the order of the day. isolated showers are with us throughout the late morning, the early afternoon. we're pakistrtly cloudy tonight then a break for the monday morning commute. by the middle of the week, heavy rain returns. we'll track it for you, coming up. >> lisa, thank you. oakland teachers are set to vote on a tentative agreement that would end their seven-day strike. many of these agitators aren't just talking about the agreement but also an altercation that took place on friday. abc 7 news reporter luz pena has more. >> reporter: tensions were high in oakland when several teachers were picketing. >> we had locked arms and were preventing her from entering, as we were instructed. >> reporter: in this video, board member jumoke hodge is seen grabbing a teacher's neck.

that teacher was tanisha wright. >> i thought it was accidental, there was a lot of pushing and shoving. then it just went on for a long time and got tight to the point that it was, you know, painful and restrictive. >> reporter: in a statement to abc 7 news, the board member explained that she had been pushed by protesters. "i would never have intentionally touched another person that way." these educators want the incident behind them. >> this tentative agreement, a lot of people are not happy with it. they want to see more school nurses. they want to see better ratios of school nurses to students. they want to see restorative justice programs not cut. >> reporter: the agreement includes a 11% salary increase over four years with a one-time bonus, a decrease in class

sizes, and the caseloads of nurses and school counselors. luz pena, abc 7 news. residents in san anselmo are back in their homes after they were evacuated because of a day-long police standoff. members of the sw.w.a.t. team went into the home to find the suspect died. police say the suspect died from apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. officers were called to the house after someone called 911 reporting gunshots. the suspect barricaded himself inside, prompting the evacuations. a long time member of the abc 7 news family tells us what they told him. >> they told us the houses will be evacuated while they look for a suspect on a crime they have under way. >> the suspect's name has not been released. a person who was inside the home when the shots were fired managed to run out to safety. in san jose, police are increasing patrols in the neighborhood where a woman was found dead in her home on

thursday. we now know the identity of that woman. abc 7 news reporter lisa amin gu gulezian has more. >> reporter: bambi larson, mother of two adult children, was found dead inside her home. a close friend of larson's did not want to be seen on camera. >> it's just so surreal. i can't imagine anyone wanting to harm this lady. she's beautiful person. >> reporter: san jose police is upping patrols in the thousand oaks neighborhood. neighbors and friends are scared, sad, and speechless. >> i'm trying not to cry. it's just so hard. to face it all, you know. >> reporter: by thursday afternoon larson still hadn't come to work. a co-worker got worried and called the victim's son. the two of them came here to the

house, unlocked the front door, and found her body in the bedroom. >> it's scary. it's scary for all of us. it's a pretty safe neighborhood otherwise, there's hardly any crime around. it's disturbing. >> reporter: investigators have no motive for the murder. friends, meantime, try to live with their pain, knowing a cherished woman is gone. >> a very kind-hearted person. i'm going to miss her. >> reporter: in san jose, lisa amin gulezian, abc 7 news. officials say a firecracker was set off at the west field shopping center just before 7:00 last night. no one was injured and there was no damage. but the commotion caused a big response from police and fire. one station entrance was closed for a short time. and the nearby mall had to be locked down. the person who set off the firework was not found. new this morning, the cp

hchh -- chp is investigating a crash involving an amazon van, which ended on its roof after it collided with a truck in san lorenzo yesterday afternoon. it was heading to a hospital to pick up a firefighter paramedic when it hit the side of the van. thankfully no one was hurt. in the north bay, we're getting a better picture of the destruction caused by last week's flooding of the russian river. you're looking at video taken from drone view 7 on friday. the county of sonoma said it suffered $155 million in damages. an estimated 2,600 properties were inundated by flooding, that includes 1,900 homes. an assistance center will be open today. abc 7 news reporter cornell barnard has more. >> two feet from the ceiling. >> reporter: that's how high the water got at brad and krista's

house. a fan is working overtime trying to dry everything out. the couple lost a lot. >> artwork that was downstairs in storage. refrigerator, freezer turned upside down, floating. >> reporter: this was the view on wednesday. high water as far as you can see. their car replaced by a trustee canoe. friends are stopping by with food and supplies. they have restricted use of their home for now. ziadh dimoni is tossing out everything that got wet in the flood, and that's just about everything in his house. >> i'm six feet. if i put my hand up, there's two more feet before i hit the water line. i canoed in. >> reporter: a collection of high end shops and eateries had extensive flood damage. >> that's how high the water was.

good morning, everyone. time right now is 9:12. we're taking a live look outside from pier 39 in san francisco. we can expect scattered showers throughout the bay area to start the day. lisa will return to let us know what to expect, coming up. spacex's crew capsule has arrived at the international space station. no one was aboard the capsule which launched late friday night with a mannequin passenger. it docks by itself instead of relying on the space station's robot arm for help. the capsule is set to return to earth on friday. the district attorney of sacramento says her office will not be filing charges against the two police officers who fatally shot an unarmed man last year. stephon clark was shot and killed in his grandmother's backyard. his death touched off widespread protests. abc 7 news reporter zachary

kiesch has more. >> reporter: demonstrators they want justice. this morning, no charges against two officers who shot an unarmed black man last year in sacramento. >> was a crime committed? when we look at the facts and the law and follow our ethical responsibilities, the answer to that question is no. >> reporter: march 18th, 2018. cops responding to a vandalism call. police helicopters begin to zero in and track clark. officers on the ground confronting the 22-year-old in the backyard of his grandmother's home. the officers argue they thought the cellphone in his hand was a gun. >> it looked like a gun from our perspective. >> reporter: shooting and killing the father of two. the investigation found officers muted their body cameras multiple times and waited about

seven minutes before performing cpr. >> we can't get help unless we know you don't have a weapon. >> is he breathing? >> no. >> reporter: they say clark ignored demands and took a shooting stance so cops were justified. the san francisco police chief apologizing to the family. >> i can't imagine the pain they're in. >> reporter: clark's mother devastated by the announcement. >> they executed my son in my mom's back yard. we're not going to accept that. >> reporter: and his fiance fighting back tears. >> my boys have to grow up without their father and i have to continue on as a single parent. >> reporter: the shooting led to protests on the street. >> black lives matter! >> reporter: and disruptions in local government. while the d.a.'s decision is final, the sacramento's mayor says the community still has its own questions about whether

clark's killing was justified. >> was the outcome wrong? was the outcome unacceptable? the answer to both questions is yes. >> reporter: zachary kiesch, abc news, new york. >> demarcus cousins honored clark theat last night's game. steph curry tweeted, "bigger than basketball" with the hashtag #stephonclark. the public is invited for a service for jeff adachi who died last friday after a medical emergency. there are still questions about the details surrounding his death. adachi's friends, family, and colleagues remembered him as a vigil last week. he was 59. the memorial starts at 11:00 tomorrow morning at city hall. in san jose's japantown, the

city's oldest restaurant may have closed its doors for good. the owner hopes to eventually reopen in a new location. but what she wants to take with her is raising concerns among some in the community. >> reporter: before san jose had a japantown, there was a chinatown, and its anchor was the wings chinese restaurant built in 1925. the beloved restaurant quietly closed its doors due to rising rent. its neon sign installed in the '40s or '50s marking the gateway to yesteryear. the owner wants to take the sign with her. but historical preservation officer juliette arroyo is reviewing the case. >> if it's removed, you're having an impact. now, that impact might be lessened if it were maybe moved down the street. >> reporter: the owner of the building says the structure needs more than a half million dollars in repairs. the restaurant owner hopes to relocate her business and

degrees. as we look at this advisory from the national weather service, winter weather advisory along the west slopes, above 6,000 feet, picking up a good amount. if you're headed up there, maybe it's spring break next week, you have a few days off. monday, tuesday, and wednesday, check it out, in the 40s for afternoon highs. you'll have some snow. overnight lows below freezing. you may have it all to yourself because spring break, they really run the gamut through the weeks of march. we have some sun here. don't get too used to it, just a few peeks of sun. walnut creek, 54. 55, mountain view. ha half moon bay in the 50s. delays here in about 50 minutes at sfo. we've had sun, passing showers. 53 santa rosa. the fog from the east bay to the coast. now, what we see today will be very, very light. we are looking at temperatures above where we were yesterday, so that's why it feels kind of muggy out there. emeryville kind of hazy.

54 in the city, 56 in san jose. personal mild out there, almost muggy, with that onshore flow. the winds coming off of the ocean. it is moist. we could see just a random shower. 55 in napa, 57 in concord. 10:00 today, upper 50s. a little dreary out there with a mix of the clouds. maybe a shower, may a few breaks in the cloud deck from time to time. 54 in hayward. then by 6:00 tonight, low 50s. we are pretty much dry. and we will be looking at a dry start to the workweek. that's the good news. we also have more rain in the forecast. i'll tell you how much and where this emphasis will be in a few minutes. a desperate search is under way for two young sisters ages 5 and 8 who walked away from their home in humboldt county. abc news reporter eriell reshef has the latest. >> reporter: 5 and 8-year-olds went missing from their home. the girls were last seen at 2:30

p.m. deputies believe they went possibly into a heavily would they area nearby after their mother said they could not go for a walk outside. this is a multi-agency search including the u.s. coast guard canvassing the area day and night with teams using k9 units and a black hawk helicopter to comb the thick woods near the girls' home. sheriffs' deputies have found evidence that the girls were in those woods. >> we found some clues during the day that have made us change our direction. we found some candy bar wrappers, we confirmed with the mom that they were bought in the last few days. the wrappers showed us a direction from where they started to where the wrappers ended at. >> reporter: the sheriff's office is saying searchers found some boot marks that matched what the girls may have been wearing. they're asking everyone to stay out of the air, fearing the

contamination of other possible evidence. the sheriff's office says the parents are cooperating and helping in the search. they say there is no indication of foul play at this time but they're not ruling anything out. erielle reshef, abc news, new york. president trump spoke at cpac, a conservative conference. it was one of his longest speeches ever. he pulled onstage an activist who was assaulted at uc berkeley. you may remember this video of someone punching the activist. a suspect was arrested on friday. yesterday president trump called williams onstage. he encouraged him to sue the suspect and others. >> he's probably got nothing but sue him forever. sue the college, the university. [ cheers and applause ] and maybe sue the state.

ladies and gentlemen, he took a hard punch in the face for all of us. remember that. >> williams also spoke. he talked about the importance of free speech on college campuses. president trump also spoke about governor newsom. he says newsom told him privately over the phone that he is a great president and extremely smart. newsom, who has been publicly very critical of trump, has not commented on trump's speech. in fact there wasn't much that the president didn't talk about yesterday. robert mueller, house democrats were among the talking points. abc news reporter tara palmieri explains. >> reporter: after a bruising week, the president letting off some steam before a live audience, fire off his strongest language yet against the special counsel's russia investigation. >> and all of a sudden, they're trying to take you out with bull [ bleep ]. >> reporter: with robert mueller's probe reportedly wrapping up, trump suggesting a

over documents to the house oversight committee about how the president's son-in-law jared kushner obtained a top secret security clearance. the request was made five weeks ago. but "the new york times" is now reporting on a memo by then white house counsel don mcgahn in which he recommended against top security clearance for kushner citing concerns, including from the cia. "the times" also says john kelly wrote a memo saying the president ordered him to give kushner clearance. an executive decision his daughter, ivanka trump, denied. >> the president had no involvement pertaining to my clearance or my husband's clearance. zero. >> reporter: tara palmieri, abc news, washington. now an update on that devastating car crash. a gofundme page that was set up to help the villareal family with funeral expenses has competed its goal. more than 2,100 people have

donated $108,000 to date. eli, sarah, and eva villareal were killed when their suv slammed into the back of an illegally parked big rig. a fourth sibling was taken to highland hospital in critical condition. the family was on their way to san francisco to see their father in the hospital. now to a rather bizarre story. a black activist has taken control of a neo-nazi group with plans to dismantle it. james hart stern who lives in riverside county says the former leader of the national socialist movement was going to dissolve it but he convinced him that it could end up in someone else's hands. >> i said, if you give it to me, i will put an antidote to make sure we correct some of those

wrongs and get the education and knowledge of this kind of thing. >> the former leader told "the washington post" that he was tricked by stern who convinced him he could protect members from a lawsuit by becoming the group's president. in san francisco, more than 100 additional patients will be transferred today to a brand-new hospital in the heart of the city. abc 7 news was at the opening of the van ness hospital. it's already housing patients removed from pacifica campus. the new hospital features all kinds of new technology. >> we have a patient that leaves the hospital, this machine will go into the room and use ultraviolet light and kill every single bacteria that is in the room. we want to make sure each room is disinfected and cleaned for the next patient. >> the hospital has 274 beds and features private rooms. nurses say that's a big addition, especially for patients being treated for cancer. still ahead on "abc 7

san new this morning, thousands of people are celebrating one of the craziest food fights in italy. it's called the battle of the oranges. residents and visitors reenact a battle from the middle ages. it's based off the legend of a cruel tyrant who demanded the right to sleep with the town's virgin brides on their wedding nights. his reign ended when one fair maiden chopped off the tyrant's head, now symbolized by the oranges. the three-day event is now held

put a halt to a mini losing streak at two games. steve kerr a little agitated without klay thompson, out with a knee, and kevon looney. ben simmons here with the steal went for a triple-double, 25 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists. i'm not sure he took a shot out of five feet. steph curry missed 21 shots last game, much better in this one. nice! high off the window, but an awkward fall, hit his head on the base of the basket. he's okay, but the sixers led by a dozen at the half. built it up to 14 points. the warriors go on a 16-0 run early in the third. damian lee, he had four 3s, 12 points, then demarcus cousins, then steph and k.d. for 3 of his 34. and andre iguodala would add a three. the dubs were up three after three. big boogie inside! 25 points for him. mike scott, three of his six 3s came in the fourth. he had 22 points. he had like the game of his

life. sixers back on top. warriors in transition. andre, steph, jumper, splash. then drives on j.j. redick. he's going to cook him. 11 of steph's 28 points come in the fourth. warriors win it, 121-117. >> it was just a get it done however type of win. the last two games, it definitely felt good for us to get on this long flight to go back home and have some smiles on our faces and feel good about ourselves. we obviously don't lose confidence in what we're about and what our goal is, but games like tonight are almost playoffesque, where you might not play perfect, but you figure out a way to win. >> we gutted it out. you know, we really got tested as a team from start to finish. that's an incredible team on the other end of that floor. but we got tested, so, i think we needed this. we've kind of been, you know, i guess you could say in a slump these past couple games and not really playing the right way, but it really came together and took a step forward tonight. >> well, it's one of the best wins we've had all year based on

central coast and santa cruz tuesday into wednesday. that's where the emphasis will be. if you want to get out and about today, you can do that but you may have to dodge a few showers, very light. we're looking at just a chance as we go through the middle of the afternoon. so these guys won't mind. and we will be looking at more rain come late tuesday. so a couple of dry dog-walking days for you. and then the rain returns. it will be brief and heavy at times. we'll get to that in just a moment. you can see lake tahoe where there is a winter weather advisory for the west slopes. we have a mix of clouds and sun, some fog, and maybe wringing out a few showers. clear lake, we have a few returns. this lake is awfully full. monitor stage is at 9 feet. it's over that. and flood stage and beyond 9 1/2. we're looking at 10 feet here. this will be an issue as well as guerneville, perhaps, as we get into the later daytime hours of tuesday and wednesday as the

rain comes down, briefly heavy for a while now. we've got a rain/snow mix here in the sierra nevada. temperatures are hovering in the mid-30s, looking at 4 to 8 inches of snow above 6,000 feet. this will be the case through the mid-week time frame with those snow levels coming in and out of lake level, 5,500 feet. mt. tam had a brief shower, you can see the drops on the lens there. half moon bay is mild on the coast. hazy to cloud in emeryville with numbers kind of muggy, in the mid-50s. 57 in concord. numbers aren't going to climb that much. we were warmer overnight. we haven't done away with the cloud cover. the dew points have cooled to the air temperature. that's why we have some of that fog. here's sfo where we had delays of 50 minutes on arriving flights. mostly cloudy, isolated showers tomorrow. heavier rain arrives later tuesday into wednesday. this is a 1 on our storm impact scale today, very light,

scattered showers. up to a tenth, perhaps 2/10ths. they'll be tapering through the afternoon. a line from the east bay to the coasinto the santa cruz mountains, the south bay. a few peeks of sun for the rest of your sunday. s sun setting a little later. an indication the weather is supposed to feel more like spring. scant amounts today. that bodes well for your forecast and your commute monday morning. 60 for concord, 55 in san francisco. 59 in palo alto. here is when things get interesting. bringing in our storm impact scale for tuesday night into wednesday, it's a 2. heavy rain, half inch to inch and a half. this will move through the bay area. the focus won't really be here for the atmosphere riveic river. here comes the rain, 5:30 for a wet evening commute on wednesday.
