like the pins there. jays scored four in the second to take the lead. former a's sogard, rbi single off of aaron brooks, and how about davis. fouling off a lot of good pitches in the eighth inning. and then strike three called. toronto's marcus strohman goes eighth. allows one run. bottom of the ninth. that is high strike. and he's punched out. does not like i. that ended the game. and what does he do, he spits at home plate ump, and might get suspended for that. a's lose 5-1. how about the giants in pittsburgh? madison bumgarner, two out in the bottom of the first, nobody on base and then the wheels come off. a two-run double here. bum did not give up a run the rest of his six innings. but the damage was done. and this, this is damage. top of the eighth. with a flare to center. look out, look out, eric gonzalez. full speed. into each other.

martay got the worst of the color bone, maybe a rib. that was easy. giants lose. that's a wrap on morning sports. have a great weekend, everybody. i'm larry beil. let get a look at the bay area forecast with meteorologist lisa arguen. >> a cold front is moving through the area. here is emeryville, looks nice but wind and clouds and a few raindrops and this is all pushing to the south of us. throughout the day today. so if you've got plans for the afternoon, plan on a cooler one. in fact, we will look for temperatures today, the coolest day of the week, this is santa rosa, a high of just around 70, 71 and then tomorrow the numbers go up and the winds back off and the winds totally do a 180. mid to upper 80s monday, tuesday, wednesday, and thursday, we get some cooling, and then the weekend looks cool ir, but look at that flag behind me, it is blowing out there. from san francisco, and just at the surface, in the upper elevations, so everywhere, experiencing, and the coastal

gap, some of those gusty winds, do to this cold front and it spread just a little bit of rain here and there but you notice the cloud cover, the fog is out, there and we will see temperatures affected by all of that today. 57 in san jose. 53 in morgan hill. good morning, san francisco, 52. over in to the east bay, you notice the clouds here. kind of gray out there. but we will get into partly sunny conditions. 54 santa rosa. 58 in concord. and for our friends in livermore. 54 for you. one final stop here, you can see the gray clouds here, and the wind blowing there. that will certainly be a factor today. influencing the weather. but temperatures are really going to dramatically shift upward tomorrow, and in next week. so mist and drizzle. some fog. and the cooler day today. milder for easter. and then a big warmup on the way. this is easter with less wind, in the mid-70s inland, upper 60s oakland, and everyone will have sunny sky, still a little cool at the coast but by monday, you're about five degrees warmer there, already into the low 80s inland, mid 70s around the bay.
8:49 am
tuesday, the numbers continue to crank up. as the ocean influence really stops. and we'll be looking at those drier winds from the east coming on in. and that will take us through wednesday as well. look at that wind gust. san francisco, 44 miles an hour. the colors indicate the gustier winds by the delta. 32 miles an hour. at the coast. and then as we go to mount tam and mount diablo, 35 to 40 mile-an-hour wind gusts. oakland hills over 20 miles an hour. throughout the afternoon, here we go, with the red representing the gustiest winds. the yellow is pretty darn windy. and then it is breezy with the double digit wind gusts here throughout 2:00, 15 to 20 miles an hour. so today, certainly the coolest day you'll feel it out there, and then the numbers barely at 70 in the warmest locations. but the skies will continue to clear, and we will look for a brighter day, throughout the afternoon, but temperature-wise, it's not going to be any really warm day, in fact, it is going to be on the blustery side. mid to upper 60s, coast,

peninsula, and at the beaches, just upper 50s, near 70 in the warmest locations, tomorrow, for easter, waking up with a lot of sunshine, and 6:27 is the sunrise, it will be bright and sunny, with 70s, for our inland valleys, and tonight, it will be cooler, with the clouds breaking up. the accu-weather seven-day forecast, the numbers go up tomorrow, earth day is looking warm, even summer-like, into the middle of the week. around the bay inland, the coast warms up and not too terribly much and then we cool off by next weekend. so a little blustery out there to start. >> as a kid, i hated nothing more than a wet and soggy easter egg hunt. >> there's been plenty of them. >> tomorrow, glad to see that. >> lisa, thank you. next with springtime flowers in full bloom, an annual tradition is

tomorrow, that all goes away, we're sunny from the beginning of the day, towards the end, where temperatures will climb into the 70s inland. and then by monday, tuesday, wednesday, it's warmer for everyone with an offshore flow. and then cooler by the end of the week. so that's a springtime forecast with those wild swings. >> can't wait for the warmth. >> yes. >> it will be good. >> lisa, thank you. thanks for joining us on abc 7 mornings. i'm chris nguyen, alongside lisa argen. we will leave you with a live look outside. the abc 7 bay area spotlight is coming up. abc 7 news returns at 5:00 p.m. until then, make it a great day, everybody. >> this is the abc7 "bay area spotlight." this week's advertisement is paid for by godaddy. >> hi, everyone. i'm danielle bellini. today we are talking about something very cool. it's called bionic yarn, and it's a fabric made from recycled plastic. the company recently teamed up with godaddy as part of the make the world you want campaign, and we'll be hearing all about that incredible partnership.
8:55 am
we'd like to welcome the co-founder of bionic yarn, tyson toussant and then brand manager alex tapia. guys, great to have you here. >> great to be here. >> thank you for having us. >> can we start off -- and we'd love to hear more -- about bionic yarn and its mission. >> well, bionic is a mission-driven material-engineering company. and we focus on plastics that are recovered in marine and coastal environments. and we make materials from that -- anything from t-shirt to jeans to wall coverings and upholstery for furniture. >> incredible, amazing. i love that it's mission-based. and how long have you been working on this, and why is it so important to you? >> it's been about 10 years now. and we didn't want to just get into business just to have a successful business. we wanted to kind of have a legacy behind us, and we felt like combining our interests and passions with helping the environment would be a nice way to go to do that. >> and i understand that you have a connection to costa rica. you're working with the local government there to help solve the problem of recycling
8:56 am
plastic. so, i'd like to hear more about that. >> yeah, so, we're in a small town in the nicoya peninsula in costa rica. the local government there has different priorities, just because of everything that's going on. there's a lot of issues that the locals care about, and plastic isn't really one of the issues that they can pay attention to at the moment. so we're kind of taking over the municipality responsibilities and interjecting ourselves to kind of stop the cycle of collecting the plastic, and then it goes into the landfill. and then, you know, the rainy season comes, and that all washed out into the ocean. >> you guys are working with some big-name brands. so, how important are those relationships for bionic yarn? >> i'd say it's what makes us real, because we could be doing this on our own. there's some people who passionately collect plastic on the beach, and unfortunately, they don't have a place to take it to, to make sure that it stays out of it. so we think it's important because, right now, the economy and the environment are kind of separate from each other, and need to find a way to marry them so it's sort of like a symbiotic system.
8:57 am
when we throw something away, there really is no such thing as "away." you kind of have to live with it. so why not live with it in new products that you can be proud of, until we figure out a way to get rid of plastic in general? for now, we're buying time by putting it to products you love. >> speaking of partnerships, you guys have teamed up with godaddy -- a new campaign, make the world you want. congratulations. that's just awesome news. we all know how important it is to have a digital presence that's strong, to help fuel the business, so we want to hear more about what that's been like for you to be on board with godaddy. what has that been like for you? >> it's been amazing. as you can hear, we have a very difficult job that's definitely not linear. we're all over the place. and the skill set you need to really be impactful in your digital space is a lot over our heads. and to be able to trust someone like godaddy to handle all the sensitive issues, like our ssl certificate or just dealing with our domain security and the other things that come along with having a digital presence, which we're not skilled to do,
8:58 am
and to be able to trust someone like that has been very important. >> i read an article, and this headline struck me -- "how a pair of jeans could save our plastic-choked oceans." that was about you guys -- about bionic yarn. did you realize you had such a good story, going into this, and kind of where this journey would take you? >> probably not. we had no idea. we still probably don't understand what's going on. we've just been, like, so in our world, just trying to do something that we are happy and passionate about. really grateful that a company like godaddy has helped to amplify our voice out here. >> and you know, godaddy has been such a supporter of you and of bionic yarn, and they are all about empowering the entrepreneur to get online, get help to get online, and just go and fly and make their business successful. so, for anyone watching who has a passion and an idea, just has no idea where to start, what would you say? what advice might you give? >> i'd say, don't be intimidated by the digital world that you have to jump into. partnering with a company like godaddy is the best bet, because
8:59 am
you need to be able to focus on what you're doing and know that you can trust in that partner to help you through it. >> well, you both are very inspiring, and i wish you the best. i can't wait to see what is next for bionic yard. so, to anyone watching who is sitting on an idea they are passionate about, and just need to take that very first step, visit and start for free at godaddy.com. we can't wait to hear your story, and wish you the best of luck. thanks for watching. >> thanks for watching "bay area spotlight." this week's advertisement was paid for by godaddy -- inspiring people to make the world they want. get started at godaddy.com.
