no .dhe ci's homicide mpar tsim ning ace t is mentally competent enough to stand trial for the stabbing death of a young woman on b.a.r.t. john cowell faces charges on the murder of nia wilson in oakland in july. a judge ruled in december that cowell was not competent to stand trial at that time. since then has undergone psychiatric treatment. in the east bay alameda county officials are trying to identify a body found in a fire. police are calling the deaths suspicious. a draw bridge operator saw smoke at veterans memorial park on bayfarm island in alameda around 2:00 yesterday. police then discovered the body. officers searched the park fors witnesses. the crime surprised many people

mast ride share driver, and he's a survivor at a job that's reported to have heavy turnover. >> what happens often in life is you think it's easier than it is. you have to work and develop a school set to become good at it. >> jay has been driving for both uber and lyft for the past three and a half years, and he's given a lot of rides. >> 23,600 rides now. >> and so today we're 23,601. >> that's correct. >> jay is not just a driver, he's a game player searching for the winning strategy. it's been so successful he developed a side hustle with a popular website called the ride share guy and his own blog, ride share dojo. >> i've written 100 articles and made videos. i've broken down how can a driver make the most money possible? >> working at least 50 hours a week but he takes six weeks of vacation a year. >> my first three years i made

>> if he played golf, this was her greens fees. >> there you go. i like it. >> whatever it takes. we have some rain headed our way, not as much as we were advertising earlier in the week which is good news but it's still going to be raining out there. we have a cold front, anemic that will be pushing through the bay area with much less rainfall and we expected. here is live doppler 7 with the rain offshore. it will sweep through, say 10:00. we'll get the timing on it. it's still a 1 on our storm impact scale. the rain will be moderate times and then scattered afternoon showers. it will be breezy. i don't think we're looking at a washout. 55 in redwood city. 56 in napa. a live look outside. dry pavement right now, the golden gate bridge. we'll see that change throughout the morning hours. look for rainy and windy conditions through the middle of th afternoon, mid-morning to 1:30, 2:00. and then the showers will sort of reinvigorate for saturday

morning. all of saturday is not a washout but sunday is the drier day. take a look at 5:00 as we go through the next few hours. the showers line up along the coast but continue to press through the bay area. just light through 9:00. here is the front still hanging back. the north bay through the city, there's 11:30 and then by 1:30 it's moving on out of here. amounts will be light. we're talking maybe a tenth of an inch. behind it there is more. let's take a look at the totals. quarter of an inch to a half inch. .07 in oakland with only .01 into the south bay. in the 60s today and overnight tonight the early morning rain
