emergency crews on the scene and calling for an ambulance. 880 through san lorenzo down to 21 miles an hour. metering lights on looks like a traffic stop. looking typical. google employees are planning another protest today. >> this sit-in comes exactly six months after the big walkout. reporter amy hollyfield live for us in san francisco. >> reporter: google employees are planning to stick together, rally together. today they have a sit-in planned. this will be different than we saw about six months ago when they walk out and had allowed protests. that was in november.

it was to protest how to handle allegations of sexual misconduct. they say the company did not do enough. some say they've been retaliated against for planning the walkout. the #notokaygoogle. google said they would not comment on today's sit-in. also putting out that employees have several different channels they can use to express concerns. employees will do that with a sit-in and are starting at 11:10 this morning. reporting live in san francisco, amy hollyfield, abc 7 news. amy, thank you. at the live desk i want to show you this. hundreds of workers and allies

are demanding union jobs for people who live in oakland. you see them there marching in, holding signs. workers gathering at two construction sites right now, one on webster street and the other on 13th street. urging developers to hire local residents to avoid gentrification and displacement. they say that union construction jobs put workers on track to the middle class. this rally is expected to move to oakland city hall later in the day. the port of oakland will be impacted while they stage a mayday rally. >> taking aim at the proposed oakland a's ballpark gentry figs areas that provide higher paying union jobs. developing news in the north bay the woman who was hit and killed while walking her dogs in san anselmo has reportedly been

identified, 72-year-old cal lynn allen. 30-year-old james boswell is accused of driving drunk killing allen and one of her dogs on saturday night. he was arrested for felony dui. a neighbor started a petitiono demand officials install a flashing light at the cross walk where allen was hit. the man accused of opening fire inside a southern california synagogue is pleading not guilty. john earnest appeared in court yesterday. investigators say he shot mels of the chabad of poway synagogue killing one and injuring three others. earnest was prepared to kill many people. five loaded ammunition magazines were found in his car. earnest is charged with murder and a hate crime. in the north bay an off leash dog attacked and killed a threatened species of fur seal in a protected beach. >> the seal pup was bitten at north beach and point reyes.

these are examples of the guadalupe fur seal. they were hunted to near extinction in the 1800s. the park service says the dog attacked it in a nesting area where dogs are not allowed. abc 7 news spoke with an expert who tried to save its life. >> most likely she died because the trauma was so extensive to her chest and caused a lot of damage to her lungs. when it's a threatened or endangered species that's even more of a problem because those animals are just trying to recover as a whole. >> the dog owner and dog allegedly left the beach after the attack and the park service is investigating. former first daughter chelsea clinton is in the bay area today. the project she's promoting at one south bay school. new rules at disneyland start today. what is not allowed in the park anymore. and a live look from sutro tower. some of that fog trying to slip out of the north bay and go across the east bay shoreline. the real focus on this forecast is look at how much warmer we're

hi there, welcome back. i want to get you caught up on the latest in venezuela, day two of protests. these are live images coming in from caracas. opposition leader juan guaido is leading an uprising to oust president nicolas maduro from office. it started yesterday morning. today guaido has called for even more mass protests. you can see how many people are out on the street right now. you see them pretty peaceful at this point just walking and i do want to be clear that there are people on both sides, protests for both sides. and new in the last hour we have learned that secretary of state mike pompeo is saying the u.s. is prepared to take military action if need be. he said it in an interview with fox business earlier this morning, but he does also say that he wants a peaceful transition obviously in venezuela. the u.s. and about 50 other

ghostship warehouse fire trial will hear from the attorney representing derick almena. yesterday we heard the prosecutor in the case say victims had no notice, no time, and no exits. abc 7 news was in the oakland courtroom for opening statements. jurors heard emotional 911 calls from the night of the deadly fire that killed 36 people. prosecutors claim as many as 25 people were living in that warehouse illegally. the attorney representing defendant max harris suggested the fire was arson. he told the jury people who wanted to harm co-defendant derick almena intentionally set the fire. in an effort to build a better bay area focusing on safer communities and neighborhoods. >> dangerous side shows are spinning out of control around the bay area, so we're asking what are the solutions? last night in san jose the city council unanimously voted to make it illegal to even attend a sideshow. the ordinance will make it a crime to attend as a spectator. mayor sam liccardo says illegal street racing poses a threat to residents' safety and quality of life.

in the last four years we've lost six young people to illegal street races. that is six too many. it is clear that these are horribly dangerous. were losing too many young lives and we need to do more to be able to crack down. >> spectators could face a $1,000 fine and up to six months in jail. the warriors will head to houston with a 2-0 lead in their series against the rockets. >> steph curry returned to the game after dislocating one of his fingers in the first quarter. the warriors are asking the nba to rescind a technical foul assessed to draymond green. he got tangled with a rockets player when both were issued fouls. if it stands green will have four during the postseason. he's allowed seven before a one-game suspension. the warriors won. >> the series shifts to houston for game three on saturday only on abc 7. the nba countdown begins at 5:00

earlier this year apple blamed the decrease in sales on china's trade dispute with the u.s. they are offering cheaper phones than the iphone. happening today, day two of facebook's annual conference in san jose. >> mark zuckerberg said the company was focusing on privacy. facebook unveiled new features for its family of apps including the one that made the biggest splash, a dating feature called secret crush. it will allow them to crush on a current facebook friend and only be notified if the feeling is mutual. crickets. crickets. facebook is considering hiding the number of likes you get on an instagram photo or video. t.j. holmes talked about that on "gma." >> you wouldn't be able to see how many likes somebody else's post gets. it's a big deal. instagram has turned into a popularity contest. many have said kids have

is the best medicine. what do you want to tell people today you think will come out of that study and amount of money being spent? >> we realize it's a large amount of money and we think of it as an investment, an investment to get to policies that will solve this problem. >> reporter: undergrowing pressure to do something, mayor breed wants a so-called navigation center along the embarcadero. the growing problem compelled marc benioff to lobby for the passage of proposition c last year which imposes a new tax on major corporations in the city to generate roughly $300 million a year. that is being collected not yet spent. so you're pleased and optimistic we'll see a difference once the money is released? >> there's a lot of work to do. this is our number one issue. >> it's not just an academic
