it's now 4:30 if you're just waking up to us. good morning. we start with mike ties. you can see this is moving off mainly to the east, maybe a little bit due north of east, but should stay away from us. there is a chance of sporadic light showers in the north bay today. while the rest of us are going to have more clouds than yesterday, temperatures still very mild. 61 at half moon bay. lake port, 62. everybody else around 63 to about 69 degrees. here's a look from mt. tam. you can see it's pretty clean right now. mid to upper 50s at 7:00. upper 60s away from the coast at noon where we'll be 60. we'll hang out in the upper 50s at the coast. cooler by 4:00 as the cold front starts to roll in and bring us a chance of a shower, mid-60s. look at a live shot from the east shore freeway making your way from golden gate fields to the mcarthur maze and it's looking good. you can see the gabs between the headlines there and it looks like a little bit of road work

cards stolen. a road closed because of a reopen. sausalito boulevard was closed off after a huge mound of mud and debris came crashing down a hillside. it happened after days of rain. the slide destroyed at least two homes and damaged four more. one woman barely escaped when the torrent of mud swept her home off its foundation. she came away with scratches and bruises and was the only person injured in that slide. thankfully the rain we have this week will not create situations like that again. we have several chances, but they're mainly on the lighter side. hi, everybody. look at these temperatures in san francisco. 53. that's the coolest and that's right around castro, mission. to the sunset, degrees. we have santa clara at 48.

[ alarmhis u wel only identify because he fears uber will kick him off the platform if he talks to us. >> i'm getting up to start my day. >> reporter: though he has a home in the sacramento area, ray slept in his car at this ride share lot in san francisco. he is one of many ride hailing drivers who travel from outside the bay area to work for lyft and uber and who sleep in their cars to survive. >> you look at the map of san francisco right now. whenever it gets busy, it will light up red. it's like a surge, but we only get a dollar amount. >> reporter: he hopes to make extra money from surge pricing.

let's talk about weather and it will be tougher to get around. as we head through the week, i think the heaviest rain will be thursday into friday. we have a chance today, even though it looks very clear from the east bay hills camera. mostly cloudy today. a random shower across the north bay. the rest of us will get better chances of showers tonight, even some thunderstorms possible and periods of rain and dry weather all the way through my seven-day forecast. temperature tod fn half moon bay to santa cruz at about 70 degrees. most of us around 63 to 69. very comfortable, once again. it will be comfortable tonight. low to mid-40s as a mild air mass will sit on tophance of we weather. the area of low pressure out to our west. most of the rain in the green you see is to the north. there are some a better chance of rain. you could see at 7:00 this morning all the way through about 6:00 this evening, the best chance in the north bay for some showers, and then at 7:00 they start to move down into the rest of the bay and they remain periods of rain all during the

going. a man whoars old because of transplant is looking to find the bay area family who donated the heart to him. he first went into cardiac arrest 23 years ago. he kept having repeated heart attacks. his doctors determined he needed a new heart right away. >> i asked my nurse, i said, honey, how much time do i have to live? she said, you really want to know? yes, please tell me. and she said, well, probably a week. if a heart doesn't come in within a week, you're going to be gone. >> a heart came through from a 44-year-old palo alto man. jack received the transplant in november of 1995 at theow g t t has bee to him and say thank yo tay in the east bay oakland's public libraries will be open more hours. the main library in downtown oakland and the branch on 81st avenue will be open seven days a
