kate larson joins us from the newsroom. the police chief seems to be getting some. the president and vice president released this statement. it said that did he what was rare. did he so completely and unequivocally. he apologized. he has shown himself to be a person of high integrity. three hours later we got another email from the police commission which says this. this statement issued to the media this morning regarding the adachi matter was on behalf of police commissioner president hirsch and vice president taylor. at this time it would be inappropriate for the commission to opine further without seeing the results of a full and fair

investigation. yesterday the police chief called for resignation into who leaked the police report about the death of former public defender jeff adachi on journalist bryan carmody. mayor breed declined to comment. but on friday she released a statement which says in part, i'm glad that the chief has acknowledged the department's mistakes and apologize but i remain deeply disappointed by the actions taken in this case up to today. this is unacceptable and we have to do better. the police commissioners are appointed by the mayor and the board of supervisors. they oversee the police department. and today, statements from the commission are the latest in this controversy over the sfpd raid of bryan carmody, a journalist, which has set off a national debate about freedom of the press. back to you. memorial day is usually the

start of summer but today it feels more like winter. >> we've seen a little of everything. dark clouds and rain. sun and wind. we want to get to abc7 meteorologist drew touma on the roof. >> reporter: you would think we're in the month of january. today it was significantly cooler than yesterday. we are tracking showers still. live doppler 7. much of the activity focused in the southern half of the area. some light showers from milpitas, sunnyvale even to east palo alto. a stronger cell about to move into the santa cruz mountains. we're almost done with this storm system. on the storm impact scale, it will linger until 9:00 tonight with the isolated showers and it does remain breezy. later tonight, by 11:30. the showers are off our coastline. the clouds will stick around for much of our monday. take look at what monday has in store.
