security quickly pummels the man, escorting him away. the 71-year-old says he's doing okay and even joked he's happy the attacker did not interrupt his snapchat sessions. >> a man was shot dead this morning. it happened just after 5:30 at turk and frankly streets. officers responded and found the victim on the sidewalk. he was pronounced dead at the scene. police motive for the killing. a golf course could be disappearing for a development. the owners of this golf course have made it clear that golf is not in the future. they want to restore the creek and build around it. one of the directors of the non-profit says we're a conservation organization not golf course managers. the golf course was purchased last year by trust for public lands. tuition is going up for some

university of california students. they've approved a hike of $762 for out of state students starting with the next school year. this is already on top of another increase of around $1,000. this means that students who are from out of state will pay more than $42,000 a year, that is three times what california natives pay. the increase will generate about $26 million for the uc system. san jose state says an auditor is reviewing athletic donations. there's allegations that they were used to pay bonuses and other perks. only a small portion of the lap, a potential mass shooting at an oregon high school is stopped by a former 49ers assistant coach. hear from students who witnessed a gunman get taken down.

doppler 7. we're continuing to track the rain into the evening as we get closer to one of san francisco's most famous outdoor runs. parents complain their kids play too much fortnite. but today they played for a worthy cause. >> they tested their skills in a day-long tournament. the fund raiser was organized by three families, each of whom who has had a child with cancer. >> so when kids are diagnosed with this cancer, they usually have the cancer in their arms and legs and they can't play the sports that they used to play before they were diagnosed. video games are a way they can connect with their friends. >> they hope it will call attention to the cancer.
