now an accuweather update from abc 7 news. let's take a look at live doppler 7, we see wave after wave moderate to heavy rain drenching the north bay and now through the central part of the bay area daily city, san francisco, berkley and oakland. with more poised offshore to continue moving in this evening and overnight. a flood warning goes into effect at 6:30 this evening on the russian river in sonoma county until 6:30 friday evening. local officials urged people to voluntarily evacuate as the flooding is likely to be severe. there's allegation a flood warning going into effect 10:30 tonight on the napa river in effect until 10:30 friday night.

nearly 79,000 people are affected by this warning. you can see the wider area way beyond the immediate bay area covered by a flood warning for rivers, streams, creeks and low-lying areas. i'm going to go to the storm impact scale. this storm is strong. it ranks 3 on the impact scale. so for today and tonight we expect flooding risk is high and more moderate to heavy rain. our forecast 4:00 p.m. this afternoon, you can see going into the evening hours the commute will be a hazardous one as the heavy rain will just continue to spread not only through the north bay but to other parts of the bay area as well. that pattern will continue into the late night and overnight hours. tune into abc 7 news at 4:00 p.m. and i'll have all the latest on this storm along with all the watches, warnings and advisories. the abc storm impact scale today's storm is level 3, that means a strong storm. look out for flooding, hazards on the road and possible power outages. stay ahead of today's storm with
