fun when mccormick actually got measles as a child. developing news out of los angeles, an army veteran has been arrested, accused of plotting to bomb a white supremacist rally that was held over the weekend in long beach. investigators say the suspect, 26-year-old mark domingo had been planning an attack since march. prosecutors say domingo was seeking revenge for two mosques that left people dead. they say he had purchased materials and what he thought were bombs from an undercover agent. >> this is a case in which law enforcement was able to identify a man consumed with hate and bent on mass murder and stop him before he could carry out his attack. >> prosecutors say domingo talked about targeting jews, churches and carrying out an attack at the santa monica pier. at this time, prosecutors say he acted alone. twoix uerar,ss shooting at e

singleton was the first african american and the youngest person ever to nominated for best director. larry king is recovering after a heart procedure. the 85-year-old was scheduled to have an angioplasty last week, but he began experiencing chest pains and went to the hospital early to be examined. it's not known when he'll be released, but doctors expect king to make a full recovery. he survived a heart attack in 1987. all right. well, after being off the air for months, we're happy to say our colleague natasha zouves is back this morning. >> she explained her long absence. >> i just want to take a quick moment that i can't tell you how good it is to be back here this morning. it has certainly been a long recovery there is a lot to fill you in on. some of you know several months ago on a random friday, we had just wrapped a newscast when somebody's hairspray can

exploded coating the ground with a sticky substance. some time later i went to recharge my wireless cell phone. even with rubber soled shoes, both my legs went out under me and fell back hitting my head on the shiny concrete. 24 hours later i couldn't handle in lights. i was throwing up and asking the same questions over and over again. at the er i was diagnosed with a serious concussion. now i'm a pretty private person. it is hard to talk about this and describe what this experience was like. i was severely photo phobic, nauseated. i had these splitting headaches, more akin to an ice pick right in your head where all you can do is wait for hours in the dark, praying that it will stop every day. i lost the ability to taste. i lost the ability to smell. i had to move back in with my parents. and in a lot of ways, it felt like i let them down. it's been hard to process. it's certainly been a long road, and a lot of treatment and

training. i have grown a lot, and there are still lessons that i'm extracting from all this. but with the help of time and some really great doctors, i'm so happy to say i am doing so much better. and i really want you to know, i thought about coming back here , you ma know iar my parents watched abc7 when i was a little girl. so this has all of the sudden been so much more than just a job to me. there were days i wondered if i'd ever make it back. so, excuse me, this morning, i am filled with gratitude, and i want to say an enormous deep thank you to you, because i was frankly oemverwhelmed by the volume of posts and emails and messages all saying you were thinking of me, that i was in your family's prayers. so many of you sharing that you're familiar with traumatic brain injury, that your son or daughter has gone through this, your parent or your friend. i didn't know much about tbi before this.

to only about 50. and here is a look at the satellite radar image showing a pesky low-pressure system centered in southern california right now. producing some rain in the los angeles area as well as other parts of southern california. not producing rainfall here, though. so tomorrow we can expect another sunny, mostly sunny and breezy day, especially at the coast. high temperatures will raise from low 60s at the coast to mainly mid and upper 60s along the bay shoreline. inland highs in the low to mid-70s. and i should mention that the pollen forecast shows tree pollen will be high for the entire week. we expect it high all the way through friday. we're talking about pine, oak, juniper, cedar, just about all those pesky trees that produce irritants at this time of year. here we go. here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. mainly sunny skies. all the way through the week. nice warming trend begins midweek with high temperatures climbing into the low 80s inland by friday. mid-70s around the bay. mid-60s on the coast. and then a cooling trend begins on saturday. we get a few extra clouds on sunday. we don't see any rain in sight.

of their used needles right here. now one supervisor in san francisco wants more of these in his district. district 6 is perhaps the most complex neighborhood in san francisco. startup companies south of market and techies share the streets with the more unfortunate members of our society. in the tenderloinre just a few the many harsh realities. >> i wake up every morning and there is still like various crap on the street. >> we deserve the same clean and healthy streets and sidewalks as anywhere else in the city. that right? >> yes! >> supervisor matt heaney leads this district, and today introduced a ten-point action plan to make things more livable for everyone. for one, he wants more garbage cans, more street cleaning, more deep steam cleaning of the sidewalks. he wants more art and beautification measures, more

used needle containers throughout t bins so thatesn'te more of these public toilets called pit stops. the department of public works told me they go for $85,000 each, and the city spends about $200,000 to keep workers on-site during the hours they're open to the public. heaney's goal is to have ten in total. five of them operating 24/7. the money would come from the general fund. the department of public works will spend $72.5 million this year to clean the streets of san francisco. i ask people who work here and live on these streets if they've noticed a difference. >> it definitely looks much cleaner. you don't see a lot of the garbage on the streets anymore. >> yeah, they're a lot cleaner. they are. and i really think that the donation of the portable toilets, that was a gift that the city took and paid attention to when other countries are saying your city is filthy.

>> but public works says changing people's behavior is essential to improving conditions in this district. >> it's not the public works th bathom are throwing down trash, who are dumping out broken bottles and old furniture. it's people who are doing that. >> and i want to leave you with one last thought on human behavior. right now according to public works, the reports of human waste spiked to an all-time high. reports. these are people picking up the phone, contacting the department. so in 2011, there were more than 5,000 calls on human waste. 2011. 2018, 28,000 calls. again, of human waste. heaney says this is a problem that is serious and very urgent. i'm live in san francisco. lyanne melendez, abc7 news. >> all right, lyanne, thank you

bomb a white supremacist rally. they say domingo was seeking revenge for the deadly mosque attacks in new zealand. laura anthony sent out this breaking news just after 11:00 a.m. a jury has been seated in the ghost ship fire trial and opening statements are set for tomorrow. deputy attorney general rod rosenstein has announced his resignation. abc news obtained the letter. his last day on the job is may 11th. houses of worship across the country are increasing security after this weekend's deadly shooting at a synagogue near san diego. this comes as the family of the suspected gunman put out a statement. abc news reporter romina puga is in poway where victims are sharing their stories of survival. >> 19-year-old john earnest, armed with an assault rifle is accused of opening fire at a synagogue near san diego on saturday. one person killed, three others injured, including rabbi yisroel goldstein. >> i was three centimeters away from death, really. >> i ran for open the door is more shoot.

way at midweek. right now we're looking forward to the expansion of fog tonight from the coast across the bay and locally inland overnight lows mainly in the mid- to upper 40s. a few locations it will drop down to 50, 51 degrees. tomorrow look for another mainly sunny breezy day. highs will range from low 60s at the coast to mainly mid and upper 60s around the bay shoreline. we'll see a few locations inland, breaking the 70 degree mark, maybe up to 74 at santa rosa and cloverdale. and it's going to get warmer around midweek. wednesday looking for high temperatures moving into the upper 70s inland. upper 70s to low 80s around the bay. it will be warmer still on thursday. low 80s inland. but as the weekend approaches, we'll see temperatures moderating again. here is the accuweather seven-day forecast. there is your midweek warm-up there, wednesday and thursday. and friday is looking pretty mild as well. but then saturday, sunday, we'll see temperatures dropping back down into a more seasonal range. it remains breezy most of the week. the tree pollen count is quite hgh this week.
