live from police headquarters. police tell you they are indeed working on improving safety here. >> reporter: that's right. b.a.r.t.'s deputy police chief told me that he knows safety is the top concern of riders. he says he's working to hire more officers. al this as the department searches for a stabbing suspect. take a close look at this man. b.a.r.t. police believe he's the same guy who got into a fight with another rider on board a richmond-bound train, then pulled a knife. >> they were on the same train car, rode together for several stations. there was some type of verbal exchange which escalated into the fight. >> reporter: police say that fight led to a victim being stabbed in the neck and face just as the train was approaching the oakland-fruitvale station friday afternoon. a camera inside the train caught the suspect moments after the stabbing running away from the car and out of the station. it's not the news riders want to hear. >> b.a.r.t. has become very scary and dangerous i feel at

group. new details now on a security scare this morning that grounded flights and caused confusion at sfo. a passenger left the security checkpoint with several rounds of ammunition in his carry-on bag. a security officer identified the magazine during security screening but the wrong bag was pulled. the tsa released a statement saying a private security company was conducting screenings at the airport. three checkpoints leading to terminal three were closed for about 45 minutes. lines reopened after officers located the passenger and brought him back for a rescreening. we could learn more tomorrow about special counsel robert mueller's investigation into russian election interference. all eyes now are on attorney general william barr who said he could deliver his report summary to lawmakers this weekend. we have the latest. >> reporter: attorney general william barr ariechd at his office -- arrived at his office

saturday to review robert muell mueller's report. the contents a highly guarded secret. confirmed one thing -- the special counsel is not recommending any further indictments. >> it's better news for the president. it's not as bad as they thought. there's still a whole bunch of things ahead. now we're entered into a major political fight. >> reporter: looumueller has no spoken publicly since the investigation began. doing his talking only through charges filed in court. 37 indictments, among them russians suspected of hacking the clinton campaign. and there have been multiple guilty pleas including some in the president's inner circle. some of his top political advisers and strategists now convicted. and even longtime friends and family members caught up in the investigations. many in congress calling for the report to be made public. republican senator doug collins calling on the doj to release the report to the public without delay and to the maximum extent permitted by law. house speaker nancy pelosi insisting any briefings to any committees be unclassified so members can speak freely about

every aspect of the report. barr has told congress he's committed to as much transparency as possible. but some lawmakers won't rule out calling for mueller to testify before congress. >> the justice department doesn't release the whole report, tries to keep parts of it secret, we will certainly subpoena the parts of the report. >> reporter: as for the president, sources tell abc news he's glad the investigation is over. abc news, west palm beach, florida. east bay congressman eric swolwell wants the special counsel to testify on capitol hill to reveal more about his investigation. the democrat said on hbo's "realtime with bill maher" the house intelligence committee will subpoena mueller to answer questions. reaction on mueller's report on abc's "world news tonight" at 5:30 right here after abc7 news at 5:00. isis has lost its final stronghold in syria. that is according to officials there. the syrian democratic forces said it fully liberated the town of baghouz.

victor mceleny majored in music at usc. a family friend reflected on how he shared his passion and talents with others. >> music was amazing. it touched so many lives. since he was a young child, and that was one of the gifts, one of the many gifts that god blessed him with. >> los angeles police have not made any arrests in his murder. one person died after a car went off a road near the summit of marin county's mt. tam. the vehicle lands -- landed in a ravine, as you see, several hundred feet from ridge crest boulevard. the victim died at the scene. highway patrol spent part of the day looking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash. the marin coroner is working to identify the victim. a car slammed into a building in campbell causing a gas leak that led to evacuations this morning. responders got everyone out of the building in the area of baskham and hamilton after the crash. the wreck also closed southbound

lanes of baskham avenue for just under an hour. no one was seriously hurt. our rain yesterday may have played a role in a power outage today in the north bay. take a look at this -- a huge tree just tumbled on a hillside near hillside avenue in mill valley, knocking out power. this is near the intersection of balsa avenue. power was restored to most customers this afternoon with full service expected by 6:00 tonight. helicopters are evacuating cruise passengers from a luxury liner. just ahead, mayday on the high seas. details on the effort to get more than 1,000 people off a ship in trouble. plus, billionaire larry ellison has big plans to revive a lake tahoe spot once famous for its swank and celebrity. i'm meteorologist drew to tooma. sunshine, dry conditions, tomorrow the next storm is approaching.

developing news in scandinavia now. rescuers are slowly evacuating about 1, 300 people from a cruise ship disabled off norway's coast. the "mv viking sky" lost power in its engines while sailing in choppy seas and through strong winds. five helicopters are ferrying passengers from the stranded ship to other vessels. the helicopters can carry between 15 and 20 people per trip, so it will take several hours to evacuate all of those passengers. commuters face delays after a driver rear-ended a muni street car in san francisco. take a look. abc7 was at market and sanchez streets after the car plowed into the historic pcc street car. muni had to suspend the f-line service between 11th street and

castro street until the tracks were cleared. muni has not said if anyone was hurt in the crash. oracle billionaire larry ellison is making good on his plan to reopen the famed cal nava resort in lake tahoe. abc7 first told you about his plans to buy the bankrupt lake tahoe casino and hotel in 2017. he purchased the 13-acre property for more than $35 million, and now his team is getting ready to submit a proposal that would include democratam issuing the original -- demolishing the original resort. construction plans include a casino and hotel. the site once hosted celebrities including frank sinatra and marilyn monroe. powerball by the numbers. the latest on tonight's historic drawing. and you have probably heard the popular lady gaga song "shallow." but probably never the way this local group performs it. you'll hear it for yourself ahead. it's certainly a cool start

from our storms. or next one quickly approaching tomorrow. live doppler 7 giving the active sweep across the region. most spots have quieted down after morning sprinkles. a lone shower over the north bay over the past hour or so. live doppler 7 showing that cell over fairfield has pretty much evaporate. we have dry skies on the way this evening. we'll take you outside. a live look from the tower showing the beautiful san francisco in the foreground. the north bay in the backgrounds. partly cloudy skies now, and tomorrow morning is a big day in oakland for the oakland marathon. and as a runner myself, this is a really nice looking forecast for runners. we have dry skies throughout the entire race. early on as the race gets underway, temperatures mainly in the mid 40s. as the sun gets up here, we'll see the temperatures slowly warming into the 50s. good luck to all the runners taking b.a.r.t. early tomorrow morning in the oakland marathon, even the half marathon and 5k. storm totals, we had the system linger over us from friday into

early today. and those numbers really add addsed up especially in the north bampt you see mill valley, over an inch of rain. san francisco, about three quarters of an inch. as you get toward the south bay, the numbers drop a bit. fremont coming close to .8 inch of rain. that storm system is out of here. what lingers behind it is cool air. look at these numbers. we're in the 50s to low 60s. a lot of spots really struggling to even reach 60 right now. these are about five to eight degrees below where we should be for this time of the year. overnight tonight, it will be a rather chilly night. we'll have mainly clear skies early on. then after midnight, we'll start to see a little bit of patchy fog developing, especilly in the north bay and east bay valleys. in the north bay, the coldest spots dropping into the mid if not upper 30s. pretty much around the bay shoreline. a number should hold in the mid if not low 40s over the next 12 hours. let's break down your sunday. the 12-hour day planner. early morning patchy fog first thing. once the fog gets out of here, it's a lot of sunshine in the morning. you'll notice in the afternoon,

cloud cover increases by 4:00, 5:00. but it will feel warmer tomorrow. temperatures in a lot of spots getting well into the low if not mid 60s. highs sunday, 60 in the city for san francisco. 66 in san jose with increasing clouds in the afternoon. 63 in santa rosa. 62 in livermore and oakland. high of 62 degrees. headed to the coliseum, giants taking on the as. first pitch 1:05 under a mixture of sun and clouds. a nice day at the ballpark. we'll call for temperatures in the low 60s. it will be a little bit on the breezy side. wind about 10 to 20 miles per hour. our storm is leaving right now. dry skies tonight. but you'll look off the coastline, and here's the next storm system. this will move on shore late tomorrow and mainly on monday. the storm impacts scale for your monday, level-one system, light to moderate rains. calling for a quarter to three quarters inches of rain. during the day tomorrow, dry.
