call this morning saying his building was on fire. he was told someone was setting fires around the city including a car. the owner says police were able to capture a speck but only after a high speed chase. we're still trying to confirm all of the information with dublin police department. as for the printing business, again, another live look. the owner tells us the fire burned the side of the building there and there is water damage. he will open once the power gets turned back on this morning. back to you. >> jessica, thank you. happening today both suspects in the denver school shooting are back in court. >> we're also hearing from one of the hero students shot and wounded while helping to stop one of the gunmen. prosecutors are expected to file charges in the attack that killed a student and wounded eight more. 18-year-old devon erickson, who you can see there, as well as 16-year-old maya mckinney are accused of opening fire at the highlands ranch on tuesday. rep

the school of, quote, another columbine because of bullying and high pressure months before the attack. joshua jones, one of the three students who helped take down one of the gunmen spoke today on "gma." >> i saw the gunman come into the room, brandishing a weapon, saying nobody move. i saw kendrick and brendan get up and i was right there with them. it was confusing. you never expect that to happen. >> investigators believe the guns used were take friend a locked cabinet in one of their parents' homes. the fbi is working on a threat in san ramon. the threat at california high was spelled out in graffiti. 80% of students stayed home yesterday. the district says the school has received five threats just this school year. one was found on the football field, at least two others found inside bathrooms.

pittsburg police are trying to find a motive after a woman was shot at a home on warren way. she was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition. arrested suspects in bay point. the city of richmond will meet with tenants and building management to investigate reports of mold, dry rot and mildew. >> it is overtaking this apartment complex. abc 7 news got a firsthand look at the complex on san pablo avenue. the city of richmond's building code enforcement has cited that landlord for having mold, dampness in rooms and missing smoke detectors. >> i can't breathe. the lungs, coughing in the middle of the night. >> cough and itch. my nose runs, my eyes. >> they have contacted the millers asking them to vacate

while they make repairs. in the north bay families who lost homes in the tubbs fire are worried their new houses will never be built. the davis family accepted an offer from chiarmonte construction but the work is incomplete. they've put in $134,000. thedavises say the company wants more money. meantime subcontractors have placed liens against their house saying that they have yet to be paid by chiaramonte. >> only had seven minutes to grab my then 6-month-old and 3-year-old. there were flames everywhere. when someone comes in and telling us we'll build your home, that's all we want. >> who can blame her? sonoma county received complaints from more than 40 families about chiarmonte. 6:04. uber is gearing up to go public today. it will trade on the new york

welcome back. new this morning lewis farrakhan, a well-known leader of the nation of islam, defending himself. he spoke at a catholic church last night about being banned on facebook and denied he hates jewish people. he spoke at a controversial church on chicago's south side. he said he doesn't preach hate tread but spoke about satanic jews. he spoke about being in, quote, facebook jail. the church was crowded to hear him speak. we should note that the southern poverty law center that monitors hate groups across the united states describes nation of islam as a black nationalist group. he comments on everything about the facebook ban and what he's say something trending online this morning. back to you. new developments after the

notre dame cathedral fire. paris police are warning of dangerously high levels of lead in the area surrounding the cathedral. 32 to 65 times higher than the rekd limit. the areas closest to the cathedral are still closed but lead dust could have spread for blocks. hundreds of tons of lead were used to build notre dame including the church spire that burned and collapsed. a recall has been issued for an unstable dresser after a child was killed. the three drawer chest by south shore furniture poses serious risk to small children if not properly anchored to a wall. a 2-year-old child was killed after an empty set toppled over. another child was injured. 310,000 of these were sold in the u.s. owners can receive a full refund or get a free restraint kit with free installation. not many things are free when you fly anymore. delta is going to start testing free wi-fi. according to delta's website

there will be free wi-fi on only 55 flights a day starting monday. the pilot program will run for two weeks. passengers will not be able to stream anything but you'll be able to do just about everything else. delta will use customer and employee feedback to decide how to move forward. in the east bay pittsburg high school students have been discovered a fen om unanimous. >> we're talking about twins. not one or two sets but more than a dozen all in this year's graduating class. and most of them didn't realize there were so many until just recently. >> the crazy part about it is i've had classes with more than one set of twins but i've never put two and two together. >> statistically for every 200 people there should be three sets of twins. based on the class size that would mean three sets. this year there are 15. 15 sets of twins! now preparing to leave for college. many of them will be apart for the very first time. >> what are you going to miss

inside. good morning on this friday, may 10th. it is 6:30. you're never more than seven minutes away from the accuweather forecast. good morning. if you're looking for sunshine and warmth, i'm your guy. winds are only 6 miles an hour at fairfield and that's a lighter sea breeze. it's going to go away much quicker today. beautiful shot from mt. tamalpais this morning and talk about temperatures, we're waking up the same, gray with low to upper 50s. at noon temperatures are at yesterday's highs and we still have several hours of warming to go which will push us into the mid-70s to near 80 in some east bay valleys. 60 at the coast. hope you have a good friday. hold on for your commute. here is alexis. two new issues to talk about. one of them isn't new. a crash that happened around 2:30 this morning. everything was off on the shoulder. now it looks like it's causing a delay because a lot of folks slowing down to take a look at

this off on the side. before sunol boulevard, a semicrashed this morning. i believe they're still trying to remove everything there. we have guardrail that was damaged. again, i don't think any lanes are blocked but everyone is taking their time getting by to look at the scene causing about a ten-minute delay, maybe even 15 minutes from 580. westbound 24 getting reports of a new two-car crash. one or two of the middle lanes is blocked now but both people are out of the vehicle exchanging some info waiting for crews to get there. hopefully everyone is okay. another traffic update in about ten minutes. and i have an update on our breaking news that we've been tracking in the east bay throughout the morning. we're now hearing from the man who owns this warehouse that was set on fire overnight, and here is a live look from sierra court in dublin. this is just outside of a printing company. what you're looking at on the ground is the burned recycling material set on fire overnight.

the owner of the business is telling abc 7 news he received a call around 1:30 this morning saying his building was on fire and someone was setting fires around the city including a car. take a listen. >> an employer was here shows up at 1:30 and he noticed the car fire next door. i came around the other side and noticed that there was -- our building was actually on fire as well. >> wow. can you imagine getting that phone call in of the night? without his employee the building would have probably burned down. the owner says police were able to capture a suspect but only after a high-speed chase. we're still trying to confirm that part with dublin pd. as for the printing business the owner says, as you see, it burned part of the side of the building as well as all that debris on the ground and there is some water damage, but he says he is going to open as soon as the power gets back up and running. back to you. all right. thanks, jessica.

wall street and hundreds of uber employees are waiting anxiously for uber stock to begin trading this morning. >> the company launching an ipo which will make uber worth more than $70 billion. we just had heard that last ding of the opening bell. jobina fortson live for us in san francisco with all the details. good morning, jobina. >> reporter: good morning. loads of uber employees started funneling into this building behind me shortly after 5:00 a.m. they're all inside celebrating right now while other companies expected to go public this year like airbnb and post mates are watching closely to see how this will all shake out. we know uber's rival, lyft, did not have the best stock performance following its ipo. in march uber raised $8.1 billion in its initial public offering. they played up its plans to expand in other transportation businesses like autonomous driving and scooters. this ipo has been met with some

resistance. uber drivers were here protesting wednesday outside of the main headquarters claiming the ride hailing service has continued to cut the pay of drivers often leaving them earning less than minimum wage while some executives and investors became millionaires. form earp ceo travis kalanick is reportedly walking away from this ipo with $5 billion. now we know the shares with at $42 a pop. that total valuation of the company there is sitting at $82 billion. guys? >> jobina, thank you for that. quick question for you, what happens for riders now that uber is a public company? >> reporter: well, market watch had an interesting piece on this. their report is claiming that in the long term uber and lyft both need to find a way to turn a profit here. they believe that getting rid of the drivers is the route they will take, but in the short term, that means higher cost for the rides, for the riders in the near future. >> all right, jobina, thank you. on the peninsula the

university of hawaii women's water polo team is in town to play cal in the ncaa quarterfinals this afternoon happening at stanford. their stay so far has not really been in the aloha spirit. two vans in a parking lot were broken into wednesday night. crooks took their equipment, their cameras, and their passports. the auto burglary happened when the team was having dinner at wahlburgers blocks away. the university's athletic director estimates between $5,000 and $10,000 of equipment and belongings were boosted from the vans. he says the team now has to worry about scrambling to replace passports. >> the good thing is no one got hrt this could be so much worse. these are things that are replaceable and we'll work on what we can do to replace it. >> someone from the university of hawaii is now having to fly in to replace the team caps and swimsuits ahead of this afternoon's match. in the east bay two people

are rekofrpg after being shot on interstate 580. they were driving eastbound near 164th avenue in san leandro when someone fired shots from a passing car yesterday. chp closed the freeway for a few hours to search for evidence. the two victims were taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. investigators are trying to figure out what led up to the gunfire. and in the south bay a man has life threatening injuries after triple shooting in san jose. were also taken to the hospital with at least one gunshot wound each. it happened on center and tully roads. police are still investigating what happened before that shooting and no one has been arrested. repair work on the sales force transit center in san francisco is finished, but you still can't get to it yet. workers to reinforce cracked support beams. transit leaders will wait for the work to be expected before announcing a reopening date. it could happen next month. in the meantime contractors

will be reinstalling lighting panels. the transit hub was only open for six weeks before it had to close in august. the warriors are in houston for tonight's game six against the rockets, but kevin durantit recovering from a mild calf strain. he got hurt after a jump shot game five wednesday night. the initial fair was a torn achilles tendon. the team says he will be evaluated in a week and strains like this usually take about one to two weeks to heal. if the warriors lose tonight they will be returning to oracle arena for game seven which you could watch here on abc 7. it's happened again for a second straight day bay area firefighters were called into action to rescue a fawn that had fallen into a storm drain. kent field fire in marin county post this had fed this photo. the baby is now back with mom. remember, we just told you yesterday about a rookie firefighter who pulled a fawn to safety after it had fallen into a storm drain in pacifica. look at that.

right now as they open up this morning and you can see the dow is down. markets have been reacting all week to an escalating trade war between the u.s. and china. overnight the things got even more heated between the two countries. more than double what they were yesterday, those tariffs were 10% yesterday. they are 25% this morning. and that means that you will pay more for electronics, clothing, and toys made from china. in fact, it affects about $200 billion of chinese goods. that is why this hike happened and the talks between the two sides will resume in washington later this morning, but the chinese government, they promised to hit back after these tariff hikes. and president trump has been tweeting all morning. i want to show you on my computer what he said. this was the last one ep twehe d

on tuesday the city of mountain view voted to lease land from the vta to build affordable housing. it will take about two years to get that project up and going so in the short term they plan to use the lot for safe parking. people can park there from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the city would set up amenities like portapotties and those who park have to register with the city and work with a case worktory find permanent housing. across the street some businesses aren't into it. >> it would be too big of a task. >> the plan is still months from being finalized. the mayor says the city will allow up to 20 vehicles to park there. is there a safe parking site where you live? should there be? you can share your experience by sharing our better bay area facebook group. in the east bay labor leaders will talk about why they're supporting the a's proposed stadium at observing's howard terminal. the labor counsel says it will create 2,000 construction jobs.
