concerns. the new plan restricts how b.a.r.t. will use the data. now to the latest in the easter suicide bombings in sri lanka. the nation's president has demanded the resignations of the defense secretary and head of the national police. this morning isis is claiming responsibility for the attacks which killed more than 350 people. the fbi is in sri lanka to assist with the investigation. reporter elizabeth hur is in washington. >> reporter: they are trying to bring the situation under control within the next couple of days. for now the danger isn't over yet. sri lanka on high alert with the government urging the public to remain vigilant with more attackers still out there. >> we will be making further arrests. >> reporter: the manhunt intensifying now with t fbi joining the investigation and announcing changes are on the way, admitting there were warnings missed or ignored.

this as police examined surveillance images of the alleged attackers for answers including this suspected bomber caught on cameras. isis has claimed responsibility posting this picture of the men they say were the suicide bombers. the motive still under investigation but officials believe this was planned in retaliation for the two mosque attacks in new zealand where 50 worshippers were killed. officials maintain there is no credible threat. the fbi and homeland security issued a bulletin announcing they remain vigilant with the potential for copycat attacks. governor newsom is ordering an investigation into california's climbing gasoline prices. in san francisco aaa says that drivers are paying $4.11. that is well above the national average of $2.85.

all right, we're back. here is another look at areas that i'm thinking will hit or tie record highs. oakland will be very close. i have a high of 80. the record is 81. mountain view could tie one at 84. san jose mayor mayor mayor m a pay raise. a city committee voted to give him the raise. he says he'll only accept a smaller 3% pay hike like city employees are getting that amounts to around $4,000. he is the lowest paid big city mayor in the bay area.

libby schaaf $203,000. a new york man is suing apple for $1 billion claiming the company's facial recognition system falsely connected him to a series of thefts. the 18-year-old man says the real suspect used his stolen driver's license permit which doesn't have a photo when he was asked for i.d. apple programmed its security systems to recognize a suspect's face as his own. apple says it does not use that in its stores. scientists are celebrating a major breakthrough learning more about mars. >> you're about to hear the rumbling of what researchers are calling a mars quake. the waves you see represent shaking represented earlier this month. nasa's insight lander delivered

it does sound like it could be serious. this is before you get to the 680 split. some injuries are involved. possibly someone is trapped in a vehicle. we are seeing a backup. not adding a ton of time to your commute. that could be a big issue if it's blocking for long. a check of drive times. westbound 80 highway 4 to the maze, 17 minutes. about 11 across the bay bridge. southbound 101 san francisco to sfo still in the green at ten minutes. the next time you want to return something you bought on amazon you may not have to go to the post office. kohl's will let you return that item at one of its stores. and starting in july kohl's will accept amazon returns at all of its 1,100 stores. kohl's has been testing returns at 100 stores for nearly two years. the service is free and eligible items will not need a box or label to be returned. the company sees it as a way to get people in their stores.
