thank you. we have much more on robert mueller's statement today on our website, abc7news.com zbhchlt a woman is under arrest after police say she went on a collision course this afternoon. meese say she was involved with at least five crashes leaving at least three people hurt. police started tailing the woman after running the car's plate. the car was stolen. this video released by police shows one of the crashes that we're talking about. you can see the kia sol plow right into the scaffolding after stops and starts. the driver then managed to get away. the chase ended ultimately with one final crash at sixth and claira in the south market neighborhood. woman hit a police car. police arrested the woman at that location. she was taken to the hospital after complaining of some pain. >> a fire that started on the third rail of the bart tracks shut down service between north berkeley and for over an hour this afternoon. the fire department said they received calls of an explosion

with black smoke coming from the tracks just after 2:00. trains are moving slowly in that area. th there was a 20-minute delay. take a look at the bay bridge. traffic is moving again. very different story this morning though. traffic was a mess. after a terrible accident, traffic was at a stand still involving a box truck and a bus. we are live from the toll plaza with more. leslie? >> with lanes closed for hours, 10,000 drivers instead of -- they abandoned their plans to go drive over the bay bridge instead they opted for bart and the commute chaos stemmed from just that one fatal

>> a box truck with two colleagues. this is watt truck looked hike after it smashed into the rear of a golden date transit bus on the westbound bay bridge. the driver was headed to headquarters in the city to refill vending machines according to hiss distraught girlfriend. two other passengers in the truck were seriously injured. >> due to the severe injuries, i think the last thing they want to talk about is how it happened we're focusing on what we can do to help them and comfort them. >> the truck struck the rear of a golden gate bus that departed from the mcarthur bart station at 4:09:00 a.m. to take 20 passengers to the sales force transit center in san francisco because bart recently stopped running service between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. for construction. two passengers complained of pain and were taken to a medical facility after the accident. another bus came by to transport the remaining passengers. for east bay commuters, it was stunningly shocking traffic with

several lanes on the bridge closed for hours with 40 gallons of spilled diesel on the road. >> in terms of driving an hour and 50 minutes, basically two hours to get across the bridge because a big old accident. then i have to drive down here and circle the block 50 million times. >> desperate drivers gave up and opted for bart and it wasn't just work they were missing. this man was on his way to kaiser san francisco for heart surgery. >> we thought for sure we would get to san francisco and gary by 10:00. but then we suddenly saw, hey, there is a three hour backup. we decided to do bart. and now the trains are f >> bart says instead of ending the commute service at 9:00 a.m., they extended it, looping extra trains into san francisco to ease the crowds. it was none the hesstheless a c morning.

>> more people taking the train to avoid having to cross the bridge. >> abc 7 news reporter chris reyes has the story live where the home bound commute is under way. how it is going? >> good afternoon. we've been watching people stead i had streaming into the station. you can expect it to go from this which is okay to bad to worse hour by hour. with so many commuters forced to ride the bart this morning, they saw an extra 10,000 commuters. 10,000 extra commuters are expected to night. a bart official had a word for riders and we spoke to some of the hucky ones wlucky ones thato get out of the city. >> what riders are expect to see is longer trains. more ten car trains than they're used to seeing in the evening commute. we want to put out a word of warning though. the system is going to be crowded. those systems are already at capacity during the evening
