this is the news guerneville hear. they hope to lift evacuation orders at noon today. >> it caused historic flooding in the north bay. amy hollyfield is live for us in guerneville this morning where the waters are finally starting to recede. amy? >> reporter: jess karks that means some residents will be getting a first glimpse of the damage done here. they'll be greeted by images like this one. some buildings you can't get into because of all of the water. here's more video of guerneville. you can get a glimpse of the town. the water is going down. the situation is improving. but there is stillwater. still debris on the roads. it's still a hazardous situation. residents who stayed behind to ride it out are now reflecting on what they experienced. >> that much more and it would have come in my living room. we had sandbags and everything. but it didn't comethat?

a man and that man later died. the district attorney's office has finished the investigation into the man's death. the sheriff's office says october, he attacked a deputy in millbrae. his family disputes the claims. officials will hold a news conference this morning with results of the investigation. now to a story that we first brought you yesterday on abc 7 mornings. a sad story. three siblings were killed in a crash in emeryville. they were on their way to san francisco. >> right. now we know the reason they were in the vehicle is because they got a call their father was in the hospital and might not make it. the chp says speed and the slick road appear to be factors in the collision on interstate 80. the victim's older brother identified his siblings who passed as eli, sarah and eva villarreal. a fourth sibling has fathers and a broken leg. and a bke theireeof t roaanhi aigas sleep

we've learned the identity of the woman buried in a landslide at ft. funston. she was walking with her dog and a friend friday when the hillside collapsed. her friend and the dog got out on time. they spent days searching for scarlett but they couldn't find her body. her family released a statement saying that she was a beautiful, sweet amazing woman who died in one of her favorite places with her sweet dog iris and her dear friend. mountain view police want you to take a close look at this sketch. a suspect wanted in the beating of a tourist walking on a trail. this man is roughly 6 feet tall and told his victim his name was jerry. he may have bite marks on either his hand or forearm. that's where the victim bit him. police say the victim was walking along the stevens creek trail near the bridge to creekside park when she was nig.

cheered from the board. hopefully not an issue. it always is. we're still heavy in hayward as well. three-car collision was blocking a middle lane. they cleared it from the board about 15 minutes ago. i'm still seeing heavy traffic from about state route 92. i think some folks are slowing down to take a look at that on the shoulder. northbound 101 before whipple road, we have a crash blocking the right lane. however, that one has not caused any delays. so far so good into redwood city. thanks, alexis. a scary sight inside san francisco's tallest building. >> the san francisco chronicle reports they found two cracked windows in the salesforce tower. one is on the 12th floor south facing window. the other faces east on the 14th floor. salesforce tower's owner, boston properties said the cracks are on interior panes of double-paned windows. there's no danger of glass falling to the street. the cause of the cracks is unknown. they are concerning considering

looking for the owner of a lost dog after a very sweet looking pit bull jumped into an officer's patrol car. >> he does look sweet. santa rosa police shared these photos saying, if this is your dog, please come and get him. he was spotted running loose in the area of hardy lane and russell avenue yesterday without a collar. the officer who found him says the gray pit bull jumped into the patrol car and he was happy to be found. the officer dropped off the dog at the pet care veterinary hospital in santa rosa. state water officials say february storms doubled the snow pack in the sierra from january. they conducted the third snow survey of the season. it's now 153% of average for this time of the year. this comes after they measured below average snow levels at the end of december. it's been really quite the last few months. last february, the snow pack at the same location was only at 37% of normal. it's really nice to see that.

san jose and morgan hill at 63. most of us in the upper 0s t ab th no towds thelow 50s. here's our setup. we've got a low to the north and to the south. look at all that rich moisture and humid air coming our way. that's why the storm is a 2 on the storm impact scale. from san francisco southward and from alameda southward, that area you see shaded, that's the potential for a thunderstorm tonight and tomorrow. more likely tonight when we're sleeping. the first sign of the rain coming in, here's our future radar at 6:00. it's across the north bay until we get to about midnight. there will be a few scattered showers elsewhere. light green, moderate to orange. that moves through about 8:00 in the morning. then we'll transition over to scattered showers by 11:00. that's what we have for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening hours.

rainfall totals are going to be heaviest across the north bay during the evening hours. but look at the rain that falls in about an 8-hour span. nearly three quarters of an inch to an inch. it will be a half inch in the north bay. no flood watches or wind advisories right now. thankfully. scattered showers sunday. the storm is 1 light. at the same time, we've got a winter storm warning for the sierra. another 1 to 2 feet of snow coming, alexis. >> oh, man. >> i know. don't need anymore, do they? mike was talking earlier this morning as well, the season has been extended into mid or late april. we've got all this snow. we've got to take advantage of it, right? today, not bad getting up there. if you are trying to get there this weekend, there is going to be the better day to go. tomorrow things get tougher. squaw alpine in north star, you'll have to use chains headed there. heavenly, u.s. 50 is not in a chain requirement right now. keep that in mind.

a low to the north and a low to our south. look at all that humid mild air coming at us. these two are going to converge on top of us tonight. for now, everything is quiet. but eventually from san francisco southward, you can see alameda southward, east bay shore into the south bay. that's the best chance for a thunderstorm tonight and tomorrow. at 6:00 this evening, there's a slight chance of a stray shower. a little bit of light rain developing in the north bay. some renegade showers during the evening hours. they become more numerous by midnight. you can see some yellows and oranges. moderate and then some reds overnight. that's when the thunderstorms are possible with brief heavy rain. good news, most of us will be sleeping at the time. there will be ponding on the roadways. by 8:00, we'll transition over to scattered showers that will continue during the afternoon hours and into the evening hours. but they will not be as heavy. notice, you don't see yellows, oranges or reds there. we are going to get a quick burst of heavy rain starting at midnight. you can see a few scattered
