by the time they got here, it died out on its own basically. >> reporter: now police wouldn't give us any details about any suspect or suspects or if anybody was taken into custody. we have been told there are no reports of any injuries. reporting live in daly city, anser hassan, abc 7 news. it is 4:30. if you're just waking up, good morning. a quick update on weather and traffic. we start with mike. i want to start with the winds on live doppler 7. you can see full on onshore wind. 22-mile-per-hour wind at fairfield and look at the cloud cover. just about all of us starting off gray. a little bit of mist out there possible near the coast in our higher elevations. the fog is pretty high or the low clouds are high as you can see from sutro tower this morning. 46 to 53 degrees. we'll keep an eye to see if there's any fog. our lowest visibility is about 5 miles. mid to upper 50s at the coast. near 70 at 4:00. so just a touch below average.

let's see if everybody is heading back to work after all those holiday breaks, alexis. i think so. we're looking okay so far this morning. no major incidents to talk about and no slowdowns either. a live look at walnut creek. 680 north of the 24 split, filling in lightly this morning. no major problems for you and our drive time is looking good, too. the one exception, the only one not in the green so far, westbound 580 tracy to dublin, in the yellow at 34 minutes. southbound 680 dublin to mission boulevard and 101 to cupertino looking good at 16 minutes. and at the live desk this morning we just got new details this morning about the deadly synagogue shooting near san diego. the suspect has also now been linked to a recent mosque arson fire. 19-year-old john earnest, accused of killing one woman and injuring three others including the rabbi in saturday's shooting, earnest ran from the scene while being shot at by an off-duty border patrol agent who

was attending services at the synagogue. he was arrested about a mile away. the rabbi then described the moment that the suspected shooter opened fire. >> this man standing with a rifle pointing point blank at me, and he starts shooting right towards me. >> investigators are examining the alleged shooter's social media history including an open letter posted online saying he wanted to kill jews. earnest has been charged with murder and will likely face federal hate crime charges. reggie? by the end of the day the jury will be selected for the ghost ship warehouse fire trial. court officials say the pool of qualified jurors will be narrowed down to 12 with six alternates. opening statements are expected tomorrow. they are each charged with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. lawyers claim the men are being made scapegoats for the deadly fire even though city inspectors knew about conditions at the warehouse. we are hearing from the nehe weekend.

one of the woman's best friends. >> i can't begin to tell you how angry i am at this man, how irresponsible, despicable and rotten i think his people in the neighborhood ran with their own dogs across butterfield narrowly avoiding cars and parents ushered their children into bike lanes to keep clear of the constant rush of traffic. mike lives on butterfield road. he and his wife frequently call police to report dangerous driving. >> we request extra patrol. we'll see cars come down the street, but people still drive like maniacs down the street. >> reporter: a longtime friend and neighbor of the woman killed says she frequently walked her dogs past dark. >> i always worried about her walking them at night. >> reporter: boswell was booked on half a million dollars bail. i'm kate larsen, abc 7 news. the president of the union representing muni operators is urging them to work overtime after a service meltdown on friday that started with a downed power line in the tunnel

between the west portal station and downtown san francisco. riders were told to use shuttle buses. a shortage of drivers made the delays worse. the drivers have refused to work overtime because of a contract dispute with the city. we'll have much more on the story coming up in our next half hour. 4:35 now. emergency housing is arriving in butte county for victims of the campfire. fema is setting up hundreds of manufactured homes in several locations. the november fire was the deadliest and most destructive on record in california history. some survivors are still living. money for that is set to end on may 10th and fire victims will have to move. all right. let's take a look at what's going on. you have a quick look at the accuweather highlights. we'll have a little bit of sunshine today just like we did yesterday with temperatures running at about the same rate, maybe just a little bit cooler. we'll talk more about the warm trends coming in the accuweather

seven-day forecast. first a look at the low to mid-50s along the shore from orinda to san leandro to oakland, the warm spot at 56 degrees. here is a look at what's going on elsewhere. mid to upper 40s in novato, albany, pacifica, also in pleasanton. everyone else in the low to mid-50s. look at this south beach, it was really dry crossing the bay bridge. no fog there but cloudy. we'll say clouds, a little mist is possible along the coast. it'll be cool to comfortable if you're taking manss transit a. few breezy spots where you would expect low clouds like this near the golden gate bridge, alcatraz and angel island. it's pretty breezy for your ferry ride. a look at the peninsula. we're in the 50s through 9:00 with some clouds and then you the mid to upper 60s. as far as the east bay valley, same thing. clouds and a little bit of sunshine. 50s through 9:00. and then full-on sunshine. near 70 this afternoon. and then we'll look at san jose

where it's getting increasingly cloudier this morning. you will have pretty much the same bay valleys with a whole lot of sunshine after 9:00. take a look at the cooler temperature tomorrow and the wild swing that will bring 80s back to the forecast in a couple days. first i want to bring alexis in. what are you seeing? nothing much. not complaining on a monday morning. probably not if i had to bet, i would say no. one incident on the board. westbound 80 near cutting boulevard. a solo vehicle crash. sounds like they spun out and ended up on the right shoulder so it's not a blocking situation. a tow truck is on the scene. no word on injuries here. doesn't sound like we have anything too serious and no delays through the area either. so far mass transit looking good. b.a.r.t. trains begin running at 5:00 a.m. when they do start running the tracks are back open. i know we had a closure due to

back to you. today officials in washington state are expected to formally release the identities of the four people killed when a construction crane fell from a seattle building. new video shows the crane as it collapsed on saturday. the driver was stopped at a red light and watched in horror as it broke into pieces. one of the victims is a college student, sarah wang. she grew up in southern california. she was in a car crushed by a section of the crane. another driver died along with crane workers. they wonder if winds were a factor. >> there were strong winds at the time we heard the crash. >> video from the space needle also captured the collapse. itas being used mateo county sheriff's office is working to identify the body of a man found floating in the ocean off the coast of half moon bay.

the remains were recovered near the ritz-carlton hotel yesterday morning. investigators say the victim had been dead for some time. officials took custody of the body and will identify the victim. 4:44 now. the latest investigation into possibly contamination found no health hazards according to "the examiner." more than 10,000 homes are planned for that site. there are concerns about radioactive contamination. the contractor in charge of cleaning up the area has been hit with a lawsuit, and two of its workers were sent to priso l samples. the department of public health retested the hillside and detected no radioactive contamination. the throwback we believe jerseys the oracle are up for auction. you'll have to pay a pretty penny, five figures. the one by steph curry hit over $50,000. draymond green, andre iguodala and klay thompson's jerseys are

a rough weekend for the giants at oracle park getting swept by the yankees. now the dodgers are in town, and we've got a 6:45 -- i have the time wrong, it's a 6:45 first pitch. temperature will be around 60 degrees. by the end of the game increasing clouds, 56 degrees and will be breezy. remember to dress for temperatures just a little bit cooler feeling than that. it's san francisco alumni night. a college football player just drafted into the nfl is recovering from a shooting that killed his teammate. this happened just hours after the new york giants drafted washburn college's defensive back cory ballentine. police say there was a disturbance at a home that led to gunfire. he was wounded. a 23-year-old teammate of his was killed. police say dozens of people were at the home. >> there were people running everywhere, and somebody's down in the middle of the road.

bridge toll plaza looks like the left side, the cash lanes have thinned out. the right side not so much. no metering lights yet. that should happen closer to 5:20. alexis, thank you. in the south bay a woman is asking people to keep an eye out for her stolen dog. take a look. this is a picture of jessica kem's husky. her car was stolen from the driveway of her san jose home. they say she left it running with the dog inside while she ran indoors. when she came back out she saw a man inside of the car. she tried to open one of the doors as he drove away but fell down. police have not located the dog or the car. happening today environmental activists across the globe will be honored in san francisco. six people will receive the goldman environmental prize, the most prestigious award for advocates. one recipient is an activist from washington state. her work safeguarded residents from harmful air pollution and stopped the flow of millions of gallons of crude oil to her state. other winners hail from the cook
