let's start with the first look at the accuweather forecast and here's lisa argen with the forecast. >> hi, chris. we do have quite a bit of fog out there. just locally inland now. concord and livermore, otherwise we'll see the fog pull back to the shoreline and partial clearing is 52 rid now. in novato, good morning to you, 57 in oakland and looking at upper 50s and partial clearing at the coast with low to mid-60s and look at the temperatures climb as we get through the noon hour and into the upper 60s inland and 67 around the bay and by 4:00 that fog makes its way

back inland and still mild and by 7:00 that sun setting in an another hour. 8:03 and look for temperatures dropping off into the 60s. it will be a nice afternoon and a look at low clouds and fog and you can see them pushing back by the coast around midday and we'll talk about your weekend coming up. lisa, thank you. >> there's a lot of buzz in the bay area surrounding two presidential candidates. mayor pete buttigieg hosted a fund-raiser and we sat down with kamala harris for an exclusive one-on-one interview. last night forete' fund-raiser were $25 and they sold out. abc news reporter cornel bernard there was as he spoke to the packed crowd. >> please help me welcome the next president of the united

in richmond is promising to fix the units after tenants complained about big issues. jerry miller has lived in this apartment on san pablo avenue for three years. miller said he and his neighbors have complained to the landlord castle management about mold, water leaks, roaches and no heating without results. >> we're helpless and we live here and a lot of us live here because we didn't have other options. >> it went in my nose and my eye, everywhere, in my lungs. >> miller met with the richmond building department and castle management at city hall yesterday. the landlord promised to fix the apartments. castle management told abc 7 news it did not delay on taking action. part of building a better bay area involves finding solutions to some of the area's biggest problems and this morning we're talking about housing and exploring a growing trend putting housing units in bay area backyards. abc 7 news reporter amanda del

castillo has the story from san jose. >> reporter: crews broke ground on paul's adu in january. the granny flat is growing in popularity around the bay area. >> i've never been a trendsetter until now. >> we checked with the city of san jose and it took season applications to build adus in 2016. new laws have made it easier and less expensive to build unit. so in 2018 the number of applications in san jose skyrocketed. they built a one-bedroom unit to keep their daughter and son-in-law close. >> in other places they'd probably well enough off that they can afford to buy a well, they can't, here in the valley. a recent report ranks the san jose metro as the most expensive area in the country to buy the home. >> keeping the families together piece of it seems to be a really big part of this. >> all part of the answer to the

to a slight change in the weekend. lisa argen, good morning to you. >> good morning. you have to get away from the shoreline to enjoy the warmup. partial clearing and the sea breeze up to 20 miles an hour. the fog has moved into our east bay and we're looking at cloudy skies in concord. livermore, not quite yet, but temperatures are on the mild side. >> good morning, san leandro, 53 for you and 57 in union city and elsewhere, numbers are pretty mild with mid-40s and 50s and 52 on the coast. so if we look from the exploratorium camera this morning and mainly sunny and mild for mother's day weekend. we could see a few showers by the end of next week and the fog quickly burns back to the coast. here we are at 10:00 in the morning. we still have a cloudy coast, but the bay is sunny and by 2:00

women's products. >> there is a thing known as the pink tax where women pay more for goods and services. >> have you heard of this? >> i have heard of that, yeah. we as women do pay more for dry-cleaning and other things, so -- that's what i know for a fact. >> even if they haven't heard the term pink tax. women know they pay more. >> on feminine products, clothing, dry-cleaning and things like that. >> a study found women pay more from cradle to cane. women pay approximately 7% more than men for similar products. this does not surprise congresswoman jackie speier. >> objects that are pink in color are priced higher than objec objects than are blue in color and it starts at a very young age. >> i looked for examples in the bay area going from store to store and searching online, as

well. generally, i found items like these razors, pink and blue priced the same, same with these pink and blue playground balls. but i did find some examples of what seemed like a gender difference in pricing. on overstock.com i found these kids' battery-powered motorcycle. the pink version cost $6 more than than the red one. i reached out and haven't heard way. we have exchanged e-mails, but i do not have a comment on the pricing. jackie speier just re-introduced the pink tax repeal act. >> this would provide that the federal trade commission would have the authority to fine companies that do make that kind of discriminatory pricing. >> the bill would also give state attorneys general the authority to take civil action. i'm michael finney, 7 on your side. >> the city of oakland will

>> this is abc 7 mornings. >> it's great to have you with us. i'm chris nguyen. we start this half hour with the preview of the accuweather forecast. here's lisa argen and has the latest conditions where you live. >> hi, chris. you can see the deck of low clouds here and we are starting out with mainly cloudy conditions and temperatures are in the mid-50s and 58 in mountain view and from mount tam you can see the marine layer and cloudy skies for you in the north bay, as well and 53 in santa rosa, and 57 in concord and livermore, 51 and just about to reach you and from lake tahoe, it is 28 degrees in truckee and 30, and a high of 69 today and for the bay area, we're looking for the clouds to clear the coast and partial clearing and it will stay cool

and around noon time, upper 60s and looking to mid to upper 60s around the bay and mid-70s by 4:00 inland and lower 70s around the bay. nice day, warm up by two inland and we'll talk aboutt in a few >>himorning, the search continues for a missing 4-year-old from houston. a spokesperson for the mother of maleah davis is now accusing the stretch father of abuse. this comes as we get a new look of surveillance photos of him. >> reporter: a spokesman for the mother of missing 4-year-old maleah davis making chilling new allegations upon claiming maleah's stepfather was fi physically abusive of the child. >> sources say this image from a surveillance camera shows maleah's stepfather leaving home on friday with a laundry basket carrying the plastic bag. the next night he's seen walking

into a hospital after claiming he woke up on the side of the road. he was driving with maleah and her brother and one of them drove up in a pickup truck. >> one of them makes a comment saying maleah looks very nice and very sweet. he was beaten and his story changed several times. his car found abandoned. maleah was removed from the home after a head injury last summer and returned in february. child services say the family was being monitored. maleah's mother pressed on why she is only now sharing these allegations. >> this mother has suffered a lot of abuse in her life. >> police have not commented on those allegations. the search for maleah is a race against time. she requires constant medical care after multiple brain surgeries for that head injury. abc news, new york. a murder suspect and a female driver are in custody after leading l.a. police on a

wild chase. watch as the suspect leans out the passenger window and fires at a dozen trailing patrol cars. multiple officers returned fire. the woman that was driving eventually surrendered and police took the murder suspect into custody after a brief standoff. that man was wanted in the deadly shooting of a liquor store clerk earlier this week. president trump's tax returns dating back six years. treasury secretary steven mnuchin and the irs commissioner were told to deliver the documents by friday. mnuchin said he would not provide the president's tax records because the request lacks a legitimate legislative purpose. >> he pulled the trigger on 25% tariffs for thousands of chinese products. the tariffs impact nearly 6,000 chinese products from food items to consumer goods and electronics. president trump says the tax may or may not be removed depending
