we found out this is not the first time this incident has taken place with this new muni train. we found out accord too sfmta, the first incident was reported september 25th. the video took place last friday. >> it's a who are rick scene, a woman can be seen walking up to the train the doors closing in while part of her hand is stuck. an employee speaks to her but the train pulls away. the woman was dragged onto the train tracks. the video obtained by the san francisco examiner. >> possibly her finger because the door closed with less than a half inch of space between the door and the door jamb when she reached her hand for the door. >> reporter: sfmta says the sliding doors in their new trainses are safe and showed us how they work. >> they're sensitive edges within the doors that can detect when a hand or object is in the door preventing it from closing. >> reporter: what happened? >> in this case it, appears the

door had close. >> reporter: this is not the only problem with the new fleet of trains. a pin holding two cars together snapped in mid ride. >> we've decided not to couple the trains with one car into a two-car train till we get answers exactly what's going on with the sheer pin. >> reporter: but after this incident, the california utilities commission says it's investigating and will inspect both the pin system and the doors. >> my understanding is some of the operators flagged this was an issue and they were concerned about it. >> reporter: there are 60 of these new muni trains and 40 are out in the street. also the california public utilities commission did inspect these trains for six months prior to approving them. live in san francisco, loose 11:00, a toddler in critical condition after falling from the fire escape of an apartment building in downtown oakland. police responded to martin
