another round of storms it moving in. that means sausalito is bracing for an impact. >> a huge mudslide happened earlier this month and amy hollyfield is live there with the preparations. >> good morning, reggie. sausalito wants you to know there's a sandbag station available and ready to go as everyone gets ready for the storm up in the north bay hills. they say there could be as much as 5 to 9 inches of rain. they're saying gusty winds also. they want residents to be prepared. officials will keep a close eye on the mudslide sausalito. the city will work with cal trans and the national park service to monitor that hillside. they're going to be watching the storm drain system there. so they want everyone area. they're asking residents to pitch in, in their own neighborhoods saying if you see a clogged drain and you don't see work crews in the area, take

it upon yourself to grab the leaves that are clogging that drain and get them out of there. open that up to prevent flooding in your neighborhood. back to the sandbag station, it opens at 7:00 in the morning. available all day until about 3:00 in the afternoon. if you need sandbags, this is where you can get them. they want you to be ready to go if you want to put these in place to help protect your property. reporting live in sausalito, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. thank you, amy. san francisco police are investigating a shooting in north beach. police were called last night before 10:30. you can see crime scene tape blocking off the area along with several evidence markers on the ground. police haven't said what led up to the shooting or how serious the victim's injuries are. now to an exclusive. the eye-team obtained information about the san defender, jeff adachi. >> he died on friday.

a woman called 9-1-1 that evening and she's disappeared. here's dan noyes. >> it's going on three years since he died. i can now report he sought help from two d back in december during the last trial he would ever work. >> chief attorney in the san francisco public defender's office matt gonzalez is in charge after jeff adachi passed away on friday. he sought treatment for persistent cough in his last trial. he was referred to a specialist who ran a battery of tests. we don't know the specialist or the test results tonight. paramedics found him unresponsive in this apartment near be hoyt tower. 5:41 p.m. friday paramedics were called. paramedics arrived and started cpr and transported adachi to california pacific medical center where he was pronounced dead at 6:54 p.m. >> they left katerina in the

apartment in what police consider a crime scene. police sources tell me officers are upset they were dispatched three hours after the 911 call. by then, katerina was gone. she has not been questioned by police about what happened that night. i reached a realtor for sotheby's, a key witness in the investigation, also adachi's close friend. >> she's been a big part of my life for the last, i would say the last few years. >> platonic >> absolutely platonic. >> kerts told police and me she gave keys to adachi to the apartment who was excited about his friend katerina coming from out of town. he complained about stomach pains at a restaurant. they took an uber to the apartment and became unresponsive. >> she was hysterical and she said, suzie, suzie, something is wrong with jeff. please come, please, please. i don't know what to do. >> police took these photos friday night.

the apartment interior, unmade bed, empty alcohol bottles, cannabis gum is they asked the building owner permission to go back saturday. he refused. they broke down the door early today to take additional pictures. >> police want to find katerina. they don't know her last name. an autopsy was performed on sunday along with a blood test. we finally may find out how and why jeff adachi died. dan noyes. you can read more about his report about his legacy as public defender on abc7news.com. let's get a look at what's going on as far as all of our watches and warnings out there. it's a flood watch that starts at noon today for the north bay. it's a flood watch because we're looking at the river specifically, the napa and the russian rivers after 3 to 5 inches of rain. 6 to 9 in the mountains here.

that's all going to runoff and cause the rivers to flood. at noon today to 4:00 thursday. this is going to be a much longer event. we'll have to keep an eye on the rivers. for small streams, urban flooding, parking lots, streets, those things, the rest of the bay is in that. that starts at 4:00 this afternoon through 4:00 wednesday. this is a faster event. flash flood watch that's going to happen quicker. you need to be prepared faster for the rising -- rapid rises in the creeks, streams and ponds and the roadways. as far as some of our neighborhoods, let's start in the north bay. 8:00, you can see light rain and it gets heavier and steadier and temperatures climb into the mid-50s. as far as san francisco goes, we got a chance of a shower at 10:00 and look it's going to be windy and wet from noon to at least 10:00 with temperatures around 54 to 56 degrees. south bay, you're going to stay relatively dry through at least 10:00. scattered showers are possible this afternoon and this evening.
