walnut creek to highway 13. no issues yet. you're in the green. slight delays, filling in, getting out of the central valley. tracy into dublin. now in the yellow at 34 minutes. thank you, alexis. a grim discovery in san francisco, police are investigating a dismembered body found in the city's outer mission district. officers doing a welfare check discovered the remains inside a home at dell monte street. police were responding to a report that a 73-year-old man was possibly missing from his home. officers determined there were suspicious circumstances so they went inside. the medical examiner's office is trying to identify the remains and determine the cause of death. a terrifying ending to a wild chase in southern california. the woman behind the wheel of this rv that has been reported stolen raced through the streets of san fernando valley and also with her in the driver's seat were two dogs.

ama daetz shows us a trail of destruction the driver left behind. a stolen rv driving extremely erratically, very dangerously. >> reporter: this chase wound through city streets and felt like it lasted an eternity as the driver kept going and going. >> here comes another head-on collision. very, very close there. >> reporter: while making a turn to avoid police, the rv hit a palm tree opening the passenger side like a can opener. as the chase unfolded we discovered the woman behind the wheel was not alone. >> there are two dogs in her lap. >> reporter: one of them jumped out and landed on the pavement. >> the dog is running away. the dog is okay. >> reporter: then things took a dark and scary turn. the woman barreled down the street blowing through every stoplight and -- >> oh, no! >> reporter: this crash. a black honda pulled out and its driver probably had no idea what was heading right at it. the rv slammed into the front end and just kept going flying through another intersection.

>> serious damage. serious damage to life and property. >> reporter: the chase came to an end moments later. watch as a white car tried to get out of the way. >> oh, no! oh, my goodness. >> reporter: it got hit and spun around. the rv came to a stop and the woman got out and made a run for it with the remaining dog following. but she didn't get far as the chp officer caught up to her and took her down bringing an end to this wild and extremely dangerous chase. ama daetz, abc 7 news. >> so scary to see that. we're all gasping here as we're watching that story. the suspect and the drivers of the cars hit were taken to the hospital. we know the man in the white car has some broken ribs and a punctured lung. no word on the other driver in the black car. meanwhile, the dog found at the end of the chase was taken to ah seen jumpingut of the window was later found as well. >> that was something else. >> the woman caught in a muni

metro train door and then dragged onto the tracks has filed a claim against san francisco. this is video of the incident at the embarcadero station object teenaged by "the examiner." the paper reports choi lee identified herself as the passenger who got her hand caught in the door, dragged last month. she suffered a collapsed lung, broken ribs, spinal and pelvic fractures. she's now seeking payment for her medical expenses and discretion. san francisco is moving ahead with a controversial plan to reroute traffic around muni's west portal station. city leaders say cars and pedestrians are getting in the way of trains entering and leaving the muni tunnel. it includes a transit only lane during morning commute times. some left-hand turns will be banned so trains aren't blocked and neighbors argue the change will hurt dozens of small businesses in the area. in the south bay supervisors are going ahead with a plan to spend $5 million on gender-based violence services.

the money is aimed at helping survivors of rape and other sex and abuse crimes. part of the money will support two rape crisis centers and training for law enforcement on sexual assault. supervisor cindy chavez pushed for the funding. the supervisors also voted to look into using county funds to replace lost federal grants to local planned parenthood. survivors of last november's massive campfire are now a step closer to getting more help. a bill aimed at speeding up the rebuilding process has been approved. the campfire killed more than 80 people, detried thousands of homes in butte county. many are still l teorary g. this would exempt housing construction from the california environmental quality act. >> we have interim housing mostly being put up by nonprofits and by fema. in that time period we need more permanent housing and that's where something like 8430 comes

no threat of wet weather, but we're back to our typical cool conditions. 6:45 first pitch under partly cloudy sky. 60 degrees, dropping down to 56. not the summer breezes that we're used to. a little more comfortable than, say, a month from now. thank you, mike. in the north bay a 20-year-old woman is alive after her car plunged hundreds of feet off a cliff. the accident happened on highway 121 in rural napa county yesterday, and this is video of the woman being hoisted up to a chp helicopter. a cyclist happened to be riding in the area and saw the accident happen. the vehicle ended up in a heavily wooded area. the driver was taken to a hospital in napa. a bill to allow ten pilot cities to extend bar and restaurant alcohol sales until as late as 4:00 a.m. has passed the state senate again. san francisco state senator scott wiener authored the bill. it passed last year but governor jerry brown vetoed it. san francisco and oakland are among the ten cities that would choose to extend hours.

they would first have to get public input and establish safety and transportation plans. the measure now goes to the assembly for approval. chevy has a new safety feature that won't let charnlgs drive until they put their seat belt on. it will run when teen driver mode is activated on the car set by programming a key fob. it will be standard in all 2020 chevy traverses, malibus and colorados. if the driver's seat belt isn't buckled there will be an audible alert and a message that reads buckle seat belt to sh majority in fatal crashes are not wearing their seat belts. it may be cold and snowing but the national park servic is expecting a busy memorial day weekend at yosemite. rangers are encouraging visitors to arrive before 9:00 in the morning or after 5:00 in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. visitors are urged to use designated parking areas, then the free shuttle buses to get
