keatchins to unfurl. parts of san francisco, but that's about it. the rest of us have to wait until tomorrow. we're starting off in the 50s, upper 50s in most neighborhoods. 50s to low 60s. a warm lunch for our bay and inland communities. still low to upper 70s. hi, alexis. westbond 580 at tassajara, things are moving along. we had a crash for a long time. a couple pickup trucks were involved. 580 before you get to the 680 supplies, now hearing four vehicles were involved and all of them are gone.

we'll look at drive times up next. developing news in sunnyvale. a major intersection in the city expected to remain closed for at least another two hours. police say a driver may have deliberately hit a group of pedestrians. >> the driver has been arrested. you can see all the orange cones blocking off a part of the intersection. this happened at 6:40 last night. eight people were standing on the sidewalk when the car drove into them. the front of the car, as you can see, mangled. the victims were taken to the hospital. some of them are seriously hurt. according to police the car was seen speeding through the busy intersection before it plowed through the group. and here is another live look at the scene. police say sunnyvale avenue will

reporter anser hassan is at the scene and will give us a live report in about a half hour. we have learned a skateboarder who was killed in a crash in san francisco may have been holding on to a truck at the time. that is according to people who saw the crash between mission and howard. witnesses told police it was the same truck that hit him. it happened yesterday afternoon. a friend at the scene told us the victim is pablo ramirez, who was well known in the skateboarding community. >> as part of our effort to build a better bay area we've been looking into issues like homelessness. >> and plans to build a controversial navigation center along the waterfront are now moving forward. the opposition still vowing to fight. the center set to be at bryant street. that is where reporter amy hollyfield is right now. they voted to move this thing forward. what happens next? >> reporter: it's not over yet.

the port commission see no, sir problem putting a navigation system here. it voted unanimously to put one here. people who live in the area say not so fast. they were very passionate. they fought hard speaking for about four hours during the public comment section. since the vote did not go their way residents are considering a lawsuit. advocates say centers like this are needed. >> i think this will be a good step forward in addressing homelessness in san francisco. >> it has the most young children and growth of young children. it's increased by 49%. we don't need more coming into the area, doing drugs in the neighborhood. >> reporter: the city of san francisco has six navigation centers.

they also offer services and get people into permanent housing. let me show you where we are. this is thent st right undernea the bay bridge. the waterfront is across thethe. construction here could start as early as june. amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. the board of supervisors has approved a pilot program to help people living in their cars or rvs. "the chronicle" reports the overnight safe parking pilot program will create a triage center where these people living in their vehicles can park overnight and have access to showers and bathrooms. mayor london breed committed $1 million to fund the program. the city will need to propose a site within three months.

they had to evacuate 20 nearby hmes. we're told no union pacific investigating what may have caused that derail many. new this morning lime scooter removing some of its scooters from the streets after they got hacked. vandals altered the audio files to play offensive messages. the san francisco-based company is trying to figure out how the scooters got tampered with. it involves eight of its scooters. people say they heard bizarre voice messages. new at 7:00, growing concerns about the safety of vaping. a study found out that dangerous bacterial and fungal toxins. they tested 75 cartridges and found 27% of those tested contained the toxin. they can create a number of health problems including

as soon as we got the all clear from our first crash of the morning in dublin just before 680, word of a no crash in the exact same location this sounds like two vehicles involved. we did have the two right lanes blocked. they are sending an ambulance. it was just starting to thin out and recover. so keeping an eye on that. we were almost back into the green before the new backup formed. harbor bay ferry if you're riding from harbor bay, the 7:00 a.m. trip has been canceled. they did not give a reason for that. hurry and make the 6:30 trip. to get license plate readers to fight crime in its parking lots. the east bay times reportsy vot tomorrow. it would capture license plate information and images of every car that enters b.a.r.t. lots. the board shut down a similar program in 2016 because of privacy concerns. the new plan restricts the data it collects. governor newsom is ordering an investigation into california's climbing gasoline prices. aaa says drivers are paying $4.11 a gallon. that is well above the national average of $2.85. in oakland the average is $4.04. the governor now wan to know if the oil try is deliberately driving up prices. experts say higher taxes, tougher gas standards and environmental rules should only account for a 70 cent difference between california and the rest of the nation. stanley cup fever alive and
