i was having a low day. megan and irving have been together 11 years. the end of march marks 12 yes. approach the beach, there are people who protecting these turtles, they are volunteers. they spend 365 days a year out at the beach trying to give the turtle the space they need. they're out there to protect and educate the public. they know exactly who's coming up for a little rest. they've been doing it so long, they have a book full of each individual turtle with identifying marks on the turtle. they know who's just come in for a nap. >> i love that. they're protecting them and helping educate the public. >> i shot this video when i was in hawaii last week, it was neat to see the turtle and all the people there protecting the turtle. >> he's known as the bird man. you can see why. rick gardner has been doing this for years. he knows many of these pigeons
