off. so -- >> we went driving in the mountains and then i went walking in the dirt and felt even though all of those things caused me pain, i knew that it was going to be the last time i felt non-phantom sensation and pain on that part of my body. >> those are things we take for granted. >> it's hard for us to understand but when you've lived with it for as long as and she's taking this drastic measure. >> the surgery was in october of last year. she got into more detail as to what happened. in fact, what we have here is the moment she was getting fit for the casting process for her prosthetic. but while she was there, she was given the opportunity that she could try it out and she figures she'd be happy. >> i feel this crushing exhaustion and apprehension. >> so what do you do? go eat junk food.

>> is there neigh sugar and dairy and cookies can't fix. >> it turns out there is nothing. she had her fix of yummy ice cream and that made her feel better and she felt comfort enough that here we go, you can see right here the moment she was able to try on her prosthetic and start taking her first steps. >> that has to feel somewhat liberating for her to be able to walk without pain. >> the cool thing is, she has documented all sorts of information when it comes to this journey which would be use to feel other people who might be able to go through it. check out her channel footless joe. there are times you find yourself in situations and you have to think fast. this dude is here under the hood of his car. >> whoa! >> what the hell? >> suddenly , poof, you see he jumps back? that's when the battery exploded, created a fireball. >> battery exploded. what? >> he not only got a face full of flame but a head full of
