directly but she's reached out in acknowledgement of what happened. ardern says the live streaming and responsibility of tech companies to monitor this content is something she hopes to discuss directly with facebook. here at abc7, we've looked into how the live stream got past social media platforms. you can watch the complete story on abc7news.com. the ch specific investigating a deadly freeway shooting near concord. a silver honda crashed into a guardrail near the willow pass road off-road. the driver, a woman from antioch, was found dead at the scene. bullet holes were found on the driver's side door. the silver honda was towed from the scene around 10:30 last night. detectives are searching for possible witnesses. new details about a deadly crash involving a bicyclist in san francisco. "the examiner" reports the driver who opened a car door, causing the bicyclist to swerve into traffic will likely not face criminal charges. a truck hit and killed

30-year-old tess rothstein earlier this month. attorneys who work in the field do not expect charges to be brought against the driver because the state statute for vehicular manslaughter requires a person to be driving a vehicle. the driver was parked. that driver spoke exclusively to abc7 news. she says she has been heartbroken since the accident. a 40-year-old vallejo snowboarder who died in north lake tahoe has been identified. the sheriff's office says danison crowder went snowboarding by himself on friday and his body was discovered by ski patrol on wednesday, the same day he was reported missing. teams searched the mountain after finding his car in the parking lot covered in snow. especially high snow levels have created hazards for skiers and snowboarders this year. a once in a lifetime opportunity for kids who have been through a tragedy. baseball players from paradise high school where last year's campfire destroyed most of the city played a special game of baseball at oracle park. abc7 news reporter lisa amin gulezian has more on how the

"the sacramento bee" reports the suspect, joseph deangelo, was arrested in 1996 by sacramento police but later let go. he was a suspect in a gas station robbery, but the charges against him were dismissed. he was arrested last april when investigators used dna evidence to link him to a crime scene. deangelo is accused of at least 13 murders and numerous sexual assaults dating back to the 1970s. a robbery and shoot-out

outside of the bellagio hotel and casino in las vegas has turned deadly. a robbery suspect was wounded after trading gunfire with police late friday night and has died. police say the suspect robbed the packed casino and was confronted by four officers while trying to carjack a vehicle. a las vegas police officer was also shot but was wearing a bulletproof vest. >> can you start fire department rescue out this way? we're going to have transporting officers. >> the officer had his bulletproof vest on, which probably saved his life. >> police did not say how much money the suspect got before he was taken down by officers. a new study by apple says its watches could potentially save lives by detecting irregular heartbeats. stanford researchers looked at pulse data collected from 400,000 participants. those with irregular heartbeats were sent electrocardiogram patches for further monitoring. one-third of the group turned out to have atrial defibrillation, a potentially fatal condition that kills

oakland for the 12th annual brave the shave fund-raiser at the children's hospital. people shaved their heads to raise money for the st. bald rick's foundation, which helps children fighting cancer. people came from all over to get a trim and donate. >> it's a great cause out here. we came out here with our jeep crew. we raised about $3,000 for this cause, and happy to be a part of it. >> abc7 news weather anchor spencer christian was there to emcee the event. organizers say this is the biggest fund-raiser for childhood cancer, raising $35 million a year. you could donate by going to the st. baldrick's website. our meteorologist is joining us now with the forecast. good morning, frances. >> good morning. we're starting off differently this morning with high clouds. and i'm showing you that with live doppler 7 and the satellite image. we've got some high clouds moving through along the peninsula coast, and we'll see temperatures still warm up, but there's a few changes on the way. here's a look from our roof camera out towards the bay

bridge. it's pretty quiet right now. san francisco's 50. other areas are in the 40-degree range. morgan hill 44 degrees right now. and this time from emeryville, you can see some of the clouds this morning across the bay bridge and over there in the distance in san francisco. most other temperatures are in the low 40s through santa rosa, napa 42, as well as vacaville, concord a little bit mild at 48. this is a live shot at the san jose airport. here's what you can expect for the forecast. we'll have another warm day. we'll see a few clouds passing through, increasing clouds later on tonight, and then for tomorrow, it's going to be cloudier, but temperatures will still be mild. in fact, well above average. and then spring showers, they return. rain returns to our forecast midweek. highs today will be very close to yesterday's numbers, so another gorgeous day for st. patrick's day. san francisco 68, oakland 69. we'll see some mid-70s in san jose and morgan hill and santa rosa and napa in the upper 70s. so notice those high clouds

start to move in through the north bay, and that will continue to increase overnight into monday. also, if you're headed to the beaches today, more cloud cover as well, temperatures generally in the mid-60s through ocean beach, half moon bay, but still another beautiful day in santa cruz at 73 with high uv index. you'll still need the sunscreen. and overnight lows will be mild once again in the 40s and 50s. lots of 50s around the bay area through san francisco, san mateo, oakland, and even san jose. now, i want to show you what you can expect over the next few days. monday we'll still see springlike weather with some mild temperatures, possibly even 77 in san jose, so some mid-70s through parts of the north bay and east bay. but notice on tuesday it gets a little bit cloudier. temperatures come down a bit. most of everyone will be in the 60s, possibly reaching a few 70s out there, and then wednesday things change quite a bit. much cooler with showers moving in for the first day of spring. so, here are the rain chances.

>> but especially touch our children and kids. when they saw the pouring of love in the community for them, they really felt part of the american fabric. >> reporter: the center is still remaining vigilant. there's extra security and police, but leaders here tell us oakland makes them feel safe. mayor libby schaaf also spoke at this event and organizers want to make sure that people are welcome at this center any time. reporting in oakland, jobina fortson, abc7 news. a new video shows a senator in australia getting into a scuffle with a teenager over a comment the senator made about friday's attack. take a look. a 17-year-old boy smashes an egg on fraser anning's head. anning hits the teen before the two are pulled apart. the far right senator blames the massacre on immigration policies and "muslim fanatics." many are condemning anning's comments, including australia's prime minister. police say the boy was arrested but hasn't been charged pending further investigation. former obama homeland

for a rally in san diego. and one week from today, the senator will be here in san francisco for another rally. it's at 12:30 at great meadow park at ft. mason. it's free and open to the public, but get there early because entrance is first come, first serve. a chicago area high school finds itself with an infamous alumnus as a college admissions scandal unfolds. rick singer admitted to being the architect of the scheme that helped the rich and powerful buy entry into some of the nation's elite colleges. singer went to niles west high school and graduated in 1978. current students going through the college application process are finding themselves at a loss for words. >> it was just a really weird feeling that's really hard to be described, because it's not like happy or sad. it's just sort of like, what are the odds? >> i just thought it was kind of odd and ironic that he went to niles west. >> charges against you? >> the students say singer doesn't represent their school and there are other alumni who have done positive things. more than a dozen colleges were named in the indictment. a massive multiagency search

for a missing marine in the sierra nevada is being reduced. 24-year-old u.s. marine corps first lieutenant matthew kraft of washington sent out on a solo ski and hike trip. he planned to complete the 195-mile sierra high route on march 5th but never returned. a manhunt through the sierra began on the fifth. kraft's vehicle was eventually found at the grays meadow campground above independence, california, but no sign of kraft was ever found. the search will continue but on a smaller scale. in southern california, racetrack officials say santa anita park is scheduled to resume horse racing on friday. the track is set to be reopened after a deal was made yesterday by track officials and thoroughbred owners of california. part of it includes a ban on the drug lasix. it's a diuretic that helps prevent horses from hemorrhaging, according to the daily racing form. racing had been suspended after the number of deaths skyrocketed since late december. 22 horses have died due to

injuries on the track. a geological survey says $150 billion in coastal real estate are at risk of flooding by the end of the century. the problem, rising sea levels and erosion. abc7 news reporter wayne freedman visited a town who knows too well how destructive erosion can be. >> reporter: asleep on the beach in pacifica, a perfect moment in a less-than-perfect place based on the ocean's history around here. the fronts of homes tell stories. >> yeah, the waves break right over the sea wall and cross the street and slam into the homes. >> look at it. you can see how it literally took the concrete right off. >> reporter: gia konda eagan doesn't know it yet but her damage is already statistical and part of something frightening, a new report from the united states geological survey that predicts $150 billion in california flood damage by the end of this century blamed sea rise made worse by storms. >> sea level rise in the bay area equals about $20 billion in

may not have been a mob hit after all. the boss of the gambino crime family was shot after someone crashed a car outside his staten island mansion. investigators linked the shooting to anthony kamelo. several agencies say kamelo has made conflicting statements, but a leading theory is that he told kamelo to stop dating one of his relatives. the samaritan house held a fund-raising dinner last night. anchor dan ashley emceed the event titled hope is. carole middleton sponsored the event. samaritan house provides shelter, medical screenings at free and low-cost medical clinics for the uninsured throughout san mateo county. the irish cultural center in san francisco will host a block party today with live music, food, dancing and activities for the family. block party will be on slope boulevard at 45th avenue near great highway. it runs from 11:00 until 4:00 this afternoon. what a great day to have this. >> yeah, it's going to be

frances dinglasan with a look at your accuweather forecast. franc frances? >> hi, matt. good morning, everyone. another gorgeous day ahead, but or changes on the way. here's doppler 7 and the satellite image. notice more high clouds this morning across the north bay and the peninsula coast. there is even some fog in petaluma, but looking outside, winds are calm right now. as we check out the bay bridge and embarcadero there from our roof camera, temperatures are mild. san francisco's 50. oakland 47. san jose 48. cooler in morgan hill at 45. and this time from the east bay, we are looking clear across the bay bridge and the downtown area. again, some clouds coming in from the coast. we could see some patchy fog develop along the peninsula coast this morning. and right now some low 40s through parts of the north bay and even the east bay, so santa rosa, napa 42, as well as petaluma, vacaville, livermore 43 as well. here's a live shot of sfo. there are some clouds moving in, so we'll keep track of some possible flight delays later on. so, here's the forecast.

another warm day today with a few more clouds. we'll see increasing high clouds this afternoon into this evening, and that spills over into tomorrow. cloudier, but temperatures will still be mild. and then spring showers make their way back into the forecast this week. so, if you're heading to the shamrock 5k fun run in dublin today for all the festivities, it's going to be pretty nice. at 8:30 still in the low 50s, so comfortable running weather. and then this afternoon we'll still climb into the low 70s. and then it will start to cool down later on this evening. now, i also want to show you the highs for everybody today. it's going to be close to yesterday's numbers, possibly a couple degrees warmer in some spots. san francisco, 68. oakland 69. san jose 75. plenty of sunshine in morgan hill, 76 there, and low 70s through parts of the north bay. bottom line is enjoy the nice weather. it's going to be very similar to yesterday's conditions with just a few more clouds. lows tonight will be in the 40s and 50s, so a little bit milder. 5 san francisco, oakland, san

mateo and also in san jose. now, temperatures are going to take a drastic change, so enjoy the mild warm weather. for example, our average high is 66. we are a little warmer than that, possibly tomorrow ten degrees above average. notice temperatures tumble midweek. we could drop by as much as 15 degrees in some areas. and then they stay on the cool side through the week and that's because we have a storm system moving in midweek, so again, tomorrow enjoy the springlike weather. then clouds start to increase on tuesday, and then the showers make their way back into the forecast on wednesday and temperatures tumble. we'll be in the upper 50s to low 60s. so, here are the rain chances for the week as well. so, enjoy it. we've got some great weather, well above average for the next few days. tuesday we'll see increasing clouds, but looks like the rain will probably move in on wednesday, lingering a little bit until thursday, so we have

lower chances there. and then friday, late again into saturday morning is when we get our next system moving through. so we have two systems coming in this week. so, tuesday looking cloudy. wednesday looking wet. continuing into thursday. but thursday mostly a break. and then friday night into saturday morning we see some showers and then moving out again by saturday afternoon. so, here's the accuweather seven-day forecast. enjoy the st. patrick's day festivities today. it's going to be gorgeous! mostly sunny with some high clouds. partly cloudy tomorrow but still mild temperatures. and then things get a little bit cloudier and cooler on tuesday. a big change on wednesday for the first day of spring. we'll see some showers and much cooler temperatures. showers look likely to end so we get a decent break again thursday into friday before our second system moves in. next weekend possibly a little wet starting out saturday morning. >> it's nice to see the rain sticking around and it's nice to see they're just one on our storm scale, because we're tired of all the flooding here.
