two families tonight. the sheriff office has located 18 year-old and her boyfriend, 21 year-old hernandez. they were found safe skb well at 4:30 p.m. in the mountains in the national forest. the couple jeep was stuck in the snow. they were safe and in good spirits inside the jeep. they left san francisco on wednesday to go camping. and were expected to return home friday. but didn't. the family reported them missing saturday and the glen county sheriff office initiated a search on sunday. her dad and carloss family expect to be reunited with the couple within 30 minutes. >> what a relief. thank you. a huge rumble shook a mother and daughter from san jose during the visit. take a look at this. a rock slide they say a huge area of snow came crashing down. then about five minutes later,

part of the mountain followed. this happened this morning. all right outside their window. they are shaken by okay. >> you expect it there. in the east bay snow fell today. we were out where we found wind flurries. the summit is nearly 4,000 feet high. keep in mind. we're live tonight. unbelievable. look at that behind you. >> right on queue. it has been snowing off and on here. we're actually near the summit here. just below 3,800 feet. as spencer described it. mix precipitation. at the moment it's snowing. and a few minutes later it might rain a bit. the rangers up here are trying to make sure it's safe when the visitors show up tomorrow. >> this maybe just a preview of coming attractions near the

mount hamilton is blanketed in snow. this time lapse video taken of the last 24 hours. you can hardly see anything. it's a white house. the observatory is at the top of the mountain above 4,000 feet. the highest point in the bay area. >> we continue the team coverage from there. >> the conditions look like this heading to mount hamilton this afternoon. rain turned to snow. light flurries fall and sticking to the ground. just below 4,000 feet. >> so far this year it's been the most i have seen. we'll see. >> further up the summit the intensity picked up. making it seem as though we were entering a winter wonder land. >> it came down it started coming down good around30.im a year uhe. this isn't the most i have ever

and napa county. check out this snow at lake level in lake port. this is clear lake. it rarely snows this low. elevation of about 1,400 feet. we want to see the whether where you live. use the hash tag. to pictures sp videos when you post them. >> sky 7 oever head this afternoon as rescuers carried a dolphin away from the beach. where it washed ashore. the animal didn't look to be in good condition. >> live with the latest. this is video you'll see only here. >> it was quite a dramatic scene here. fot long ago the beach was full of folks from the marine mammal center and people just trying to help out. you can see this a striped dolphin spotted in the surf. beached. a few hours ago. it didn't look great. and a number of residents kaem

down to try and help. and fortunately somebody called the marine mammal center. quickly veterinarians and folks who know about the animals came down to the beach to assess the situation. the marine mammal center says a vet was able to give the animal a sedative to try and calm it down. they used a small stretcher to lift the dolphin out of the water. bring it up across the beach into the parking lot. where they loaded the animal into a van. we spoke to the folks at the center who said this variety of dolphin a striped dold fin is actually very rare for san francisco. and bay area beaches. but occasionally are seen in the area. we spoke to people a few women who live around here who came down and try to help. >> i saw a lot of people trying to push the dolphin into the ocean. it was soaking wet. it's one of the coldest days i can remember. >> it was splashing around and

clearly in pain. it had blood out of the under sigh. by the tail. >> dolphins are not good at being out of water. they spend 99% of the time in the water. 100% of the time in the water. a little bit of time at the surface. they're not built like seals and sea lions. >> it's unclear what is wrong with the dolphin. you saw the injuries on the under side and tail. that woman speaking about it. the center took the animal back to the facility. hopefully the dolphin will be okay. we'll let you know if we learn anything about the condition. we have information on our w site. there's a special hot line you can call 24 hours a day seven days a week if you see a dolphin or marine mammal in trouble on the beach. the center will come out and try to help.

precipitation. parts of the hills. down around mount hamilton and higher elevations in the santa cruz mountains. further north lots of snow. over to lake county. a winter storm warning is in effect for portions of lake county above 1,500 feet until 7:00 tomorrow morning. generally up to four inches of snow expected. locations could get seven inches with reduced visibility. temperatures right now in the mid-40s. in san francisco. oakland and mountain view. san jose. this is the view you can see it is raining. it looks steady. low to mid-40s in napa. concord. the golden gate bridge it was wet and raining.

traffic is moving nice. the pavement is slippery. a mix of snow and showers over night through tomorrow morning. very cold the next few mornings. temperatures will drop below freezing. dry midweek. but the rain returns friday. current rain this storm ranks one. more showers briefly heavy chance of isolated thunder. but snow is the thing we're all focusing on. it's coming down to about elevation of 1,000 feet. here's the forecast. into the later hours tonight. about 10:30. widespread snow in the high elevations. the rain will become widespread. precipitation could be locally heavy. it will get heavy and extensive after midnight into the morning commute. wet pavement for the morning commute probably slippery pavement and possibly black ice as well. later in the day tomorrow we'll see the storm taper off. pockets of precipitation will reform later into the evening.

this was the summit not much later. those really are snow flurries captured by a fire surveillance camera. at 2,500 feet. deputy chief showed us the live feed. >> we had a snow flurry earlier. >> it covers 14 mountain tops. at 4,300 feet. and there. not only did the snow come down with authority. it stuck to the ground. here's a freeze frame from the camera. it almost looks like tahoe. >> it is the tallest peek we have in the north bay. it makes sense. >> waters rage. but flurries stole the headlines. what will tomorrow bring? >> i would imagine a couple, two to four inches of snow. that will last through the day. >> betting on it? >> no. >> if you see snow tomorrow it will be bes visible from the north just below the summit.
