breaking news in sunnyvale where police say a driver deliberately plowed into pedestrians at el camino real and saratoga road. >> still a very wide and active scene. the westbound lanes of el camino real still shut down at this hour. i want to give you an idea of. why moments ago we saw the fire department extend into the sky to get a bird's eye view of this scene. back on the ground, you can see the car at the center of this frightening collision. the front of the car justd. sms theree w the ferohe firpath ofruction. hun crs t sidewalk. and no sign the driver ever tried to stop. >> eight people on this sunnyvale sidewalk, out on a warm tuesday night. around 6:40 p.m., a man plowed

through at el camino real and saratoga road. the group was possibly target by the driver, a man they believe purposely turned into the group driving full speed. >> it looks like it might have been an intentional act. the driver is in custody. >> eight victims were taken to the hospital. the youngest, a then-year-old girl. dps says some victims suffered serious injuries. witnesses stay driver made no effort to stop. >> we have witness statemets that showed the vehicle did not attempt to show down or break. and that the scene itself doesn't show any kind of evidence of breaking. >> the crime scene extends about a half block down el camino real. those who live in the area say it is a busy intersectn surrounded by businesses. >> people are just walking to get to these restaurants. and food places and grocery stores, rather than getting in their car and driving there. >> it is unclear whether the driver knew any of the victims.

here's the place you need to go. the coast. tomorrow it will be noticeably cooler at the coast. 66, pacifica, monday ray, degrees. certainly lower than the temperature you experienced today. we do have one little lonely patch of fog, dropping the visibility in half moon bay. five miles. we'll be seeing the temperatures go down. look at the. 60s, physical for many part of the area. half moon bay is the only exception. a sparking san francisco. you will notice the heat holds on inland. the koog trend continues through the morning. tomorrow morning a mild start for most of the bay area. you can heave your jacket behind. a little fog near the coastline there. half moon bay, point southward
