explains how he got lost. >> reporter: an all out search in san jose for a missing hiker. a cal fire helicopter sent down and more than 40 firefighters, urban search and rescue crews and law enforcement officers went looking for the 59-year-old who got lost in the woods after breakfast with fellow church members. >> he remembered from when he was a kid, he wanted to take the trail and see this waterfall. >> reporter: so they went for a hike that took them off trail. david says he and victor fell behind and wandered on to private property looking for help for homeowners. ssg. reporte david said he felt threatened by the plan who said. >> get off the property. get it done. that's when i ran and we separated. >> david made it out of the woods and couldn't find victor, reported him missing. four later he was spotted in this san jose neighborhood about 5 miles from his original hiking

location. rescue crews quickly found him and whisked him away from the hospital. looking exhausted. david was there to see him off. >> i'm glad we're both okay. >> i spoke to a fire captain who says it was a huge relief he was found before dark. he says now it's the unofficial start to summer mast memorial day it's important when people go out hiking, they stick to the trail and bring supplies like food and water. >> an american man from colorado is the 11th drooifr diver to die this season. mountaineers say they are concerned. mount everest is overcrowded. look at. the their only one path to reach the summit. and some wait u to hours for climb. while they are waiting, they increase altitude sickness. on average there are five deaths each season.

least 50% chance of above average temperatures. that's when i have 90s coming back. we will talk more about that in a minute. here's frances. >> we will check out the ride right now on westbound 80 for headlights through emeryville. traffic is flowing well. no big problems in the east bay. you can see it is getting a little more crowded there and the drive time good from highway 4 to the maze, 17 minutes. there is slowing westbound across the bay bridge. it's now a 17-minute trip. southbound 101, that's an easy 9-minute ride. we are trafficking a sigalert in mountain view. the northbound connector ramp is closed due to police activity. however, the car pool lane or hov lane is opened. so there is some slowing approaching the scene. we'll keep you posted on that. again for the muni, shuttle buses in place until june 3rd due to a platform ucsf mission bay upgrade.
