4:29. >> good morning to you. hi. let see what our weather has in store today. am i right there's not going to be rain today. >> no, there is. a little bit. >> sprinkles on my way in, actually. >> i can't keep up with this. >> there it is on live doppler 7. it's mainly from san francisco southward. you can see across the dumbarton bridge right now. towards fremont. let me put this into motion. it's moving from northwest to southeast. the closer you are to the coast, the more likely you are going to deal with a little bit of moisture in the form of light showers. even snow in the santa cruz mountains as temperatures are near freezing. we're freezing in danville. 32. a lot of mid 30s inland and upper 30s to low 40s around the bay. oakland and san francisco around the mid-40s. afternoon temperatures will top out in the low to mid-50s and see the specks of green. that's your ran donnal shower. >> we had a sig-alert in oakland.

a pick yun truck that flipped over and caught fire before the 580 merge. we temporarily had all lanes blocked. it really did not last too long. emergency crews were able to clear that fairly quickly. giving you the thumbs up. back in the green. not seeing residual delays. a quick check of the bay bridge toll plaza. stackup on either side. no issues if you're using fastrak and no metering lights. we should have under an hour until that happens. abc 7 news is committed to building a better bay area. b.a.r.t. is an integral part of that. we're digging into the challenges facing the agency. >> starting today, b.a.r.t. is starting later as the transbay tube is retrofitted to withstand a major earthquake. we're waiting for the first train to leave the station with amy hollyfield. >> reporter: good morning, jessica. these are the people being impacted by this new normal at b.a.r.t. this is a line of people all waiting to catch a bus or -- that they've been told will get them to san francisco.

there are no trains running right now. there are employees out here who are helping guide people and answer their questions. but we've also heard some questions asked that they didn't quite know the answers to. there is some confusion on this first day of this new service. b.a.r.t. does have buses that will get people to san francisco. we've got a line here, though, in antioch. also look at this line of people. a picture of people waiting for the bus at pittsburg bay point station. we're hearing a second line is developing there. a lot of frustration there as people are very confused. we're also hearing of issues that people didn't quite think of. we met a man who needed to load up his clipper card, but of course, the station is closed. >> i knew about it. they say a lot of stuff about it. it's just during the morning, the clipper card, getting to the bus, it's closed right now. how can i get to the bus?

that's what it is. the clipper should be open in bay point. but i need to get from here to bay point, right? how am i going to do that? >> reporter: here is the bus leaving antioch. this bus is headed -- left a few minutes ago headed to pittsburg to pick up people there and get them to san francisco. i have want to show you a couple buses here. one just pulled up wi: looks li people are going into this station, though. maybe to get their cards read? why do you have to go into the station? why do you have to go into the station right now? >> i don't know. let me try to get that question answered as we're all learning this new normal on this first mornng of this new system. no trains running because of at ethquake retrofit project

that's expected to last for 3 1/2 years. hopefully, this will get smoothed out soon because they've got 3 1/2 years to deal with this. reporting live from antioch, amy hllyfield, abc 7 news. amy, thank you. we'll let you find out what's going on with the station now looking to be open. abc 7 news is following the bay area b.a.r.t. 1350er7b of our building a better bay area. join us to see what it's like to ride b.a.r.t. now and what -- a safer b.a.r.t. means a better bay area for all of us. a truck drove into the living room of a home in antioch. this happened just before midnight on golden bear drive near hillcrest avenue. the homeowner said he was sleeping when he heard a loud boom. the truck was reportedly being chased by police. no one inside the home was hurt. vallejo police shot a driver sitting in a car at a taco bell drive-through.

officers say they opened fire when the driver reached for a gun. hearing from the victim's family. they aren't buying the officer's version of the story. reporter hasan went to the memorial labs night. >> family and friends of willie mccoy are mourning after he was fatally shot by police while parked in the drive-through line at this taco bell in vallejo. >> i'm outraged. this community is outraged. he's not robbing taco bell. he's in the drive-through trying to get something to eat. >> police got a call after 10:30 p.m. on saturday about a mercedes parked in the drive-through line with the driver slumped over. once on scene, the police checked the vehicle. >> he's passed out but the car is in drive. in a statement, vallejo police claimed that mccoy had a gun in his lap and when he started to move, they told him to keep his hands visible. they went on to say, quote, the

driver quickly reached for the handgun on his left. in fear of his own safety, the officers discharged be their weapons. >> if you wake up out your sleep, you're going to do any kind of movement or just to wake up or whatever. that could be a threatening movement just waking up to these scary police out here. >> older brother mark mccoy admits his brother had trouble with the law in the past. he doesn't know why he was slumped over but the rapper had been touring and was exhausted. those who came out and set up a memorial in honor of mccoy. the family is looking into conducting their own investigation. in vallejo, abc 7 news. the ntsb has finished another round of interviews in this investigation into the pipe, the gas pipeline fire in san francisco's richmond district. the board is saying it will send a three to four-foot piece of a punctured pipeline back to washington so specialists can take a look at the material.

investigators say the preliminary report is about two weeks. muni service on the 38 geary bus line will no longer be rerouted off geary boulevard at parker avenue, the site of last week's explosion. new this morning, mayor london breed is hoping to remove barriers to building housing in the city. according to the chronicle, the mayor plans to introduce legislation to eliminate the fees the city charges with affordable housing projects are built or renovated. in the last fiscal year. the department of building -- collected $1.5 million in the permit fees. >> what's going on. first we'll start by looking at our temperature change. we're cooler in most areas. we'll go neighborhood level and do it in -- noe i valley, 42. ocean beach at 46. those are the warmer spots. pretty much the warmest spot around. union city 41.

38 at 8:00. sunshine there. the clouds gather as we hit the low 50s from noon to 4:00. back down to 45 degrees at 8:00. as far as those temperatures right now as we've talked about, they are just a little bit below average. anything that does fall this morning, those random showers, could have a little mixture of snow and graupel in them. could be interesting in another shower develops. we're keeping on it. alexis is with me right now to find out about the commute. >> overall, looking quiet. a couple issues overnight. we're looking at mostly light conditions here. walnut creek, southbound 680 as you approach the highway 24 interchange. all is looking good. know that we have various lanes closed between olympic and rutger. i'll keep an eye on that and make sure it doesn't cause a delay into the walnut creek stretch. as of now, no issues. quick check of drive times. little surprised we're actually

in the green here. westbound 580, trace toy dublin. typically that's in the yellow. that's coming in at 38 minutes. dublin to mission boulevard at 15. northbound 85, 101 to cupertino, loss in the green at 15 minutes. happening today, public school teachers in denver, colorado, are going on strike over salaries and bonus. substitutes and administrators will staff some classrooms. it's expected to cause significant disruptions to 90,000 students. the teachers union and the district have not been able to agree on -- reach an agreement and in the bay area as well, oakland teachers warn that they, too, could walk out by the end of the month because of a labor dispute. oakland unified district says negotiation rs ongoing to avert a strike here. the pilot who died when his single engine plane crashed into the side of mt. diablo. the 48-year-old resident of plaster county -- he loved music

and was a be madison counadisoad enthusiast. crews were at the site yesterday to recover his body. faa and ntsb investigators will determine why the plane went down. now to the peninsula. a sinkhole in san mateo county is getting bigger. take a look at these pictures on the right from chp's office in redwood city. the hole opened up on highway 35 last week and has taken out an entire lane of traffic. both lanes are closed between page mill road and highway 9. cal trans hopes to have it repaired and back open by next tuesday, which is the 19th the. another blow for victims of the camp fire. many evacuees are forced to relocate again. the l.a. times says paradise and county officials reversed a decision that allowed people to live in rvs on their burned properties. at least 130 families are

cedar boulevard, fremont, that could head to the sunol grade. here we go. this morning at 7:00, just random showers the closer you are to the coast. as we head towards 9:00, there's a sprinkle here and there. as we head towards noon, the better chance moves up into the north bay. that's where it's going to stay. still a random shower is possible for the rers of us at 7:00. then it's over. by overnight, fog fills in, in the north bay because of the decreasing in the clouds. let's take a quick look at how much will fall out of these random light showers. not a whole lot throughout the day. you get caught under one, .02 inches of rain. it makes things slick for your commute. the heavier storm, couple of inches of rain on the way. here's alexis. we've had a nice start to the monday morning commute. looking at the traffic maps, one issue in the south bay. if you're traveling on the northbound 280 side of that interstate and trying to get off
