up. like taylor memorial on 12th street and east bay bible church will open their doors to students who can hang out during school hours. the churches will be staffed by volunteers as well as by people from the teachers union. they'll provide food and activities for students. another option, a bit more expensive is daycare. i spoke to several child care centers who are getting bombarded with calls from parents. it's tough to get them into daycare programs now since most are at capacity. some places, like betty's children academy in east oakland. they're hiring two extra teachers to help with the influx of students. >> it's just parents in a panic mode or not knowing what to do with their child. they have to go to work. it is difficult. it does put a hardship on the parents and us. now at 6:30, sky 7 over we try to make it work for oakland, technical high school where teachers are about to walk everybody. off the job and on to the picket >> reporter: now, for a list of line as they begin a strike.
