with pg&e which uses about a third of its energy from renewables. the rebuilt emergency oraville spill way will be put into action this week for the first time since it crumbled under heavy rains two years ago. 180,000 people there were forced to evacuate. the department of water resources says the spill way is now fully functional and they plan to test it out tuesday. 20,000 cubic feet of water per second will be released. and that amount could be tripled later in the week if all goes well. the state has been hinting for weeks that the spill way may be needed since a wet winter gives way to a sierra snow melt. the white house is wrapping up the fight to close the border -- >> the acting chief of staff defending president trump's threat to close the southern border this week, unless mexico stops the flow of migrants from

today. changes already happening in our sky. our next storm begins to move in. live doppler 7 this evening, it's a dry sweep and it will be a dry night for a lot of us. outside our east bay hills camera already noticing those changes. we had clear skies. you can see from that vantage point we have a veil of cloud cover coming in ahead of our next cold front. rain chances over the next four days, you can see they are heightened starting tomorrow about a 30% chance. tomorrow i want to emphasize the showers really confined to the north bay by tuesday those chances really go up, 80% and tuesday is the best chance of finding widespread showers across the entire region. ahead of this cold front it's warm out there. 60s and 70s at this hour. 66 in san mateo, 69 in san jose. 68 in santa rosa, and san francisco, after a high of 72.
