be taken seriously. deputies are going door to door telling people to evacuate, and all of these orders should not be ignored. they are clearing out. this u-haul is packed tight. nw the owners friends are showing up to get as many valuables as possible out. >> i'm going to be out of business for a couple months probably. >> reporter: officials expect the live tore rise to 46 feet by wednesday night. >> if it comes up ten more feet, it will be in this neighborhood. >> reporter: that's why glenn hurley is leaving his home, but not before raising off much as he can off the ground, including his washer and dryer. >> i have a flat bottom boat and two kayaks down there. >> reporter: for the first time the county is evacuating its cold weather shelter and moving the homeless to the santa rosa

pavilion. large buses were brought in to move as many as 100 people. >> it's going to be dangerous. these roads will be impassable. nobody will get in or out without a boat or water rescue vehicle. >> reporter: a deputy came here to get her up and out. >> i said we're here to tell you that the evacuation bus is right across the street. >> reporter: the russian river is expected to impact businesses, as well. accessing anything downtown will be impossible. in fact, there's someone just over my left shoulder who has to turn around because this road is closed due to the rising water levels. tomorrow's storm levels may not be record breaking, but one sergeant did tell me that he expects it to be in the top five of the strongest in the county's history. >> lisa, thank you. our deluge is expected to swell

the russian river 14 feet above flood stage by tomorrow night. our media partners determined the spots in guerneville likely to suffer flooding if that happens. the safeway store, the post office, and the elementary school. let's go to sandhya patel with live doppler 7. >> yeah, that atmospheric river is shifting, so other parts of the bay area are seeing the soaking rain. let's get to live doppler seven and talk about where it's coming down still in the north bay. on street level radar, petaluma hill road, seeing rainfall. there are flood warnings for much of the north bay, for good reason. they have been getting soaked from vacaville heading into fairfield. daley city, san francisco seeing some of that drenching rain. tracking where the heaviest

people earlier today. crews sloshed through knee hide mud to make that rescue. >> going through the mud, the tree was over the top of me. it happened so fast, you don't even know. i see an image of a tree, it's not there, it's there. you know what i mean? >> crack, crack, crack. we heard the trees, we saw a giant like these huge redwoods coming down. >> the stretch of the highway is now closed indefinitely. >> i'm kate larson, live in santa rosa where it's been raining for two days. not only one of the wettest months but the wettest way on record with six inches of rain. visitors to the golden gate bridge likely had something in mind besides ponchos when they planned their day. on the north end of the bridge, new k-rails were set up to catch mud or debris.

while rain continues to soften the hillside, the city is trying to recover from the hillside that damaged or destroyed eight homes on valentine's day. in fairfax, traffic worked through a flooded intersection on sir francis drake boulevard that left this pickup truck stuck in the rising mud-tinged water. once the sun set, north bay roads were black. with only tail and headlights visible to drivers battling through the rain. a tough night to deliver pizza said justin. >> people falling off the road, spinning out. police are closing off a lot of the area. >> reporter: in sonoma county, there was flooding near stoney point road. and in santa rosa, six inches of rain met records. >> especially with us being in the drought for so long, we needed it. but honestly, it's crazy.

>> reporter: don't get stuck in one of those flooded out roadways. the message remains the same. turn around or go around. as for justin, that pizza delivery man, he says that people have been very understanding when he hasn't shown up on time. he has been delivering for 12 straight hours. a popular night for delivery dinner. kate larson, "abc7 news." >> kate, thank you. here's a good reason not to ignore flooded warnings. crews had to rescue a driver who went around barricades and ended up in a flooded ditch on stoney point road. >> the napa river is expected to peak above flood stage tomorrow morning. "abc7 news" discovered several areas in napa already water logged. napa has closed some public areas and parks. flooding is not expected in downtown. a bypass built in 2015 is working as designed.

i'm meteorologist drew tuma. take a look at is.eoray has than5 inches of rainfallretoem0o inch. that's 300 times more in the north bay than the south bay. a wide range of rainfall totals with this event. this is the famous spillway in napa county a week ago. dry as can be. look at that. and then add a storm that dumps several inches of rain and take a look at what happens. water is overflowing and the spillway is active once again. the water goes into a hole, kind of like the drain in the kitchen sink, travels about 200 feet to a creek. the last time the reservoir overflowed was february of 2017. with all the rain, drenching the north bay, numerous rivers and creeks are rising very quickly. we have compiled a map on our
