marched in alabama and missouri in protest of recent measures passed in both states. here are the details from washington. >> reporter: good morning, the new laws set up a legal fight likely to go all the way to the supreme court to challenge landmark ruling in roe v. wade. hundreds marching to the alabama state capitol. and thousands more in kansas city, missouri. protesting strict anti-abortion measures passed in both states which criminalizes the procedure for doctors and makes no exceptions for rape or incest. alabama and missouri are part of a wave of conservative states aiming to challenge roe v. wade this year alone four other states passed heart beat bills. some prominent pro-life republicans are distancing themselves from the new state laws. >> you're seeing laws on both sides in the extreme.

i don't support the alabama law. >> reporter: president trump also weighing in tweeting he is strongly pro-life with three exceptions for, quote, rape, incest and protecting the life of the mother. as soon as this week we could learn the supreme court will hear challenges to earlier abortion restriction laws in indiana and louisiana. a memorial will take place in washington, d.c., this morning for ellen tauscher. she died last month following a battle with cancer. she represented parts of contra costa and alameda for 13 years. she served in the state department during president obama's administration. former secretary of state hillary clinton and senior senator dianne feinstein will deliver eulogies for tauscher. the latest on the push for a free muni. another proposal has emerged to eliminate fares and the suggestion comes to the impact of services like uber and lyft. city leaders and community

other than evening showers and it kind of being cold out for this time of the year, your commute will be pretty good today. take a look at neighborhoods, the north bay still in the 40s at 7:00. still in the 50s at 11:00. mid-60s this afternoon. down to 57 but still dry at 7:00. not much longer after that. the east bay, we're stuck in the 50s and a lot of cloud cover up until 11:00. look at the sunshine in the afternoon hours and that will struggle into the low 60s. we're down to 57, also, at 7:00. our last stop will be san francisco. in and out of the clouds through 11:00. a couple hours of sunshine will push us into the upper 50s and then the clouds start gathering late into the evening hours. once we get past sunset at about 8:15, another chance of wet weather comes back into the forecast. i'll have that coming up. it was kind of nice to drive on dry pavement for the most part this morning. >> mine was totally dry. hopefull that as well. we do have a new crash to talk about in the south bay. not sure what cause this had one. someone was driving southbound

let's take a look at what's going on from the east bay hills camera. the tree pollen's high. weed pollen low. grass and mold, moderate. oak, olive and pine, if that's your allergen, this is not your week. here is a look at what's going on with temperatures around the state. it doesn't look like summer whatsoever except for palm springs, 81. mid to upper 60s with scattered showers around san diego, los angeles. showers, even snow showers at midnight through 8:00 tomorrow. another winter weather advisory for up to 10 inches of snow in the sierra. friday, saturday and sunday, we'll be looking at thunderstorms and windy conditions and temperatures well below average in the 50s. >> i spoke we should be grateful that we are not in some parts of the u.s. that can expect another round of really dangerous storms. thunderstorms are expected to hit the midwest and the northeast. at least 38 tornadoes have hit since friday.

you may not have noticed it yet but gas prices have dropped across the country for the first time in four months. the lundberg survey discovered the average price of a gallon of regular costs $2.93. however, here in the bay area we continue to pay the highest prices in the country at $4.08 per gallon. even though gas price have is risen for months they're still 6 cents lower than this time last year. yosemite is picturesque anytime of the year but look at the scene from the webcam. there's no snow on the valley floor but you can see a lot of it up on the peaks. they have closed the road because of the weather. >> looks like the wall in "game of thrones," mike. >> it does. nice reference there. let's take a look at what's going on and we're going to see a little more snow starting tonight for yosemite. another foot possible. back here at home we're just well below average with a mixture of clouds and sunshine,

breezy along the coast keeping us in the 50s in san francisco and half moon bay. around the bay itself, mid-60s into the north bay and mid to upper 60s inland. let's look at tonight's temperatures. maybe not quite as cool as this morning but we'll still have a few 40s around napa, santa rosa and lake port. 49 to 47 there. 50 to 53 for the rest of us but notice the chance of wet weather does increase during the evening hours and continues during the overnight hours with the heaviest storms in mendocino and lake counties. we'll have a better chance of thunderstorms rolling through our neighborhoods tomorrow. we'll talk more about that coming up. first get alexis back in here and get your monday morning off. we do have a problem in the santa cruz mountains, likely have two of them. the first one will take you to southbound highway 17 past idylwild. i believe the vehicle landed on the southbound side and part of that slow lane is blocked.
