in sunnyvale. >> police want to charge isaiah peoples with eight counts of attempted murder. say there's no indication of terrorism. >> cornell spoke with the families. >> reporter: peoples' family can't believe he's capable of violence. say he's a troubled iraq war veteran. >> never been in any trouble, arrested, to jail. >> mother of suspect isaiah peoples never imagined something so horrible would involve her son. 34-year-old peoples is suspected of driving into pedestrians thursday night injuring eight people. brother says iraq war veteran, treated for ptsd. >> gone because was battling mental issues because he didn't take the medicine he had for ptsd.

jose, suspect isaiah peoples was booked into the county jail. held for psychological evaluation. girl one of eight injured in peoples' suspected path of destruction. pd has not uncovered a motive but says no accident. >> attempted murder based on evidence from the scene. >> reporter: youngest victim a nine-year-old boy. some at valley medical center. peoples traveling westbound on el camino royal toward sunnyvale avenue, hit the gas, taking out others on the corner. details are difficult to process. chuck herrera felt he had to say
