satellite picture. this is what's on the way for your monday morning commute. we're anywhere from 6 to 14 degrees colder. certainly feeling the chill this morning to your 40 around cloverdale, 45 in oakland and 43 in san jose. we will start out with sun and temperatures will climb to the upper 50s by noontime, mid-50s at the shoreline, increasing clouds throughout the day. this is for today and we will look for the sun setting at 7:25. we will talk about the time line in a few minutes. firefighters are looking into the cause of wane alarm fire that killed one woman and left a man injured. flames broke out after 10:00 last night at jackson avenue. the fire started in the kitchen. officials say most of the damage was kept to that space but there is smoke damage throughout the home. the injured man is expected to be okay. developing news out of san francisco. one person is dead and at least three others are hurt after a

shooting. the shooting happened just before 8:45 last night near the intersection of fillmore and eddy street in the fillmore district. police say at least flethree pee were taken to the hospital. one of the victims has life-threatening injuries. another person died at the scene. police say the investigation is stll in the early stages and they have not given specifics about what led up to that shooting or information about any suspects. we sent this alert in our abc7 news app when news broke and we will continue to send alerts and developments. just download the abc7 app and enable notifications. a student has died in spain hike with other students in eastern europe. authorities started searching the area late that day but did not find him until searching yesterday. he fell in difficult rock dwrir rain. he was a hue majoring in computer science and was 20

after a stabbing on b.a.r.t. take a close look at this man. b.a.r.t. police believe he's the same guy who got into a fight with another rider on board a richmond-bound train and pulled knife. >> they were on the same train car, rode together for several stations and there was some type of verbal exchange which escalated into the fight. >> reporter: police say that fight led to a victim being stabbed in the neck and face, just's the train was approaching the oakland fruitvale station friday afternoon. a camera inside the train caught the suspect moments after the stabbing, running away from the car and out of the station. it's not the news riders want to hear. >> it's just gross. it's always gross. always has been gross. >> reporter: last year 18-year-old kneel wilson was stabbed to death by 27-year-old john lee cowell. a john will rule on his competentsy for trial next month. a few months ago mary said she saw a plan pull a knife on board

"tmz" is reporting usc has eight suspicious cases all involving admission scamming leader rick singer's service. attorney steve meister said the university can and show take away degrees of any alum receiving them by fraud. they legally have every vite to do so. >> if they don't do it, they undermine the integrity of any degree they award to anyone else. if you're there by fraud, what right have you really to be there at all? >> so far no students have been

rosa down through marin, the best of the bay not bad. as we get through the 11:00 hour, just pushing into the bay and still looking at good downpours around sonoma and up in the areas we see rapid rises in streams and rivers. looking at the rain pushing through by 6:00 and highest in the north bay, about 3/4 inch and the rest of the bay to a 10th. mountain view just a couple hundred. so this system favoring the north bay allowing for a winter storm warning from 5:00 tomorrow until 11:00 tuesday. in addition 8 to 12 inches for west slopes here. we're also looking at a winter storm watch through where the i sos here can see one we look sof the them weill in t the rest of the week i want to show you this is the monday system. then we get a little bit of a break into tuesday. then look what happens into wednesday.

was saturday. in the upper 30s by clear lake and ukiah, 39 in livermore. it is 43 in san jose, 45 oakland and 49 in san francisco. so 11 degrees colder in oakland, 10 degrees colder in mountain view and san jose. the plan will be to increase the clouds. 10:00 we're partly cloudy with low 50s and by 2:00, mostly cloudy skies, low 60s. we are dry and for the dinner hour numbers in the low to mid 60s. rain stays off shore until t monday morning commute and then several rounds of rain. >> thanks, lisa. tugboats are trying to move a norwegian cruise ship to shore after it was stranded off the coast. they are showing pictures of the viking sky. the ship was carrying about 1,300 passenger and crew when its engines failed yesterday.

it looked terrifying. three of the four engines are working and the shich is now moving at a very slow pace. rescuers are trying to evaluate people on board. helicopters have airlifted 115 passengers one by one. this process though could continue throughout the day. >> we went up on a helicopter with a sling the two of us together. it was quite scary. >> wow. at least eight passengers suffered minor injuries. it's unclear if any of the other passengers still on the cruise ship had been hurt. a father risks his own life to save his daughter from a speeding car, which ends up hitting him instead. here you can see michael devore in a cross walk with his 11-year-old daughter when that red car hits them. this happened back in november in an l.a. neighborhood. he said there was no time to think so he pushed his daughter out of the way, taking the brunt of the impact. his daughter got away from a few scratches but he's still recovering from two broken legs. >> i hoped i would get cleared

until then, have a great day. now geertiwe're getting a cf our forecast with meteorologist lisa argen, who's keeping track of incoming clouds. >> that's right, kate. we enjoyed some sun yesterday and right now it's certainly cold out, talking about temperatures that are barely at 40 in some of our inland valleys. here's a live look at emeryville, where you can see it looks quiet and winds not a factor. we will bring in our storm impact scale for tomorrow, it is a one. the rain will be in the north bay. many of you in the east bay and south bay will have a dry monday morning commute. but when this is all said and done, we're looking at up to three quarters of an inch in the north bay and lesser amounts, maybe not even .10 of an inch in the south bay. but the winds will be breezy and there are a few systems behind that to keep track of. exploratory can ram with the clouds around this morning making for an interesting view. here's live doppler 7, where we will widen out the perspective and bring in the next system, show you what is moving into the

bay area. not aonly rain but snow produce for the entire week. the rain will be intermittent on and off and we will talk about that in a minute. 39 in sachbtnta clara, 40s in t north bay. on the coast, it is cold. half moon bay, 39. we will see a mix of clouds and sun in san francisco, clouds winning out throughout the day. increase in clouds, rainy and breezing tomorrow, mainly the north bay but this does push across the bay area through the afternoon and looking at more storm systems throughout the week ahead. here's the deal today with the clouds continuing throughout the afternoon and by 10:00, 11:00, the rain is offsure. 5:00 in the morning for marin, sonoma, napa, it's very wet. as we take you through the lunch hour, it just begins to push over the bay. you will get away with a dry commute in the morning if you live in emeryville or fremont or mountain view but making your way around the bay throughout

the afternoon, scattered showers. at 3:30, you'll notice the line pushi pushing into san francisco. so rainfall amounts favor the north bay. this system looks to stall ut in the out in the north bay. a 10th or less from fremont to mountain view. storm warning tomorrow morning until tuesday. up to 20 inches above 5,000 feet. as we get into the greater lake tahoe area, winter watch tuesday through thursday. this system above 6,000 feet putting down an additional one to three feet. wednesday you can see the totals up to a foot, down south around kirkwood half a foot, maybe three, four inches but the totals will continue through thursday. as we go through monday morning, it's wet and then we clear on out monday night.
