no back-up yet. as soon as i have information i'll update you on that. this is the one i started off talking about here westbound 580 at grant line road. we had paving work overnight. sounds like the road either didn't set correctly or the project wasn't really finished the way it was supposed to. theres a large rut, a large chunk of the roadway. that's uneven. that is causing caltrans to come back out and fix it. as soon as we have more details on when they will be there, i will let you know. for now two left lanes blocked westbound 580 at grant line road. that's going to cause big delays out of tracie this morning. next traffic update in 10 minutes. happening today police in los angeles are expected to release more information about the shooting death of oakland city councilwoman's son. victor died sunday morning during a failed robbery attempt near usc where he was studying music. his mother is councilwoman lanett gibson. she will speak to the media in l.a. the press conference expected to begin at 10:00 a.m. we will carry it live.

you can watch it abc7news.com or on our abc 7 news app. we could fend out more about the suspect arrested for a murder in san jose. >> bambi larson, a mother of two found dead february 28th. abc news reporter matt keller joins us live from the police department with more. matt. >> reporter: good morning, jessica and reggie. this news hit family, friends, and neighbors hard, but this morning we possibly have some relief. check out this tweet sent out by san jose police last night. it says new:san jose police arrested the person responsible for the homicide on knollfield way. we will provide additional information as it becomes available. here is a picture. bambi larson, the mother of two adult children. she was found after a co-worker became concerned she didn't show up for work and called her son. the two went to the house and found her body in the bedroom. sources told abc 7 at the time that san jose police had a person of interest in the murder. no word if that's the same person who was arrested.

no motive has been released. we're waiting on more information from san jose police the reporting live in san jose, .keller, abc 7 news. >> matt, thank you. a growing list of airline carriers are grounding their fleet of 737 max 8 aircraft. >> this comes after sunday's deadly crash of the same model that killed 157 people. australia has suspended all flights into and out of the country by the aircraft. no australian airlines operate the max 8 but two foreign airlines fly them into the country. boeing has said it has no reason to pull the aircraft from operation. american investigators arrived in ethiopia last night. ntsb, faa and kenyon authorities are also at the crash site. >> people in redding will come together to remember two brothers killed in the crash. another victim had ties to san francisco. here is abc 7 news director. >> reporter: she worked in nairobi for tech soup, where she was the company's global lead

nurses at two new santa clara hospitals will go on strike in two hours. the california nurses association or cna represents nurses at o'cno and san and saint louise in gilroy. they bought them from verity health system which went bankrupt. now they are forcing the nurses to join another union, registered professionals union. they plan to stage a 24 hour strike starting at 7:00. the city council voted unanimously to ban the sale of flavored tobacco products. it happened last night. they will establish a new license program. a store could have its business license suspended for a year if it's caught selling flavored tobacco three different times. still a few more steps to go before the ordinance would take effect. some good news if you love some pancakes. ihop has free breakfast all day.

front passes through today. when it does, that's when it becomes breezy. the breezes hang around but so does the sunshine tomorrow. we have calmer conditions and that allows the warmth to build as we head into and through the weekend. highs today, our coolest half 55 degrees.hmond, 59 sci everybody else around 60 to 63 degrees. that's pretty close to average. a look at the cold front. you can see it just sweeps through and loses all of its moisture in mendocino county. when it does sweep through it kicks up clouds. behind it it becomes breezy and that opens the door for even cooler conditions tomorrow morning as we unlock some more alaskan air. look at this, 32 to 36 up in some of the north bay valleys, 39 in livermore and morgan hill and pretty much low- to mid-40s elsewhere except san francisco 47 degrees. here is a look at the breezes. they are going to start picking up around 7:00. then as you head out for lunch, look at this, 25 to 35 miles per

hour gusts. even faster at 6:0035 to 40 miles per hour gusts and then they will calm down a little bit during overpass hours. tomorrow they will gust up to around 25 miles per hour. here is a look at accuweather seven-day forecast. temperatures hold pretty steady today and tomorrow. it will feel warmer thursday due to lack of winds. i still have the 70s in the forecast saturday, sunday, and monday. alexis. >> thank you, mike. checking out the roads this morning, i do have a little more information on a crash in the central valley here, the tri-valley i should say westbound 580 before the 680 merge. four vehicles involved in the collision. the good news is no one was injured in this crash. they are working on clearing it right now. sounds like left and right far lanes are blocked along with the right shoulder. that back-up has changed from red into the yellow. i think that means we are hopefully getting some more of those lanes back open right now. drive times not great here. westbound 580, tracy to dublin, you're in the red at 54 minutes. we've got pavement problem right

i've got the tale of two forecasts today. if you're in the north bay a slight chance of showers, mendocino lake. right now live doppler 7 is quiet. it will produce gusty conditions. breezy around half moon bay at 25, sfo at 15, the rest of us are less than 10 miles per hour as can you see on the ferry building in san francisco. around the noonhour the cold front comes in. a few clouds at 7:00, then sunny and breezy this afternoon with temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. but it will feel cooler than that if you're standing out in those breezes. they will continue through 7:00 with low- to mid-50s. let's get a check of the morning commute. hey, alexis. >> good morning, mike. we have bay bridge metering lights as of 5:20. a typical start although it creeps earlier and earlier. unless you're using carpool lanes you'll have to wait in cash or carpool. one in the red westbound 580 tracy to dublin, no change.
