protests of the stephon clark case. >> abc 7 news reporter matt keller is monitoring the situation live for us in the south bay bureau. hi, matt. >> hi, jessica. this march was held in a wealthy part of the city, east sacramento. the protesters sending a message to residents. >> the people who make decision in this city live in this neighborhood. >> this protest was one of many following the announcement the sacramento district attorney would not file charges against officers who fatally shot stephon clark in 2016. the officers said they thought the 22-year-old held a gun but it was a cell phone. about two hours into the demonstration, police officers ordered them to disperse. they made 80 arrests most for unlawful assembly. >> they come into our back yards and call us criminals. we're here in your backyard

similar to one more than a decade ago. here is abc news anchor janai norman. >> reporter: a possible breakthrough in the fight against aids. doctors say for the second time an hiv positive person is showing no trace of the virus. it comes 12 years after timothy brown, the berlin patient, became the first known adult to be cured. both patients had stem cell transplants from a donor with a rare genetic mutation that made them resistant to hiv. doctors say the second case shows brown was nots an anomaly. the patient in the recent case known as london patient received the bone marrow trans plant three years ago and stopped taking medication 18 months ago. doctors say it's too early to say he's cured, highly sensitive tests are unable to detect hiv in his body. they warn this will not cure all hiv patients. it's expensive and risky and finding a match with that

this never happens again. san matt says hundreds of employees will stage a two-day strike over stalled contract negotiations. 915 employees of the county's human services unit which provides social welfare help will walk off the job this morning. the employees are assigned to several county departments including public health, the sheriff's office and district attorney's office. they did not ratify a new tentative agreement reached with other county employee groups. in the east bay school programs are being cut to pay teachers. some oakland students say they are heart broken after the school district approved nearly $22 million in budget cuts. students marched to the school board meeting last month. board members say the cuts are needed to pay for the raises in the new teachers contracts. they had an emotional mental after the vote. will be made at the central

office and the remainder includes reductions toibrid stu. developing news this morning, crews in alabama are desperately searching for survivors after tornadoes hit that area. >> at least 23 people died, including entire families and dozens remain missing. the national weather service reports the storm brought the highest tornado death toll in the u.s. since 2013. one of these twisters touched down with wind speeds of 170 miles an hour carving a path of destruction 24 miles long. some of the sites where homes once stood have not been checked yet e. >> it's just sad. when you have a tornado like that, no matter what structure you're in, you're not going to make it, especially in arizona with manufactured homes. they just can't handle that. let's talk about what's going on here. live doppler updated between

pacifica, daly city heading to south san francisco, guadalupe canyon parkway and coma, where we have our heaviest shower. starting to fizzle as it heads to alameda, bay bridge toll plaza. look for wet weather to reach the ground. so far this morning we have a dry slot around 7,000 feet that kept us but that is shrinking. temperatures 50 to 51 in san francisco, most 48 to 52 degrees. pretty mild this morning. here is a look at the tarmac. looks a little wet at sfo as the shower moves through. drive times out and about, need the umbrella all day. exercising will be mild, on the way to the sierra, getting heavy during the afternoon and evening hours. a look at the north bay, other than noon we have a pretty good chance of rain and temperatures around 54 degrees today. for the east bay we've got a little bit of rain this morning up until 10:00. like many areas there's going to be a little bit of a lull during the early afternoon hours

off greenville avenue. scales between greenville and sunol, mostly off on the shoulder as well. >> thank you, alexis. california senator and democratic presidential hopeful kamala harris may be an outspoken critic of the trump administration but she's been a recipient of thousands in donations from the trump family. the sacramento bee says trump donated $5,000 to harris in 2011 during her first term as attorney general. he donated another $1,000 in 2013. then in 2014 ivanka trump donated $2,000. a spokesperson for harris said the money came after she was elected. harris gave the $6,000 to a nonprofit that advocates for civil rights for central americans. the trump family has said the donations are all about business strategy. hillary clinton is ruling out a 2020 presidential run. she told the connecticut television station yesterday, quote, i'm not running but i'm going to keep on working and

democrats latest and most expansive investigation of president trump. >> they are calling a house committee investigation into obstruction disgraceful and abusive. they are looking into the firing of former director james comey among other things. white house secretary said the democratic-led investigation is not after the truth but after president trump. democrats on the panel have documents from 81 people including the president's son-in-law jared kushner. california suing over proposed changes to title 10, a family planning for low income people. if the changes are clinics would only be eligible for title 10 funding if they do not perform abortions or suggesa pele who support the changes say abortion is not family under current law, title 10 funds cannot be spent directly on abortions. supporters of the lawsuit say this is about politics. >> what the president is

bridge, that's kind of where light rain is falling right now. that's the dividing line. south bay and east bay quiet. all of us covered in the chance of a thunderstorm this evening. here we are with a warm front. you can see light rain increasing, moderate pockets all the way up to noon. then the warm front moves to the north. a moist flow out of the south, increasing scattered showers by 4:00. then the cold front starts to draw near during the evening hours. that's when you can see a better chance of some thunderstorms. that goes all the way through 11:00. the cold front is not going to come through until this time tomorrow. that's why we have the heaviest rain tomorrow. that's why it's a 2 on the storm impact scale. we will taper scattered showers wednesday afternoon through thursday, a slight chance friday. one-time rain saturday. then as we set those clocks forward and daylight savings begins sunday, we're finally dry. alexis. >> thanks, mike. as mike has been telling you, a little bit of rain pushing in for morning commute. certainly can make things slick.

a new crash in the east bay. westbound 80 before san pablo dam road. one vehicle hit five others, six total involved. as of a moment ago all off on the shoulders. once emergency crews arrive they will have to block a lane or two. westbound 80 before you get to highway 4 interchange in hercules. that one starting to ramp up a bit. taking a look at drive times this morning. this has really been our worst spot of the commute. westbound 580 tracy to dublin still above average, still in the red, one hour 14 minutes. that is all due to roadwork that cleared over an hour ago. it was late. it was supposed to wrap by 4:00 a.m. but did not get done until 4:40. still trying to bounce back. southbound 680 dublin to mission looking good 19 minutes. 85 northbound highway 101 to cupertino in the green. a sign of the time. virgin atlantic making a small but significant change to its dress code. what you may notice on your next

to approve a dramatic eansion of bike sharing stations. >> right now 152 bike sharing stations, all of them located on the eastern half of the city. plans to expand bike shares to 320 citywide with 4500 bikes. mta looking at outreach since bike stations usually replace parking spots. look at this. a team of engineers at m.i.t. developed the first four-legged robot that can do a backflip. so-called mini cheetah robot is nearly impossible to knock over. it itest over uneven ground twice as fast as a person's walking speed. ed -- the food and drug administration will approve a drug that relieves depression.

metering lights on but we don't have anything blocking. drive times westbound 80 highway 4 to the maze, crash on the shoulder near san pablo road holding onto the green, 22 minutes. 13 across bay bridge in san francisco, southbound 101 san francisco to sfo still in the green at 10 minutes. let's check in with meteorologist mike nicco. >> take a look at midnight as promised, hour by hour, lurking off the shore in the north bay reds. heavy downpours and thunderstorms possible. look at that, right at the beginning of the commute, the heaviest rain is going to fall, blinding rain is going to come down that hard sideways at time. notice by 9:00 it's moving off to the east and we transition over to scatt these rainfall to. definitely much more impressive than what we'll get from a third of an inch in south bay, east bay to nearing three-quarters in san francisco to more of an inch in the north bay. here is my concerns, really just one. the flooding on the roads during
