protests of the stephon clark case. >> abc 7 news reporter matt keller is monitoring the situation live for us in the south bay bureau. hi, matt. >> hi, jessica. this march was held in a wealthy part of the city, east sacramento. the protesters sending a message to residents. >> the people who make decision in this city live in this neighborhood. >> this protest was one of many following the announcement the sacramento district attorney would not file charges against officers who fatally shot stephon clark in 2016. the officers said they thought the 22-year-old held a gun but it was a cell phone. about two hours into the demonstration, police officers ordered them to disperse. they made 80 arrests most for unlawful assembly. >> they come into our back yards and call us criminals. we're here in your backyard

similar to one more than a decade ago. here is abc news anchor janai norman. >> reporter: a possible breakthrough in the fight against aids. doctors say for the second time an hiv positive person is showing no trace of the virus. it comes 12 years after timothy brown, the berlin patient, became the first known adult to be cured. both patients had stem cell transplants from a donor with a rare genetic mutation that made them resistant to hiv. doctors say the second case shows brown was nots an anomaly. the patient in the recent case known as london patient received the bone marrow trans plant three years ago and stopped taking medication 18 months ago. doctors say it's too early to say he's cured, highly sensitive tests are unable to detect hiv in his body. they warn this will not cure all hiv patients. it's expensive and risky and finding a match with that

this never happens again. san matt says hundreds of employees will stage a two-day strike over stalled contract negotiations. 915 employees of the county's human services unit which provides social welfare help will walk off the job this morning. the employees are assigned to several county departments including public health, the sheriff's office and district attorney's office. they did not ratify a new tentative agreement reached with other county employee groups. in the east bay school programs are being cut to pay teachers. some oakland students say they are heart broken after the school district approved nearly $22 million in budget cuts. students marched to the school board meeting last month. board members say the cuts are needed to pay for the raises in the new teachers contracts. they had an emotional mental after the vote. will be made at the central

office and the remainder includes reductions toibrid stu. developing news this morning, crews in alabama are desperately searching for survivors after tornadoes hit that area. >> at least 23 people died, including entire families and dozens remain missing. the national weather service reports the storm brought the highest tornado death toll in the u.s. since 2013. one of these twisters touched down with wind speeds of 170 miles an hour carving a path of destruction 24 miles long. some of the sites where homes once stood have not been checked yet e. >> it's just sad. when you have a tornado like that, no matter what structure you're in, you're not going to make it, especially in arizona with manufactured homes. they just can't handle that. let's talk about what's going on here. live doppler updated between

democrats latest and most expansive investigation of president trump. >> they are calling a house committee investigation into obstruction disgraceful and abusive. they are looking into the firing of former director james comey among other things. white house secretary said the democratic-led investigation is not after the truth but after president trump. democrats on the panel have documents from 81 people including the president's son-in-law jared kushner. california suing over proposed changes to title 10, a family planning for low income people. if the changes are clinics would only be eligible for title 10 funding if they do not perform abortions or suggesa pele who support the changes say abortion is not family under current law, title 10 funds cannot be spent directly on abortions. supporters of the lawsuit say this is about politics. >> what the president is

bridge, that's kind of where light rain is falling right now. that's the dividing line. south bay and east bay quiet. all of us covered in the chance of a thunderstorm this evening. here we are with a warm front. you can see light rain increasing, moderate pockets all the way up to noon. then the warm front moves to the north. a moist flow out of the south, increasing scattered showers by 4:00. then the cold front starts to draw near during the evening hours. that's when you can see a better chance of some thunderstorms. that goes all the way through 11:00. the cold front is not going to come through until this time tomorrow. that's why we have the heaviest rain tomorrow. that's why it's a 2 on the storm impact scale. we will taper scattered showers wednesday afternoon through thursday, a slight chance friday. one-time rain saturday. then as we set those clocks forward and daylight savings begins sunday, we're finally dry. alexis. >> thanks, mike. as mike has been telling you, a little bit of rain pushing in for morning commute. certainly can make things slick.
