version of robert mueller's report. house democrats may hold william barr in contempt. they have scheduled to vote on it tomorrow. he defied a subpoena last week to provide the full unredacted version of the mueller report. democrats are in talks right now with special counsel to schedule a tentative hearing. tentatively robert mueller is expected to testify on may 15th. that's what they are hoping to negotiate. as expected, though, trump's firing back. the president tweeted yesterday that mueller should not testify and yesterday as well, i should note the treasury secretary refused to turn over the tax returns saying that democrats, quote, the request quote lacks a legit mative legislative purpose. oakland's ghostship warehouse fire. prosecutors say one of the witnesses scheduled to testify this week has died in a car accident. they say he was an unlicensed

contractor who did electrical work in the building. the mother of one of the 36 people killed in the deadly 2016 inferno cried on the stand when prosecutors showed her a picture of her daughter nicole. she confirmed the text read i'm gonna die now. >> just to know she was in there and she couldn't get out. >> reporter: did you know that text was what it was? >> no, i didn't. >> a second witness testified that he tried to get them to make safety upgrades but he just laughed. public transportation is a major issue when it comes to building a better bay area. san francisco's muni light rail struggles with reportability. thain trains were 46% on time. they were late 40% of the time.

late is four or more minutes after schedule. problems with muni's light rail trains have taken out half of the service. thigh are building considering building a housing complex. it's proposed increasing the number of affordable apartments from 44 to 62 units. the city's contribution to the project, if approved, would total $7.8 million. happening today in the east bay, oakland mayor will propose the budget to the city council. the biggest chunk would go towards road repairs. $110. 74 million would go towards children and schools. they will vote before the new

we have a chance both friday and mother's day sunday. not a washout this weekend. >> i want to show you some really incredible video of an overnight building collapse in new york city. take a look at this. a car slammed right into the corner of a business if brooklyn's mid-wood neighborhood, causing the two-story building to collapse. the 20-year-old driver who was behind the wheel of a rental car tried to run away from the scre scene after the collapse. they do think speed is a factor. police say the car slammed deep into the ground floor undermining supports causing that collapse. new york fire department says 100 personnel had to respond to the scene. they were searching for victims in the rubble. there were five people that lived on the 2nd floor. they were luckily not home at the time. >> what a scene. thank you. happening today, the san francisco board of supervisors

expected to voted on a new bill that would ban cashless brick and mortar stores. it exempts, food trucks and pop ups. cashless merchants discriminate against the poor by requiring credit or a debit card for purchases that many lowing in residents can't afford or can't get. in the east bay, building a better area includes helping ferrell felines, they are helping the community cats in pitsburg. the couple have set up destinations to feed the cats and work with the city to trap, vaccinate and spay or neuter them. >> we want to give back. this is a way to do that. we hope to educate the residents as to the benefits of spaying and neutering community cats and their pets. >> it's creating an awareness

for the communities of things we can do to help the cats in our community in a managed way. >> 125 cats have been trapped and returned in the past year. the awareness may help get some of them adepted. we don't know a name but we know when we may get a glimpse of prince harry and the duchess' newborn son. >> he says they are trying to make an appearance by tomorrow no, rush. athat picked the favorite three, arthur, albert and philip. some are saying they are considering spencer, which is princess diana's maiden name. >> reporter: as this sun sets in windsor, the royal couple spending their first fight together with their new baby boy, the duchess of sussex went into labor early in the morning afternoon. few hours later, buckingham palace announced megan safely

fremont, palo alto, mid- to upper-60s around the bay. 60 to 62 along the coast into san francisco. tonight the cloud come back for most of us. the south bay may see a little less. antioch, discovery, a little drizzle near the coast and mild once again, low- to mid-50s. let's jump ahead to thursday. we will broaden it out. because the high country is going to get a better chance of wet weather out of this storm than us. you can see as we head into the afternoon to evening hours thursday, we have a chance of showers across the north bay. as we head into the overnight hours, showers will continue. there could be a slick commute. there is one more chance in the evening hours of a smaller, more renegade shower or two. once we get past that, we've got some 60s at the coast and low-to-upper 70s for mother's day weekend and even in the 80s starting to pop up monday.
