the driver kept going and going. while making a turn, the r.v. hit a palm tree. as the chase unfolded, we realized the woman behind the wheel was not alone. >> there are two dogs in her lap. >> one of them jumped out. >> the dog is okay. >> reporter: the woman barreled down the street, blowing through every stoplight and intersection. >> another close call. >> a minute later -- >> oh, no. >> reporter: this crash. a black honda pulled out and the driver probably had no idea what was heading right at it. e v.ust sampr. anend, moments later. a white car tried to getf the speeding r.v.'s way.

it got hit and spun around. the woman made a run for it, with the remaining dog following. but she didn't get far. a chp officer daughter and brought her down. can you believe that? the stpt auspect and the drivert were hit went to the hospital. the dog was taken to the vet for care. the other dog was wound a short time ago. mripolice say a 74-year-old woman was dragged into a home, attacked by a dog, held captive for five hours and repeatedly raped. just awful. she was left on the sidewalk. this happened may 10th. the suspect, 47-year-old jesus

amador is in custody. a dismembered body was decision covered in mt. vernon avenue. tests are under way to determine the cause of death. transit and infrastructure are two items we are focused on here. in the east bay, oakland was looking to smooth out their streets. the city council has considered a paving plan, dedicating $100 million. $75 million will be spent on neighborhood streets. $25 million on major thoroughfares. here's a look at what streets are being targeted. they're spread throughout the city. abc 7 news rorornell of pothold

like this one. the city is moving ahead with a plan to fix them. and oaklanders say, it can't come soon enough. dodging potholes was part of our drive to tuesday's oakland city council meeting, where council members were talking about plans to repair broken streets. from west oakland, where rachel is tired of drivin defensively. >> i drive like a maniac trying to avoid the potholes. >> reporter: to montclair village, where many of the streets are paved with holes. >> we had to get our tires replaced device. >> reporter: our colleague blew two tires on her way to work. the big fix calls on spending $100 million over three years to repave streets. >> this paving plan is about
