sources tell "the washington post," the report will be lightly redacted. >> abc's elizabeth hur has the latest from washington. elizabeth, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to s s y just wrong. they are demanding that the attorney general cancel the press conference. but it is still happening. and we know mueller himself will not be there. attorney general william barr coming under fire after announcing he and his deputy a.g., rod rosenstein, will hold a press conference, before releasing a redacted version of the mueller report. >> the attorney general appears to be waging a media campaign on behalf of president trump. >> reporter: democrats, now calling on barr to let the report speak for itself. senate majority leader chuck schumer saying the process is poisoned. and nancy pelosi says, a.g. barr has thrown out his credibility. democrats are also blasting reports that the justice department has already discussed the special counsel's findings with the white house.

>> i've not seen it. the president hasn't seen it. >> reporter: it was president trump who broke the news about barr's press conference during a radio interview yesterday. >> you'll see a lot of very strong things come out. >> reporter: barr has already declared that mueller found the president and his campaign didn't collude with russia. but allegations on obstruction, barr concluded there wasn't enough evidence to prove that. "the washington post" is now reporting the mueller report will be lightly redacted and the report will reveal that mueller decided he could not come to a conclusion on obstruction because it was too difficult to determine trump's intent. again, we are told we will not see or hear from mueller today. but that could change down the road, as democrats say they have not ruled out calling on mueller to testify before congress. kenneth and janai? >> elizabeth, a long day ahead. thank you. breaking overnight, a security scare at st. patrick's cathedral in new york, just days after the fire at notre dame. police say a man tried to enter

st. patrick's last night with two gas cans. there was lighters and lighter fluid. the suspect claimed he was taking a short cut because his car had run out of gas. officers later found that wasn't true. he is now expected to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. money and time are the major factors in the rebuilding effort at notre dame. some experts say restoring notre dame will take at least twice as long as the five years suggested by french president emmanuel macron. new images show the damage from above. about half of the $2 billion expected to be needed for the restoration have been pledged by donors. now, to the diver in tennessee rescued after being trapped in an underwater cave for more than 24 hours. he is an elite cave diver that was part of the rescue of a thai soccer team last year. overnight, we learned how rescuers finally got him out. this morning, a missing cave diver in tennessee is safe.

>> he did a great job of keeping his mental faculties about him. it went way smoother than i thought it was going to. >> reporter: josh bratchley had been missing since tuesday afternoon, diving in a cave about one hour from nashville. his fellow divers spent hours trying to find him before calling authorities. >> there was a group of about five that went in to explore this cave. when they came back out, they were missing one individual. >> reporter: the cave is about 400 feet long, with tight turns and jagged edges. the water temperature, just 55 degrees. >> it's a very narrow opening. once you get in the cave, it opens up somewhat. but still not a large amount. >> reporter: conditions in the cave are so difficult, specialty diver edd sorenson was brought in from florida to help with the rescue. sorenson found bratchley in less than an hour, more than 24 hours after he was last seen. >> i was amazed. i mean, i probably could have been to him sooner but i was checking every nook and cranny and crevasse for a body. when i popped out of the surface, i was looking directly at him. >> reporter: sorenson eventually

found bratchley in an air pocket. >> shockingly, there he was, as calm as can be. he said, thank you, thank you. who are you? >> reporter: bratchley is no stranger to cave diving. the british cave rescue diver calls him one of the best cave divers in the world. he is a member of the elite british diving team that helped rescue 12 soccer players and their coach from a cave in thailand last summer. here he is posing for a picture with british prime minister theresa may and other rescue divers. bratchley spoke about that experience on "good morning britain." >> the relief when we emerged to find that the kids were safe was amazing. >> reporter: now, after being rescued himself in tennessee, bratchley had only one request after his long ordeal. >> his only request was that he wanted some pizza. >> bratchley refuse ed medical treatment. and he's already looking forward to his next dive. >> and some pizza. north korea has announced a new weapons test. photos show kim jong-un

overseeing the test firing of a guided weapon. they did not involve a ballistic missile. if confirmed, it would be the first public weapons test since kim and president trump abruptly ended their second summit in hanoi without a nuclear deal. federal prosecutors say a task force has pulled off the biggest known takedown of opioid prescribers. they've arrested 60 medical professionals and dozens of doctors they call white-coated drug dealers. they are accused of trading painkillers for cash and sex. they're responsible for putting 32 million pills on the street from alabama to west virginia. we're tracking a line of powerful storms likely to last through the weekend. at least seven tornadoes have touched down from the texas panhandle to kansas, including this one in northwestern oklahoma. hailstorms hitting north texas in gainesville, forced airlines to suspend hundreds of flights. it appears the worst is over for now. let's take a closer look at your thursday forecast. >> good morning.

we're looking for a combination of stormy weather, severe storms and the likelihood of flash flooding in some areas, targeting the lower mississippi valley region, the tennessee valley region, along the gulf coast and eastern portions of texas. we're looking at target area of throughout the day, covering up nashville, i-40 and in portions of alabama with urban flash flooding and the possibility of tornadoes. looking for stagnant showers in parts of the northeast. i'm accuweather meteorologist paul williams. coming up, a very new kind of potato chip. see if you've tried it. but first -- word of another staff shakeup in the trump administration. and new research on screen time and kids. just how much of a problem it can become. and more on this shocking crash. a family barely avoids getting killed outside of a restaurant. we'll hear from that mom, next.

in this 911 audio, exclusively obtained by abc news, we learned this was one of the few times jordan turpin has been outside. >> i have never been out. i don't go out much. so, i don't anything about the streets or anything. >> reporter: at 6:00 a.m. that morning, she grabbed a brother's deactivated cell phone and called the only number it would dial. the 911 dispatcher peeling back the layers of horror. jordan's call would free the rest of her siblings and land her parents in jail. it's the first time we heard from the children about the horrors the parents were convicted of, including counts of torture and false imprisonment. >> i live in a family of 15 people and my parents are abusive. they abuse us. and my two little sisters right now are chained up. there's 13 kids and a mother and father. >> reporter: and another shocking revelation. >> does anybody at the house take any kind of medications.

>> i don't know what medication is. >> reporter: jordan's call would free the rest of her siblings and land her parents in jail. matt gutman, abc news, los angeles. >> incredible story. the turpins pleaded guilty in february. and they will be sentenced tomorrow to 25 years to life in prison. we learned new details about a close call about an american airlines flight. the wing was damaged when it left jfk airport in new york last night. the pilot turned back. no one was hurt. the plane tipped to the left side in heavy winds, hitting a light and scraping the runway during takeoff. the faa is investigating. researchers at st. jude hospital says they've found a cure for the disorder called bubble boy disease. they used an experimental gene therapy technique to restore the immune system of ten babies. children with the disease often don't make it to their second birthday. but researchers say the new approach has shown outstanding results with no immediate side effects.

they're now hoping to apply it to other genetic diseases. a woman in florida wasted no time fighting back against a would-be thief. the 65-year-old says she saw a man trying to break into her car. the 300-pound antonio moseley was wearing only his boxer shorts. but she took matters into her own hands. >> i took the bat and hit him -- oh. he was in his draws. he didn't have no shoes on, no shirt or nothing. >> the suspect fled but police later tracked him down. he faces drug possession and burglary charges. in sports, this fall's nfl schedule has been released. rob gronkowski won't be playing this year, but he's making headlines in retirement. he dented a super bowl trophy, right there, using it as a bat during an event at fenway park. that punt he tried, that left a dent. the baseball's impact left a circular dent in the trophy, you

an earthquake has caused damage in taipei. >> taiwanese television stations showed overturned furniture in homes and offices and at least one landslide among the mountainous and lightly populated east coast. one multistory building in taipei was reported to be leaning against a building next door. san francisco is preparing to mark the anniversary of the 190 earthquake and fire. >> amy hollyfield is live with a preview. amy? >> reporter: hi, good morning. people are here starting to gather. some are in costume. they dress up as people from 1906. we do have some video to show you of last year's event so can you see what to expect this morning. they gather here because this was a 1906 quake was a 7.9.
