satellite picture. this is what's on the way for your monday morning commute. we're anywhere from 6 to 14 degrees colder. certainly feeling the chill this morning to your 40 around cloverdale, 45 in oakland and 43 in san jose. we will start out with sun and temperatures will climb to the upper 50s by noontime, mid-50s at the shoreline, increasing clouds throughout the day. this is for today and we will look for the sun setting at 7:25. we will talk about the time line in a few minutes. firefighters are looking into the cause of wane alarm fire that killed one woman and left a man injured. flames broke out after 10:00 last night at jackson avenue. the fire started in the kitchen. officials say most of the damage was kept to that space but there is smoke damage throughout the home. the injured man is expected to be okay. developing news out of san francisco. one person is dead and at least three others are hurt after a

shooting. the shooting happened just before 8:45 last night near the intersection of fillmore and eddy street in the fillmore district. police say at least flethree pee were taken to the hospital. one of the victims has life-threatening injuries. another person died at the scene. police say the investigation is stll in the early stages and they have not given specifics about what led up to that shooting or information about any suspects. we sent this alert in our abc7 news app when news broke and we will continue to send alerts and developments. just download the abc7 app and enable notifications. a student has died in spain hike with other students in eastern europe. authorities started searching the area late that day but did not find him until searching yesterday. he fell in difficult rock dwrir rain. he was a hue majoring in computer science and was 20

years old. it's been ten years since b.a.r.t. police officers shot and killed grant. they gathered last night and were joined by hundreds of other families who lost children by the hands of police. >> reporter: mothers across the country with one thing in common -- pain. >> representing my son at the age of 14 was killed by a baltimore city police officer. >> from atlanta, georgia, to support my son nicholas thomas who got executed by the atlanta police 2015, march 24th >> reporter: once year at the oscar grant foundation, mothers say they find comfort in each other while remembering the life of oscar grant. a b.a.r.t. police officer shot and killed grant unarmed back in 2009. >> this is a sorority we didn't pledge for. we don't want other mothers

after a stabbing on b.a.r.t. take a close look at this man. b.a.r.t. police believe he's the same guy who got into a fight with another rider on board a richmond-bound train and pulled knife. >> they were on the same train car, rode together for several stations and there was some type of verbal exchange which escalated into the fight. >> reporter: police say that fight led to a victim being stabbed in the neck and face, just's the train was approaching the oakland fruitvale station friday afternoon. a camera inside the train caught the suspect moments after the stabbing, running away from the car and out of the station. it's not the news riders want to hear. >> it's just gross. it's always gross. always has been gross. >> reporter: last year 18-year-old kneel wilson was stabbed to death by 27-year-old john lee cowell. a john will rule on his competentsy for trial next month. a few months ago mary said she saw a plan pull a knife on board

a train. lickl luckily, nobody was hurt. >> what do you do is grab your purse and put it in front of you and hope nobody comes after you. t hires 24 new security officers last year and working to hire 14 more this year. >> we're recruiting, looking to put more people out there. we're doing the best we can. >> reporter: meantime the search for the suspect goes on. we're told the stabbing victim is expected to recover. anyone with information about the crime is asked to call b.a.r.t. police. in oakland, cornell bernard, abc7. last month abc7 spent an entire week looking at some of the issues that b.a.r.t. faces. it's part of our commitment to building a better bay area. safety was one of the priexary concerns viewers told us about. we heard from passengers who had numerous issues on the platform or trains themselves. one woman who had one of these run-ins allowed us to join her as she headed home to the east

mueller delivered his report to barr flight. barr promised transparency and will work with mueller and others to determine what information can be legally released to congress and the public. lawmakers from both sides of the aisle say the public deserves to see the results. even president trump has called for the report's full release. >> let it come out. let people see it. >> 37 people have already been indicted as part of the russia investigation. a senior justice department official has confirmed the special counsel is recommending no further indictments. following robert mueller's delivering his final report to william barr, house intelligence committee chair congressman add up schiff will appear on "this week." you can watch it right here at 8:00 on abc7. happening today, a get ready to feel the burn. vermont senator and democratic presidential candidate bernie sanders will be in san francisco for a rally. the event starts at 12:30 this

afternoon. it's happening at the great meadow park. doors open at 11:00 but you're advised to get there early because entrance is first come, first serve. this is the senator's first trip to the city since announcing his second white house run. in the east bay, thousands of athletes will compete in today's tenth annual oakland running festival. this year's festival includes several events including half marathon and full marathon. runners in the marathon face an extra challenge this year. they will race across the eastern span of the bay bridge. stationless close during today's running festival that includes grant avenue along with mini streets around late merritt near the start and finish lines. the marathon starts at 7:00 al but the race will impact traffic and transit well into the afternoon. lisa, i think the runners will have pretty good running weather. >> yes, definitely cool out there. a lot cooler than yesterday. but no rain, nice and dry. temperatures raising from the upper 30s in the inlandese bay

outraged as they decided to ban dogs from its field inhibiting the use for soccer and la crosse players. we have more on the controversial move. >> reporter: this design telling dog owners to keep their pets off mckegny field is dawesing an uproar. >> it's terrible. we pay for part of it. why can't we use it? >> reporter: the $2 million field were opened and you can see on this schedule, the signs were ignored and dogs in the field. the city is trying to protect its investment. >> dogs did and go to the bathroom and it's shallow and can cause damage to the field. >> reporter: only soccer and la crosse teams will play on the grass by paying a rental fee double for the amount. they said it's the only field

los angeles firefighters say at least 30 people were hurt. one victim needed to be flown to helicopter to a trau-- by a-- by helicopter to a trauma center. they reopened southbound 5 just before 7:00 last night. in the wake of a college admission scandal, usc is considering revoking the degrees of several graduates. "tmz" is reporting usc has eight suspicious cases all involving admission scamming leader rick singer's service. attorney steve meister said the university can and show take away degrees of any alum receiving them by fraud. they legally have every vite to do so. >> if they don't do it, they undermine the integrity of any degree they award to anyone else. if you're there by fraud, what right have you really to be there at all? >> so far no students have been

charged in the scandal. uber and lyft drivers in los angeles are planning to go on strike this week. according to the "l.a. times," uber slashed per mile pay from 80 cents to 60 krechbcents iceni parts of orange county. they're refusing to drive tomorrow in an attempt to push for higher wages across the board. uber drivers protested in l.a. before but this time they're being led by a group ride share drivers united. uber said the old scale wasn't working and other changes will improve take-home pay. as part of our efforts here on abc7 to build a better bay area, we're taking a look what it's like here for ride share drivers. on our website abc7news.com we have a form we would like for you to fill out if your -- you're a ride-share driver and tell us about your experience. the powerball jackpot is now at, get this, $750 million after

rosa down through marin, the best of the bay not bad. as we get through the 11:00 hour, just pushing into the bay and still looking at good downpours around sonoma and up in the areas we see rapid rises in streams and rivers. looking at the rain pushing through by 6:00 and highest in the north bay, about 3/4 inch and the rest of the bay to a 10th. mountain view just a couple hundred. so this system favoring the north bay allowing for a winter storm warning from 5:00 tomorrow until 11:00 tuesday. in addition 8 to 12 inches for west slopes here. we're also looking at a winter storm watch through where the i sos here can see one we look sof the them weill in t the rest of the week i want to show you this is the monday system. then we get a little bit of a break into tuesday. then look what happens into wednesday.

a bay area woman is inspiring thousands of other women with her story while getting hired for a new job while 6 1/2 months pregnant. abc's melanie woodrow has the story. >> reporter: when julie welsh was looking for a job in advertising, it was pretty obvious she was expecting. >> i was very much showing and didn't try to hide it. >> reporter: she didn't think it was possible to make a move until after her baby girl was

born. >> i had the voice in my head it wasn't the right, it wasn't going to be possible. >> reporter: but the more she thought about it, the more determined she became. >> yes, i'm carrying this child but my husband and i are both having this baby, and he would never have to think twice about this. >> reporter: after a promising networking hearing at heat, an advertising agency owned by deloitte digital, she decided to really test the waters. >> i feet like this could be a really gate fit and he felt similarly, i was ready to move forward if he was. >> i had been trying to get jen to come work with me since about 2007. so i was pretty happy that she reached out. >> reporter: at 6 1/2 months pregnant, not only did she get the job but she told her new employer she would be better at it if she waited five months after her daughter was born to begin. >> i knew from my first that i could not have gone back to work at three months. >> nobody ever regrets spending more time with her kids.

was saturday. in the upper 30s by clear lake and ukiah, 39 in livermore. it is 43 in san jose, 45 oakland and 49 in san francisco. so 11 degrees colder in oakland, 10 degrees colder in mountain view and san jose. the plan will be to increase the clouds. 10:00 we're partly cloudy with low 50s and by 2:00, mostly cloudy skies, low 60s. we are dry and for the dinner hour numbers in the low to mid 60s. rain stays off shore until t monday morning commute and then several rounds of rain. >> thanks, lisa. tugboats are trying to move a norwegian cruise ship to shore after it was stranded off the coast. they are showing pictures of the viking sky. the ship was carrying about 1,300 passenger and crew when its engines failed yesterday.

it looked terrifying. three of the four engines are working and the shich is now moving at a very slow pace. rescuers are trying to evaluate people on board. helicopters have airlifted 115 passengers one by one. this process though could continue throughout the day. >> we went up on a helicopter with a sling the two of us together. it was quite scary. >> wow. at least eight passengers suffered minor injuries. it's unclear if any of the other passengers still on the cruise ship had been hurt. a father risks his own life to save his daughter from a speeding car, which ends up hitting him instead. here you can see michael devore in a cross walk with his 11-year-old daughter when that red car hits them. this happened back in november in an l.a. neighborhood. he said there was no time to think so he pushed his daughter out of the way, taking the brunt of the impact. his daughter got away from a few scratches but he's still recovering from two broken legs. >> i hoped i would get cleared

ice," a 30-minute special that will care tonight at 6:30 right here on abc7 news. the owner of the new england patriots is apologizing after being charged with two counts of slitsing a prostitute. robert kraft is among nearly 200 men charged in a major sting operation in south florida massage parlors. in a statement he said he's truly sorry and says he knows he hurt his family, fans and others and added he had extraordinary respect for women. he turned down a plea and pleaded not guilty. the nfl has not punished kraft but there's a major meeting for team owners today. many high rices are pulling people out of the bay area, particularly san francisco. a movie came out last week and d hitti hitting theaters soon. >> reporter: there's a famous

vicks sinex. breathe on. community leaders celebrated the opening of san francisco's newly renovated mcclarin park yesterday. abc7 was there for the ribbon-cutting to celebrate the event. state representative scott wiener and other city leaders were also there. the park now has room for nearly four times the number of gardeners. it also features a new rain garden system to manage storm water as well as ga p gazebo, greenhouse, plaza area and more. the community has comeon >> theast thrive about. but now this is a new generation and now it's better than before. >> tree plantings, plot fillings and raffle and tour were held at the park.

bay area. not aonly rain but snow produce for the entire week. the rain will be intermittent on and off and we will talk about that in a minute. 39 in sachbtnta clara, 40s in t north bay. on the coast, it is cold. half moon bay, 39. we will see a mix of clouds and sun in san francisco, clouds winning out throughout the day. increase in clouds, rainy and breezing tomorrow, mainly the north bay but this does push across the bay area through the afternoon and looking at more storm systems throughout the week ahead. here's the deal today with the clouds continuing throughout the afternoon and by 10:00, 11:00, the rain is offsure. 5:00 in the morning for marin, sonoma, napa, it's very wet. as we take you through the lunch hour, it just begins to push over the bay. you will get away with a dry commute in the morning if you live in emeryville or fremont or mountain view but making your way around the bay throughout

the afternoon, scattered showers. at 3:30, you'll notice the line pushi pushing into san francisco. so rainfall amounts favor the north bay. this system looks to stall ut in the out in the north bay. a 10th or less from fremont to mountain view. storm warning tomorrow morning until tuesday. up to 20 inches above 5,000 feet. as we get into the greater lake tahoe area, winter watch tuesday through thursday. this system above 6,000 feet putting down an additional one to three feet. wednesday you can see the totals up to a foot, down south around kirkwood half a foot, maybe three, four inches but the totals will continue through thursday. as we go through monday morning, it's wet and then we clear on out monday night.
