you're never more than seven minutes away from your accuweather fore cast. mike. >> that's the word of the day. some people don't like it but that's the way it is outside. look at the moisture hanging in the air in the form of some drizzle over sfo. we'll have a cooler afternoon with a little more sunshine. we just have to watch out along the coast in the north bay with a chance of some showers. are you ready for summer and the extended forecast? this is a one-hit wonder. these cool temperatures are just for today and that is it. we have 61 at half moon bay. 63 at san francisco. richmond, santa cruz, san mateo at 68. everybody else in the low to mainly mid-70s. tonight we're back into the low to mid-50s. a look at what's going to happen. we have a chance of severe -- not severe but thunderstorms developing. up around lake and mendocino county and they'll drop southward. you're going to probably watch the cloud cover here which is what you should do to see when the sun will break out.

inland around noon. the bay will be full. as you look through the afternoon hours and into the early evening, showers start to develoaround very long. they kind of fall apart. any rain we get during the morning hours is going to be mainly from drizzle as you can see. i'll reset the clock at midnight through the morning commute. there is enough you could find slick streets out there. as far as my accuweather forecast goes. look at the big rebound in temperatures friday, and we stay in the mid to upper 80s inland, mid to upper 70s. low 60s at the coast. even warmer tuesday and wednesday. alexis? good morning, mike. overall we're doing okay still this morning. we don't have any major issues to talk about. just looking at a little bit of a residual delay from an earlier issue on westbound 80 could have been a crash, could have been a disabled vehicle. we never did get to the bottom of that. stomach a stop and go less than a mile. after that it opens back up and you're in the green. as of just a moment ago when i walked up here we did not have

official word the bay bridge metering lights were on but it's getting busy. if they're not yet they will be shortly. car-pool lanes are open and we have quite a bit of that mist and drizzle. be prepared for that. westbound 80 highway 4 to the maze, 20 minutes for you. a little heavy on the bay bridge. 12 minutes for that drive time. southbound 101 you're still in the green at ten minutes. thank you. no bones about it, an oregon woman is trying a different approach to slow down the drivers near her home. take a look. she put up these two skeletons along a dangerous curve with the phrases slowdown and thank you. the road near her house has a hidden driveway and a sharp, blind curve. it makes it tough and unsafe for some people to leave their homes. >> i've been thinking about it for a long time. i finally just went i'm so tired of everybody going around this corner and no consideration. >> she says she wants the city

to install a mirror across from the driveway to give a better vantage point for drivers. the public works department says they can't do that because it would cause a glare and they have no plans to change the road layout. the world's smallest surviving baby is now home after being born in a san diego hospital five months ago. her mom went to the hospital in december when she was just 23 weeks pregnant because of some discomfort. doctors told her she had to deliver immediately due to severe complications. a typical pregnancy is about 40 weeks. sadie was born weighing 8.6 ounces, about as much as a large apple. she was discharged in mid-may weighing 5 pounds. doctors described her as happy and healthy. >> what a miracle baby. congratulations to them. some scary moments at a houston baseball game when a young girl was hit by a foul ball. players and fans visibly shaken as the game was delayed for several mi

drive, southbound 101 santa rosa to san francisco, and northbound 17 from highway 1 to los gatos through the santa cruz mountains looking good at 23 minutes. >> thank you, alexis. the man accused of intentionally plowing his car into a crowd of pedestrians in sunnyvale is due in court. >> 34-year-old isaiah peoples faces multiple counts of attempted murder, and the judge could tack on more charges. abc 7 news reporter jobina fortson is live for us at the courthouse. good morning, jobina. >> reporter: good morning. if filed these hate crime charges would be on top of the eight attempted murder charges isaiah peoples is already facing earlier this month. a representative from the santa clara county district attorney's office told us that they were hoping to make this disby today. prosecutors say that peoples, who is an army veteran, was on his way to bible study last month when he intentionally plowed his toyota corolla into a crowd of people and a crosswalk at el camino real and sunnyvale

avenue. but questions still remain over the motive behind this crash. family members claim peoples suffered from ptsd and is not racist. previously his attorney told us his client's mental health state would be a critical factor in the case. investigators say peoples targeted some of the victims based on their race and his belief they were of the muslim faith. the interfaith solidarity event held at the sunnyvale senior center was in light of this event. reporting live this morning, jobina fortson, abc 7 news. >> jobina, thank you. and, meanwhile, a hit-and-run rampage leaves an 80-year-old man with life threatening injuries. >> the shocking scene all caught on surveillance video from sfpd's tenderloin station. take a look. you can see the stole edge kia running on to the sidewalk, slamming into scaffolding and pinning a pedestrian against it. the female driver then backs up, hits a parked car as dozens of police officers pour out of the

station. seconds later, she hit the 80-year-old man as he was in a crosswalk. >> it was like a movie. i thought they were filming a movie. it was unreal. we didn't hear any sirens when it all unfolded. >> police say the driver hit two cars at fifth and market before slamming into a police car on sixth street when she was arrested. her name has not yet been released. both pedestrians that were hit remain in the hospital this morning. developing news in europe, searchers are looking for at least 21 people missing after a sightseeing boat sank in hungary. seven others died and all of the passengers were from south korea. rescuers pulled seven survivors from the danube river in budapest. it sank after it collided into a larger cruiseship. hungarian officials say none of the tourists were wearing life vests. south korea is sending a team to budapest to assist its citizens. capitol hill democrats remain divided on whether they

should start the impeachment process against president trump. this follows special counsel robert mueller saying his investigation into possible election tampering by russia did not exonerate the president. any impeachment proceedings would have to begin in the house of representatives. and house speaker nancy pelosi said, quote, nothing is off the table during an appearance in san francisco yesterday. president trump fired back at mueller tweeting, quote, the case is closed. a new report says the white house wanted the "uss john mccain" kept out of sight for the recent trip to japan. a may 15th email that included the directive. the official said he would talk to the white house military office to get more information on the directive. trump has tweeted that he wastn ri h vit japan. la ye to or o pa a shut off power to san francisco during fire season.

and happening today the california public utilities commission will consider that proposal. if approved pg&e would be able to shut off power to areas with a high wildfire risk like the east bay. the rain this morning will start at midnight and roll through the morning commute. as we head into the afternoon and evening hours you can see the thunderstorms or the potential of them around a tenth of an inch of rain. my accuweather seven-day forecast we'll jump ten degrees inland tomorrow and will stay in the 80s through monday. we'll have 60s, 80s and 90s. >> i want to take you to our emeryville camera and pointed to downtown oakland. we had a lot of white smoke, a large fire reported near myrtle streets and hearing from our assignment desk that was an auto repair business that was burning looks like that has been tapped out. that certainly is some good news. that being said it is having a big impact on b.a.r.t. this morning.

the three major lines come together in a y shape and they were holding trains as of a few moments ago. trying to get in touch with b.a.r.t. since it looks like the fire is tapped out and no longer any danger. i'll have an update in a few minutes. overnight bachelor couple released the first photos of their new daughter. she was born yesterday afternoon weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces. they met while filming season 22 of "the bachelor" and you may remember all of that hubbub, he original lly chose becca but bre that off. happy for the new parents. new at 6:00, the unusual allergy that let ariana grande to postpone some of her tour dates. it is down from nearly 500 to 50 already.

let's take a look at the temperatures because they will be significantly cooler this afternoon. low to mid-60s, half moon bay and san francisco. we have some upper 60s in richmond, oakland, san mateo and santa cruz. low to mid-70s just about everywhere else. we do have places like santa rosa, lakeport, ukiah that could hit the upper 70s to near degrees. a look at sfo. looks like a delay morning. you can barely see it through
