inside an md-10 freight airplane that has been modified, complete with a teaching room, and all of this with mostly volunteers. their goal is to educate. so what they do every time they go to different parts of the world is they'll actually find local doctors and nurses and bring them in to teach them how to do this work. they recently made a stop in phoenix, arizona, and i flew there with marco, the president of the ea chapter in the area. and when we got there, i was able to speak with bruce johnson, who is the director of aircraft operations. >> all kinds of training is going on in this one room. >> and he gave me a tour of the entire flying eye hospital. >> this is our laser room. >> from cockpit to lesson room. he showed me the o.r. room. >> that's cool. i can't believe that i'm looking at the inside of an airplane. >> some people out there might be wondering how the heck do they perform surgery.
