loud fireworks, and i see everyone running and like screaming. i'm like, oh, this is for real. so many screams, so many things going on like i don't know how i even got out of there barely. >> reporter: this video posted by jordan pearce showing students with their hands in the air fleeing from the campus library. >> someone came over the library intercom and was like there's an active shooter situation. get away from windows and hide, and at that point i was like, oh, my gosh, this is real like this is actually happening, and so i grabbed the girl next to me, and i was like, we need to hide. >> reporter: police officers running in the opposite direction toward the chaos. >> we have a shooter in custody. >> shooter is detained right here. >> reporter: officers quickly arrived on that scene saying they disarmed the suspect before he could reload. this morning authorities identifying him as 22-year-old trystan terrell. and reports say terrell is a former student at the university. no motive is known at this time. attorney general william barr is set to testify on capitol hill today on the heels of an explosive report that he received a direct complaint from robert mueller himself. mueller was frustrated about

barr's characterization of his report that he sent him a letter expressing his concerns. abc's lana zak joins us from washington with those new details. lana, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, janai and kenneth. we also know now that that letter of frustration was followed up by a phone call by special counsel robert mueller to attorney general william barr. mueller wanted barr to release the special counl's findgstoba full exoneration. >> no collusion, no obstruction. >> reporter: but abc news can confirm that those conclusions were not aligned with special counsel robert mueller's findings and that he expressed concerns to the attorney general directly writing, the summary did not fully capture the context, nature and substance of this office's work and conclusions. in the letter first obtained by "the washington post," mueller says that there is now, quote, public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. this threatens to undermine a

central purpose for which the department appointed the special counsel, to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations. attorney general william barr is headed to the capitol today where he will face members of congress, some of whom feel barr deliberately misled them at his last appearance. >> members of the special counsel's team are frustrated. do you know what they're referencing with that? >> no, i don't. >> did bob mueller support your conclusion? >> i don't know whether bob mueller supported my conclusion. >> reporter: senator van hollen now tweeting, we now know mueller stated his concerns on march 27th and that barr totally misled me, the congress and the public. he must resign. on cnn congressman ted lieu says barr needs to be held accountable. >> if he doesn't i'll push for concept proceedings. >> and we've received an advance copy of the attorney general's prepared testimony for today. in it he intends to defend his decisions, and he writes, the department's work on this matter is at its end. i imagine that we will see from democrats today that they feel very differently. kenneth, janai. >> and, lana, we will all be watching those hearings very
