in this morning's sports. >> good morning, everybody. the warriors will face the team that has spent all of its energy the past two years targeting the champs, the houston rockets. tonight 5:30 right here on abc 7. steph curry may have started the three-ball revolution. he hit ten threes against the kings on thursday night. but james harden and the rockets, they take this thing to extremes. they attempted -- in one game they attempted 70 threes. that's nuts! steve kerr says, yeah, times have changed. >> you can look at the three-point numbers, the attempts have gone way up for everybody across the board. but so has pace. so part of the idea is get the ball up the floor as quickly as possible. that was never really something that was done when i was playing. you know, if you shot a quick three in transition, the coach would look at you, i don't care who it was, look at you and say what are you doing? we can get that shot any time we want. >> chase center under construction under way for a littl over two years. for the first time steph curry toured the premise.

clouds have increased. we'll see partly cloudy skies today but, boy, it was cold this morning and it's still pretty cool out there with plenty of numbers in the 30s. so it's going to take a little while to thaw out. 34 in santa rosa as well as livermore. we've had the 40s from san francisco to oakland, but 33 by the delta. looking at 38 in gilroy. san jose, you are down to 35 this morning, so as you look at san francisco and the flag blowing, the wind will make it feel cool once again. we have been in this cool stretch, you know, for weeks, have it all. ttemper it's another subtropical fetch is aimed right at the bay area. looks like the focus could be north of the golden gate. still looking at some pretty big numbers coming in in terms of rainfall. a winter storm watch monday through wednesday here as the snow levels rise above 5,500 feet. in the sierra nevada waking up to 0 at southlake.
8:49 am
looking at the cold numbers this morning. a mainly dry weekend, could see a few sprinkles mendocino county but otherwise the widespread rain is getting delayed a little bit, waits until monday and tuesday. and tuesday is when likely we will see the heavier rain. so into that time frame, a 2 on our storm impact scale. we're looking at anywhere from 3.5 inches to 5 inches. could see 7 in the coastal hills. and then down in the south bay we could only see an inch or so. so as the days continue to get closer an closer to the rain event, the models hopefully will get in better agreement. but you'll notice monday the rain hangs to the north. it's late monday into tuesday it sinks it's with eryn thursy push of energy on friday. so i want to show you the varying forecast malodels that shows tuesday rain by a half inch tuesday night in the north bay, not much elsewhere. by thursday morning we're up to
8:50 am
perhaps 2 inches to 3 inches in the north bay, much lesser amounts south. let's go to this next forecast model that wants to bring over 6 inches by thursday morning and over 2.5 inches by thursday night. so for now we'll blend the two and wait until you see consensus. but we are still looking at that event in the sierra nevada to bring the rain on top of maybe 10, 15 inches of snow and that's going to bring some problems in terms of the snow melt. the rivers, the streams up in the mountains, and looking at 2 to 4 feet above 8,000 feet. so a wild variety going on next week. today 55 in san francisco, 58 in oakland, partly cloudy. upper 50s on the peninsula. and then in san jose looking at 59. 56 in napa tonight with the clouds. more of us in the 40s. in fact most of us it will be chilly but not as cold and the accuweather seven-day forecast, today the chinese new year parade looking dry and a bit on the mild side towards 4:00 or 5:00.
