elizabeth holmes appeared in federal court in san jose. she along with the company's president are accused of misleading investors. her attorneys are asking for more time to reveal the millions of pages of documents. another hearing is scheduled for july 1st. overseas, more than 300 people are dead and hundreds more injured informing a series of attacks on easter sunday sri lanka. at least 24 people have now been arrested in connection with the easter terror attacks in lanka. hundreds killed and multiple sites. >> some of the victims were indeed u.s. citizens. this is america's fight, too. >> the first american to be named, he was standing in line

a wrom has been arrested for dumping seven puppies into a coachella dumpster. there was video showing her being taken into custody at her home earlier today. officials say there were about 30 dogs inside her home which they took to a shelter. as for those seven puppies, they are doing fine after being found by a man who was picking through the trash. >> abc7 news is committed to a better bay area. a reason report by the bay area council economic institute put a staggering price tag on the solution. the $12.7 billion. in theory, listen to this. that's enough money to build a $450,000 house for each of the people reported reported

homeless. in san francisco, one solution, a proposed navigation center is dividing the community. tomorrow they are scheduled to vote on the proposed shelter along san francisco's embarcadero. it would bring 130 bes to a lot on brine street. the orange proposal called for 225 beds was downsized after neighbors spoke up against it. some advocates argue the best way to fight homelessness is to prevent it in the first place. that's what some services are doing in san francisco. kate larson has one mother's success story. >> i had my son when i was 16. >> she then married her son's father. that relationship did not turn out as expected. >> it was physically and mentally and emotionally abusive. >> so she filed for divorce. a basic decision that put her in another decision. the brink of homelessness. >> i was working a part-time job
