road. so now they're not just out their equipment for the game, they're out their school stuff to complete their finals. >> reporter: the university's athletic director estimates between 5 wood,000 to $10,000 in equipment and belongings were boosted. the team is scrambling to replace passports. >> to one got hurt. this could be so much hurt. these are things that are replaceable, and we'll work on what we can do to replace it. >> reporter: police say they are investigating the theft. they've explained the process will take some time because of the number of victims. >> it's horribly distressing. it's horrible and sad. these girls have worked so hard. >> reporter: an employee at a business says their car was also targeted that same night in the same lot. the university of hawaii, they are sending someone out with caps and suits for the team ahead of friday's game. in palo alto, i'm amanda del

castillo, "abc7 news." >> amanda, thank you. in the south bay, a man has life threatening injuries after a triple shooting. two other victims were also taken to the hospital. the shooting happened just after 1:30 this afternoon inside a cafe on center road, south of tully road. police are still investigating what led up to the shooting. no one has been arrested. in the east bay, mold, dry rot, and mildew are overtaking an apartment complex. some renters say it's making them sick. tomorrow, the city will investigate. our reporter got a firsthand look at the problems. >> that's mold, mildew, t. >>eporer miller has lived with this stuff for years, and he's angry. >> i call him a slum lord and deserves for in jail. >> reporter: brian mooar is the land lord.

he's already been cited for having mold and missing smoke detectors. miller blames his breathing problems on the mold. so does his mother. >> it's itching my head, too. my nose runs, my eyes from the mold. i can't breathe. >> reporter: tomorrow, city building inspectors, the management company and tenant also meet to discuss all the problems in the complex. even the mayor's office knows about them. the mayor's chief of staff said, what mr. miller has told us and shown us is very serious and concerning. issu hav been found and the's active follow-up. i propertyhe did d, however, send this letter to the millers asking them to vacate while theys. a tyt tos just co it over with. >> reporter: this woman also lives in the complex. she has mold, too. >> it's in the bathroom.

so like this, if you lift the curtains up, you have it on the corners. >> reporter: tenants on average pay $1700 a month in rent. in the north bay, a family who lost their home in the tubbs fire is now worried their contractor will never finish rebuilding their house, and they're not the only ones worried about this. kate larson has the story. >> be careful. >> reporter: the davis family should be standing in their newly finished home. but instead, 16 months after signing a contract, they're still waiting for walls and flooring, even though many of their neighbors who also lost homes are nearly done rebuilding. >> i only had seven minutes to grab my then 6-month-old and 3-year-old. as we were driving off, there were flames everywhere. so when someone comes in and telling us, we'll build your home, anything. we want a new home, that's all

we want. >> reporter: they have already paid the construction company $134,000 of insurance money but say they're demanding more money to continue construction. on top of that, they received notice of five liens against their property. totalling $42,000 from subcontractors and supplier twh two have not been paid. what is i'm hearing is outrage and desperation from 40 plus families in my correct. >> reporter: james is a county supervisor and has forwarded the complaints to the consumer fraud division at the d.a.'s office. >> we need to make sure everything knows it doesn't matter which builder there is, you have to reach out to us if you need help so you can be confident that if you sign your name, something will be done. >> reporter: the company has not responded to abc 7's request for comment. kate larson, "abc7 news." fbi agents joined san ramone
