killed a women and wounded her boy friend. here is alex perez. >> reporter: she had a big smile and a bright future. mikaela's life was cut short when the window of her jeep was shattered. >> something came through the windshield. >> the 25-year-old managed to pull over, but died at the scene. she was driving along 218 in waterloo, iowa headed home from a bar where she worked. her boyfriend, adam kimball was also in the car and shot in the face by the same bullet. he is expected to survive. investigators looking at the possibility it may have been an errant shot by someone illegally hunting. she planned to be a dentist and was a former star softball a moment of silence at the team's last home game. authorities are on the hunt for video, asking anyone who might have surveillance video to contact police.
