14 and even better than that northbound 101 between 286-80 split. and now to one of the top trending stories making headlines this morning. the white house plan to punish political rivals. we've learned president trump wanted to bus immigrants detained at the border and release them on the streets of sanctuary cities including san francisco. abc 7 news reporter jobina fortson is live for us at the i.c.e. office in san francisco with details. jobina? >> reporter: good morning. house speaker nancy pelosi was one of the political adversaries the white house was trying to target in this proposal. as we know her district is san francisco. "the washington post" first reported this story and abc news has since confirmed it. it appears the white house had two versions of this plan. one was to bus migrants taken into custody at the border to sanctuary cities like san francisco and the other was to move migrants who were already

in i.c.e. detention to democratic opponents' districts. the white house reportedly told u.s. immigration and customs enforcement that the plan was to help with a shortage of detention space but also serve as a message to defensemen skrats. the whole thing raised flags with i.c.e. and they told the administration it wasn't going to happen. a dhs spokesperson and white house official both sent statements saying the plan is no longer under consideration and a spokesperson for house speaker pelosi's office did release a statement blasting the entire plan. for now, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. jobina, thank you. the harvard grad student at the center of the college admission scandal set to face a judge this afternoon. >> he is charged with mail fraud and money laundering. here is abc news reporter lindsay davis. >> reporter: learning more about the s.a.t. test taker allegedly used to cheat in operation varsity blues. mark riddell is gearing up for a match in federal court as he plans to plead guilty to mail

expected ramp-up of model 3 producti production. they want to reduce their dependence on the automaker. the demand for batteries remains strong. we're learning more about when san francisco sales force transit center may reopen. cracked steel beams forced the facility to close in september only one month after it opened. the board overseeing the center says work to install a permanent fix should start next wednesday. repairs could be finished by early june. the repair work will need to be inspected. an opening date for the public has not been set. on the peninsula the union representing two of the bay area's top-ranked hospitals has voted to authorize a strike. 85% of the union's 3,700 registered nurses at stanford health care and the children's hospital voted to move forward with a potential strike. nurses are asking for higher wages and safer work place conditions.

it could happen as early as the 21st. the union would need to give hospitals a ten day notice before nurses plan to strike. officials at san francisco international airport say emergency work to repair a runway pothole should hold up until there's a permanent fix. the repair took eight hours to complete. the 12-inch depression was discovered at dawn at runways 28 left and 1 right. now 28 left is important because it's used heavily for arriving flights so the work caused some delays of about 35 minutes on average. sfo has a plan to address the issue later this summer. >> we'll be creating a new concrete base below the layers of asphalt in september. >> the original base is several decades old. sfo says about six to eight depressions happen every single year, mike.

for us at the walnut creek b.a.r.t. station. good morning, amy. >> reporter: yeah, what do you prefer, armed police officers or unarmed ambassadors? we are hearing support for both out here this morning at this b.a.r.t. station. the b.a.r.t. board of directors does agree on one thing and that is they need to address the crime issue on b.a.r.t. the debate is how to do that. the general manager carved out $2 million in the new proposed budget to hire more armed police officers. but some b.a.r.t. directors said they would rather have unarmed ambassadors trained to de-escalate situations and reduce erratic and sometimes violent behavior. here is what some riders have to say this morning. >> not going to lie, most would be done by people less affluent, like some homeless individuals, stuff like that. i don't think armed guards is the way to go. that's not even fair.

class size caps as well as w better staffing. they will receive a 4.5% raise if the contract is ratified. a vote is scheduled by the dublin teachers union monday afternoon. this morning the u.s. government is taking its first steps to extradite wikileaks co-founder julian assange. abc news has learned assange fears the prospect of violent attacks on him in an american prison if he were to be extradited. he was forcibly removed from the ecuadorian embassy and arrested yesterday. he is charged with conspiring to help former intelligence analyst chelsea manning break into computers and leak secret documents. >> the indictment does not accuse him of publishing. the crime is not the publishing of the information. he was charged with assisting chelsea manning is trying to crack a password and trying to help her get access to information she wouldn't have had access to.
