our noontime tempemid-s around cool at the coast but the fog will be moving back into the bay overnight tonight and today, one of the warm eer days as we set for a cooling trend and even possible showers. >> lisa, thank you. the 3-year-old girl at the center of an amber alert has been found safe. police say she was taken during a carjacking in the east bay. this is new video of the car police said the girl was in when it was stolen in oakland just after 8:00 last night. it's her father's car. she was reportedly sitting in the back seat. this is -- this new video shows the car crashed into a bus stop in el cerrito. police first announced they recovered the car and took a suspect into custody but intey .

woman is calling for justice for her murdered son. lynette gibson mcileany was gathered to mourn victims of gun violence. her son victor was shot and killed durg near ufc two months ago. the 21-year-old was a music student at the university. no one has been arrested for his murder. on the peninsula, homeland security agents say they discovered illegal assault rifles inside a man's home. he now faces several charges including possession of illegal firearms and manufacture of illegal weapons. belmont police and federal officers raided his home on thursday and say they found these weapons. he was booked into san mateo county jail. the red cross is helping a dozen people find a new place to live after a fire in berkeley. residents had to evacuate while firefighters worked to get the flames under control. here's abc 7 news reporter cornell barnard.

to be the end. it was supposed to destroy us. in the immediate aftermath what all we suffered became part of our shared experience and we're not richer for it but we are stronger for it. >> reporter: sadly, 18 years later, the death toll continues to rise. first responders, firefighters, police officers, anyone who worked for weeks or months at ground zero now sick and too often dying. this as the victims' compensation fund to help them is now running out of money. >> we've buried more people post 9/11 from diseases, police, fbi, firefighters. we owe them a debt that we still have to continue to pay. >> reporter: the ball for boosting funding is now in the hands of congress. bill ritter, abc 7 news. fall and rise, the story of 9/11 is available now at bookstores and online. in the east bay, b.a.r.t. passengers will need to take a shuttle bus between the concord

and pleasant hill stations today. crews are replacing that stretch of nearly 50-year-old track. b.a.r.t.'s maintenance team will be replacing rail, electrical and train control equipment and a drainage system. the trackway will also be closed memorial day weekend and the second weekend in june. demand for new houses is dropping in the bay area. anywhere else in the country, that might mean lower prices and a buyer's market. but here, prices are already so high, it's turning into a lose/lose proposition for everyone involved. abc 7 news anchor eric thomas has the story. >> reporter: the biggest change in the local real estate market is in the south bay. last year this time, houses were moving fast and getting multiple bids. now, not so much. >> it's not that people are trying to sell more homes. rather it's that people are having a harder time selling those homes and more of last week's listings left over for next week. >> reporter: isse roman is a chief economist for trulia. they have a new report on home sale trends across the country and once again, the bay area

leads the nation in the things that make purchases tough. >> there's a limited number of people who can afford housing at current prices and who have the need to move at a given point in time. >> reporter: the trulia report shows inventory up more than 55% over the year before. that means more houses on the market longer. it's even worse for so-called starter home inventory up more than 78% from 2018. the median price for a starter home in san jose is $759,000.,00 gonzalez of the santa clara association of realtors says things may be slowing, but -- >> i guess that's all relative. properties used to sell in a week and so maybe they're taking two to three weeks to sell now. >> reporter: mixed news in another new report from redfin which says that 22% of south bay listings got multiple bids last month. but that's down from 75% last year. and it my may indicate buyer fatigue. >> if what you mean is prices being high enough that most of them just can't do it right now and they're figuring out

lu expect this respite to last very long. almost everyone predicts economic growth will heat the market up again later this year. in san francisco, eric thomas, abc 7 news. in the east bay, 15 sets of twins are getting ready to graduate from pittsburg high school. it's a phenomenon that was only recently discovered. pittsburg high school, home of the pirates, where this year, as any, graduating seniors have begun pondering a new set of challenges. that's especially true for mccaleb and miles grant. they're twins with all the closeness that implies and they're heading for separate colleges. >> what are you going to miss about her? >> our times together. we laugh at almost everything. >> i think we're ready. it's going to be hard but i think we're ready. >> reporter: at least they're not alone in this dilemma. the senior class his other twins. nick and victor mon tez. if that sounds unusual, keep

have said to you having finally done it? >> she was shy. maybe she'd be proud, shocked but they're celebrate with me. when i was 10, i was severely burned in a fire. a huge ball of flame just went through the house. i was completely on fire. i was 10. all of a sudden, i really thought i looked like a monster. i remember watching the miss america pageant for the first time and looked down at my scars and said, well, that's never going to happen for me. we were looking through photo albums at my dad's house. my daughter comes in and grabs a random album. look at this one. and then she jets out of the room. it had me dressed as miss america before the fire. i thought this is interesting because i hadn't seen that picture for a long time. and that dream was just starting to build back up in me. and it just validated the fact that, yeah, you know what? i am beautiful and i'm proud of who i am. i'm proud of what i see in the mirror and why can't i put myself in a pageant.

it was a mistake. >> reporter: and it was. not only did he not cross that bridge. he didn't even own the car on the citation. >> i looked closer. it wasn't my license plate or my car. they said dmv has to fix this. >> reporter: david took time off work and went to the dmv. >> i stood in line for an hour and they said it's not your car. but they wouldn't give him a document to prove it. we can't give any information on this vehicle. i said i'm not asking information on the person. >> reporter: they said only fast track could dismiss it. >> i have this ticket to a car that's not mine. they wouldn't budge on it. they turned a deaf ear and sent me off to dmv. they were just bouncing me back and forth. >> reporter: he spent so many hours on this he thought maybe he should just pay the darn thing. i didn't want to pay it because i might get another one. >> reporter: he contacted 7 on your side and we found out why david got somebody else's ticket. turns out david and another person had each purchased a car

the same week from ford of walnut creek. they both put fast track toll tags on their new cars. david crossed the bay bridge. the other guy crossed the san mateo bridge but both cars were still registered to the ford dealership. so they weren't covered yet by those fast track accounts and they both got tickets. the dealership sent the tickets to fast track and, by mistake, fast track sent them both to david. >> and it got solved. >> reporter: after we pointed out the mistake, fast track dismissed david's tickieticket. >> my heroes came >> reporter: just putting a toll tag in a car doesn't mean it will cover the toll. it will be connected to a fast track. otherwise the car will cross without paying and could get you a big ticket. i'm michael finney. kitten season is here and the east bay spca is looking for help taking care of little ones. today they'll be teaching foster

is raised on everything. >> reporter: this is all part of the new tariffs imposed on china. the trump administration renewing the trade war with china after negotiations ended without a deal friday. >> president xi is a friend of mine. great guy, but he's for china. i'm for the usa. >> going to cost more for goods which are imported from asia, particularly electronic goods. it's not going to be good for american consumers. >> reporter: the administration added 25% tariffs on 6,000 goods from this is eected to push prices i. and store owners expect luxury electronics like expensive computer parts to be the first things consumers cut back on once the tariffs fully kick in. lisa amin gulezian. coming up on "this week," house intelligence committee chairman adam schiff and foreign relations committee member rand paul will talk about the battle between the white house and congress over investigations.

meteor streaking across the sky friday night. the homeowner says he looked outside just as it was happening after reading a tweet about the meteor. southwest will soon be flying to a fifth airport in hawaii. flights to hilo are expected to begin by the end of the year but the airline has not said when you can start booking tickets just yet. southwest airlines started flying to hawaii two months ago. there was a lot of fanfare. some flights and fares sold out within hours. lisa argen, you have been keeping an eye on the forecast for us. we saw in that shot of the financial district some fog, especially over the salesforce tower. >> it's made its way to the east bay. so it's with us for the gray start this morning. but mother's day looking fantastic out there with a lot of sunshine. and you can see the flag blowing there. we'll have winds up to 20 miles an hour. typical day around here. but it gets atypical as we go through the middle of the week and certainly the end of the week. so enjoy what we're going to call warmth today.

good morning. time is 5:43. we're taking a live look outside from our golden gate bridge camera. we hope your sunday is off to a great start. meteorologist lisa argen will be back with the full accuweather forecast in just a little bit. nba hall of famer dennis rodman is caught on surveillance tape with a group accused of theft. it happened at a yoga studio in newport beach. the recording shows one woman with rodman putting merchandise in her purse. another man dropped and broke a crystal on display, then took what was left of it. staff said the damage is estimated around $4,000. the group returned the next day. the yoga studio was closed so they hung out at a spa next door. >> they were loud and kind of agitated and just seeming a bi.

getting a check of the bay area forecast with meteorologist lisa argen. >> hey, chris. today will be the warmest day of the week. if you like it warm and sunny, head inland. each and every day after today we'll experience a cooling trend and several chances of showers. take a look at a pretty gray emeryville. we'll replace that with a lot of sun for your mother's day. but have you been sneezing and itching? the culprit, the trees, things as you know are really blooming. we've got not only the high content with the trees. the olive, oak and pine allergens but also the grass pollens are medium. it's the trees if it's got you itching and it's going to be that way for a little while. we will get some rain, perhaps some relief. but do you really want rain by the end of the week? we'll call it unsettled because we'll not see several days of rain but several chances as we get towards wednesday. here's a live look from here in san francisco where we have that
