upgrade is expected to be complete by summer of 2020. in the north bay, marin county reportedly reached its gas emission goals years ahead of their expected target date. of from 2005 to 2016 it reduced by 19%, more than 400,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

moment. there's a fire truck in the mix this morning. >> there's a band now marching down the street. >> there is a band. a drumline and horn section. more than 1,000 firefighters across the u.s. and canada were in los angeles as part of an international conference. they were scheduled to march on behalf of the striking educators today. >> yeah. this is just a reminder, the second largest school district in the company. they have 600,000 students. the schools are still open but they have take skeleton staff. they are just trying to make do with what they have. negotiations are ongoing, the mayor has been involved. we'll see if this gets done. this is now the fifth day of negotiations with city hall and still no deal. of course, we're continuing to watch what happens in the east bay as oakland teachers have to make a decision soon if they are going to follow the lead. >> there we go. now the fire truck leading the way this morning. looks like the teachers have quite a bit of support. i know parents have been keeping

allegation. >> officials say they detained brown, his bodyguard and another person yesterday after a woman filed a rape complaint. this morning those three remain in custody. brown's publicist at sony music have not commented on what happened. brown has been in repeated legal trouble since pleading guilty to assaulting his then girlfriend rihanna in 2009. >> new overnight soccer superstar cristiano ronaldo pleads guilty to tax fraud in spain. he was accused of using shell comes outside of spain to hide millions from image rights. renaldo agreed to a plea deal, 20 month jail sentence but unlikely he'll spend time. in spain, a judge can suspend sentences of two years or less for first time offenders. he must pay $16 million in fines. happening today, wildfire survivors will rally at the state capital. they want lawmakers to prevent a
